On August 3rd, 2022 my girlfriend and I were both staying at the LondonHouse Chicago Hotel. We reported that the lock to our room was not working from the night before. The hotel claimed to send someone up while we were away to fix it. We returned and the lock was not fixed. We called the engineer again and the engineer came up and agreed that the lock was broken, he said he had to go and grab tools from downstairs, when he walked out, the door closed and locked; locking us INSIDE of our room for 30+ minutes. The hotel staff had to break the door down (I have video footage). They moved us to a new room. When I asked them about a free dinner or massage for having to break our door down and having us move in the middle of the night, they deactivated the keys to our new room and told us to come downstairs to the front desk to reactivate them. We agreed and went to the front desk - while waiting for the "manager on duty," *******************************, two security guards walked up next to us and told us we were being evicted. When I asked "why?" They said that we were being disrespectful (I have the only correspondence between me and the front desk saved in a text message in the hotel app). I never once cussed or raised my voice, but they had two security guards march us out of the lobby and up to our room like criminals to grab our stuff before kicking us out on the street with no where to go and no refund to buy a new hotel room. They eventually gave us a refund after the lied to Expedia and told them they never charged us (it was prepaid). Also, ********* refused to give the General Manager's information. I have video evidence of this conversation as well. I also have a letter from ******** corporate attorney telling the hotel to do what they have to do to protect "******** interests" in this manner. I have still not received so much as an apology from LondonHouse and neither the General Manager nor owner will return my calls or emails.
