There is no way to cancel a plan according to the methods laid out within their given contract. I have sent certified mail directly to the address with a formal request for cancellation and it was returned to sender because of an invalid address. I have called multiple numbers during business hours and they have all instantly disconnected. There is no way at all to cancel online.Business Response

I filed a claim against a Hiscox policy holder in January 2025. Hiscox states they do not have an update on the claim, its still open. Ive made several requests to have my call returned from a supervisor, I havent received a response. I was told by Hiscox to file a new claim. In doing so, there still is no resolution or communication from Hiscox.Business Response

I paid 10k for Hiscox to preform a a data analysis. The lawyer was very disrespectful said I was in with the *****, made lots of sexual sounds was loud and didnt get results as stated. They not only didnt obtain both items in question. But they didnt contact my business banker who conferred with ******** regarding loans being taken out in my name along with credit cards. Also the original claim agents information wasnt relayed to the new agent who was transferred midway. The newer agent ****** was very disrespectful took many vacations and didnt attend any of the meeting she also refused to reimburse any and all expenses. Nor did they wipe the computer. My business and personal information is on the dark web I sent the data schematics of two creditable websites that found data leaks with almost every piece of information on the dark web along with Experian detecting a hacker, along with life lock. During the conclusion of my account they refused to file a lawsuit ****** didnt like my companys name and the lawyer **** didnt want to answer my phone calls when I asked for paper work regarding there findings he sent a summery of all of the conversation that had taken place. It was literally written by them and not the vender they claim to have hired. I spent ten thousand dollars for a summary of our conversations. He sound like he was on drugs.Business Response

I have carried a commercial business insurance policy with hiscox for the last 18 months. I originally signed up with an agent from either hiscox or progressive over the phone and paid for my policy online. All was well and good for 18 months they took $147 plus or minus a few dollars out of my account like clockwork. I signed up for commercial business insurance for my business Busy *******************************************. On november 14th 2024 i was performing a removal of a pine tree and had an accident occurr. Damage was done to the house and an estimate was given by a construction company, for 3500 dollars the homeowner ans i agreed we would use my insurance. I spoke with an agent **** ***** from hiscox who over the course of a few days helped me begin the claim process. Friday november 22nd 2024 i was then told my claim had been denied because apparently hiscox does not insure tree company's that do tree removal?! I was floored i have been paying for a policy for the last 18months that I would have never been able to use. It was never sent to underwriting or looked over by anyone at hiscox or progressive. I am faced with a flat out denial and no way to pay for the repair of the roof plus I have paid out over $2900 for a policy that should have never been created in the first place! I am seeking a complete refund from hiscox back dated as far as possible.Business Response

On October 9, 2024, I purchased a General Liability policy (#P103.993.979.1) from Hiscox through Insureon. The annual premium was $1,997.94, and the agent advised that I pay $506.94 upfront as a payment toward the first three months of coverage. After a few weeks, I didnt receive the jobs I needed the coverage for, so I called Hiscox on November 7 to cancel the policywell within the first month. They confirmed the cancellation and mentioned a refund for the remaining balance. However, I was only refunded $7.46. When I called to understand why, Hiscox stated this was due to fees in the agreement I signedfees that had not been clearly disclosed upfront. I also requested the signed documentation showing my agreement to these fees, but they have yet to provide it. I currently have homeowners and auto insurance and I have never hear of a company charging such a high fee just to start a policy, a majority of the policy was done by myself ********* a small business owner, I feel Ive been unfairly charged $506.94 for holding the policy for less than a month. I am requesting a fair refund that reflects the actual time I held the policy.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:In response to your letter regarding the terms of the insurance policy purchased on October 9, 2024. I would like to clarify that at no point during the purchase process was I notified that the premium amount was non-refundable.
Additionally, the details regarding the refund being less than pro rata or the potential non-refundable nature of the premium were not explicitly communicated to me. If these terms were part of the policy documentation, they were not clearly highlighted or explained at the time of purchase.I also find it unfair to hold almost the entire premium amount of $506.94 for less than a full month of coverage. When I called to cancel, your representative explicitly advised me that I would receive a pro-rated refund. This conflicting information has added to my concern about the transparency of the process.
I respectfully request a review of this matter, as I believe the lack of clear communication and the retention of such a significant amount for a short duration of service is unreasonable. Also I believe the lack of proper notification regarding these terms has caused this misunderstanding.

You can cancel your Hiscox policy at any time, and we will refund any premium owed to you. However, as soon as you cancel your policy, you will no longer have any protection in place for potential claims and/or losses."I request a review of the situation and urge HISCOX to honor the refund policy as advertised on their website. Any deviations from this advertised policy must be clearly justified and supported by evidence of proper disclosure to the policyholder.

They have been unreachable via email, website chat, or telephone. I've been trying to cancel my insurance policy with them for months and they keep charging my card. I have tried a phone number they listed in mail, didn't work. I have tried a phone number listed on their website, doesn't work. I have tried the phone number listed on in an automated chat, it didn't work. They don't monitor email, their chat never connects to a human. They are making it impossible to cancel my account and they keep charging me even though I have requested cancellation through every possible outlet.Business Response

I contacted them more than 10 times already and there is no adjuster available to resolve my claim. The customer we have is really furious and so am I because they do not resolve anything. I had a fire at my place of business on January 24, 2023 and I filed a claim and to this day I still don't have a resolution. I made numerous calls to the company finally someone came out in May to inspect the location we had already moved from because the owners chose not to repair their property. I have since then been waiting for some resolution. They contacted me in June and told me my fire report was the hold up so I got a copy to them they already had my itemized list of items lost and I was told what ever I was not priced would be looked up on the internet. ***** later after I reached out to them to find out what is the hold up I was told I had to do the research so I did and submitted and Im still waiting for resolution on my lost content. The company wasted no time increasing my insurance rate after the claim, yet it's almost January again and I have no resolution. I had been advised to seek legal representation as lots of insurance companies are doing whatever to customers.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: the company is stringing me along they asked me for a notarized letter in regards to my losses I have returned everything they asked of me they sent a new form on August 17th and I returned it the 18th I received notification that it was received and this was supposedly to settle my claim and pay me for my losses and here we are almost 2 weeks later and they are needing what information now. I have spent my own money covering a lot going into the new location and we still are at a stand still because they have yet to make me whole in this matter. They informed me my losses total 18, ****** yet they are deducting an additional ******** recoverable depreciation which I feel is bogus but its a clear indication that I need move forward with seeking legal representation as they are now holding my monies to rebuild hostage.

This insurance company has been sank to the level where they are not able to provide an additional insured COI within ***** hours without keep calling and ***** reminders. On Feb 8th, I contacted Hiscox Insurance to request cancelation. On that call I was told the policy would be canceled, and a refund of $43.00 would be sent me. On March 23rd, I received a email saying the notice previously sent for cancelation had been withdrawn, and that the insurance remained active. On March 24th, I was charged $41.25 for monthly premium. On that same day, March 24th, I contacted Hiscox and spoke with agent *****, requesting that the refund for the $41.25 and the $43.00 promised me. Simultaneously, I requested immediate cancelation of the insurance, but my request has not been processed. Agent ***** affirmed that she was canceling the insurance and that management would contact me that same day, to review and confirm. Now, March 29th, I called again to check progress on my refund and was told they have no records of my calls requesting cancelation. How can this request and monthly charges continue to be ignored? How does Hiscox remain in business, lying and fraudulently ignoring my repeated requests for cancelation? I will ask the BBB to help me with this issue. I have new insurance, since a month ago! I need this cancelation and refund immediately.Business Response
