This is pertaining to the billing department and billing policies of Athletico Physical Therapy only. I had started receiving physical therapy from them since March 16, 2023. Each time I go, they collect a copayment of $20, then bill the rest to the insurance. When the insurance company sends their payment along with 'Explanation of Benefits', it would say that they pay this much, and I have a $20 copayment. The $20 copayment was the $20 I paid during my visit. However, the billing department charges me another $20 after receiving insurance payment, because they said that I had a $20 copayment based on the **** I checked with the billing department, and the representative absolutely refused to accept my explanation that the $20 copayment on the *** was the $20 I paid during the visit and insisted that I had another $20 copayment based on **** The company needs to review its billing policy to not charge patients twice for the copay. I think I heard another patient having the same issue. This is not the first time I had physical therapy, no one else had charged me copayments twice. Aside from the PT that was satisfactory, I also could not see my appointments or account balances in my account on the website. Patient convenience left something to be desired.
