On February 1, 2024, I went to Income tax and preparation services to have my 2023 taxes prepared by the owner Mr. ******************** Zapata. I paid him a fee of $255.00 for the service. After several weeks passed not hearing anything about my taxes I decided to checked my refund and I checked it several times and was told by the *** that my taxes were never submitted and theres no record of my taxes on file. He ripped me off. I called and left messages for Mr.Zapata as to why he didnt submit my taxes..he never responded. I went to his agency and confronted him about my taxes. I was told he submitted my taxes but I wasnt shown any proof that he did. I asked for my refund that I paid him to do a service that he didnt do and was told by Mr.Zapata that Im not getting my money back. His ad does not state that his fees are non-refundable. I had to pay out again to redo my taxes using Turbo Tax with no issues. ******************** Zapata is a ***** that ripped people off and his place of business should be investigated and shut down.Initial Complaint

SO ON 01/28/24 I WENT TO GO DO MY TAXES WITH MR.ANGEL ZAPATA AT THE ADDRESS MENTION ABOVE. HE STATED THAT THE *** WILL START RECEIVING TAXES AFTER 01/29/24 WHICH HE WE SEND IN THEN. I CALLED I TEXTED I WENT PERSONALLY NOTHING EVER HAPPEN HE KEPT STATING THE *** IS TAKING LONGER THEN USUAL I SENT THEN IN THEN AFTER A MONTH HE STATED HE DIDNT REALIZE THAT HIS **** NUMBER WAS NOT ACCEPTED AND THEN HE SAID THAT HE WAS HVING IT PROBLEMS. FINALLY ON 03/08/24 FRIDAY I HAD HAD ENOUGH AND WENT TO H&R BLOCK TO REDUE THEM I EXPLAIN MY SITUATION TO THEM THEY CHECKED AND TOLD ME NOTHING WAS IN THE SYSTEM FROM WHAT THEY COULD SEE SO I RE DID MY TAXES WITH THEM AND SINCE I WAS NOT ABLE TO AFFORD TO PAY THEM SINCE I HAD PAID MR.ZAPATA $200 CASH I ASKED IF THEY COULD DEDUCT IT FROM MY TAX RETURN WHICH THEY SAID YES TO & 2 WEEKS LATER I FINALLY GOT MY REFUND THANKS TO H&R BLOCK I CALLED MR.ZAPATA TO INFORM HIM AND WENT TO OFFICE HIS OFFICE WAS CLOSED AND NUMBERS NEVER ANSWERED FINALLY GOT AN ANSWER ON 04/02/24 AND REQUESTED MY REFUND THEY SAID THEY WILL GIVE HIM MESSAGE I NEVER GOT AN ANSWER SO I CALLED AGAIN ON 04/04/24 AND AGAIN HIS SECRETARY ANSWER AND TOLD ME HE WILL GIVE HIM MESSAGE BUT MENTION THAT HE DID NOT DO REFUND AND DECIDED TO CALL THE *** AND FILE COMPLAIN AS WELL WHEN I WENT TO HIS OFFICE THERE WAS SO MANY CUSTOMERS KNOCKING ON DOORS AND GLASS WINDOWS ASKING FOR THEIR REFUND HE LIED HE NEVER ANSWER OR CALL BACKS CUSTOMERSInitial Complaint

On 03/01 I filed and paid for my taxes with Angel Zapata. I paid for his services. And I paid a part of the money I owed. 255 was a card transaction, the rest was cash. I have no way of proving the cash payment but I do have a card transaction for the 254. He never filed my actual taxes. He just took my money.Customer response

We paid this office to file our taxes and they have not filed nor are they answering the phone. Weve called multiple times and no response. We also stopped at the office multiple times only to find others in the same situation. Currently Filing for fraud with the ****Initial Complaint

On February 19, 2024, together with my husband and my two oldest children, requested the tax preparation service for each of us at this agency. Mr. ******************** Zapata assisted us personally in this process. At the end of the process, he charged us a total of $410.00 and when asked about our receipt, he told us that my copies were our receipts and that he had already sent the documents electronically at that time. It is worth mentioning that we have been filing our tax declaration in this office for many years without any problems so which we did not distrusted. A little more than a month has passed and we have not yet received the refund. We have made countless calls and he does not answer the phone so we went to the office personally and the office is currently closed, we checked on the *** page and they have not received anything so far. I have now learned that we were not the only ones who were charged for services without sending them properly, there were many more people with the same problem. What we are asking for is the return of our money and if possible that this type of fraud doesn't continue to happen from ******************** Zapata and for this to continue being carried out on working people like us. Thank you so much. I'll wait to hear from you soon.Worth noting- I am sending you a proof of an email I received at the beginning of the year 2024 offering his services and prices.Initial Complaint

I had him prepare my taxes. I gave my cc information for payment. He kept saying the taxes had been filed. I called and the office told me he said there were filled. I never saw the funds charged. I get a letter from the *** that my taxes are late and I have to pay a fee. I paid him to do my taxes and requested a refund for the late fee. He would not respond, I even sent message on FB. It's been a year no refund for the late fee or doing my taxes and not submitting them to the ***. sent him message June 12th when I recieved letter from *** again on 13th 15th and 16th 17, 2023 requesting refund.Initial Complaint

I paid Angel zepata to submit my 2023 tax return he claimed he submitted them February 10th. Two weeks later I was still not able to track my taxes so I called, emailed, texted and went into his office. He never called me back. His office is now closed and not answering his phone. I have talked to multiple people all experiences the same issue with him. He took my money and did not provide the service. I had to take my taxes to a different perpetration agency.
