      My lease states that the last month of my rent is free and that I will be sent a refund for it. The money was never sent, although I received an email from them on March 29 that I was to be sent this money in the form of a paper check. The money was never sent!!!!! My repeated attempts to reach them have yielded no results.

      Before I moved out, I asked ***********************, property manager of Oak/Park Townhomes run by Advantage Properties, if my rent could be prorated since I will be moving out on the 7th of the month. She said I will have to pay the whole rental amount of $1200 and will be reimbursed of the remaining rental cost. I moved out on September 7, 2022. I expected to be reimbursed within a month. The last time I heard or spoke to her was on October 3, 2022. She said she will talk to accounting to get the process expedited. I was told the money will be sent back electronically to my bank account. Today is November 11, 2022, almost 2 months since I moved out from Park Townhomes, and almost a month since she said it will be expedited, I have not received any reimbursement. It is hard to get hold of her by phone, so I would email weekly to get an update about the reimbursement. All emails have been unanswered. One month is more than an adequate time to have the money returned. It is ridiculous that I have to use BBB to get any response to this issue and get my money back. Advantage Property, please return my money today.

      I have just checked and found that our office has already sent you a check refund in the amount of $1,200 on 10/24/2022. Please note that this is check number *****. Additionally, it is very important to note that Advantage Properties Chicago, *** (APC) is not holding or has any ability to withhold your funds. Once a resident moves out, we submit findings to ownership and they work to issue approval for fund reimbursement. Nevertheless, the check is already in the mail and on its way to you.

      I am thankful that I finally received the check.  However, I am rejecting this response because Advantage Properties did withhold the funds for almost 2 months, ignored my weekly emails, and failed to communicate that the reimbursement will be sent by snail mail and not electronically as they initially declared.  Instead of apologizing for the inconvenience this has caused my life, they tried to justify the wrongdoing they have done.
