Despite having a valid parking pass displayed on my windshield from the ********************* and CPS AND despite signs being posted that no towing would occur until 10pm (it was 8:43pm at the time of the tow) - I was towed by Rendered Services. This occurred to at least 6 other vehicles in the same lot at the same time.Business Response

please be advised that this customers vehicle was towed because they failed to display their parking pass on the dashboard of their vehicle. Rendered monitors this parking lot every night and all vehicles parked need to display the proper permit or pass. The pass the customer is showing in their attachment is the correct pass, however if you look at the pre tow photos from our driver you clearly can see the pass was not displayed nor was it visible.
There will be no refunded issued because this was a valid tow.

I am rejecting this response because:1) I've circled in red the pass DISPLAYED in photo 1 on page 2. It seems Rendered chose to take a convenient photo from far enough not to clearly show the pass.
2) This lot has a sign from Rendered Services that states there is no parking AFTER 10pm. The tow occurred at 8:43pm. They were towing BEFORE it was even allowed. The sign is hanging right on the East side fence. When a different business ran the lot (A-1 towing), it was after 7pm and is still visible on ****** street view. That's NOT the sign that is there today since Rendered took over the lot.
This company is not BBB accredited and has an F rating...it seems pretty clear as to why.

I am rejecting this response because:The pass was displayed but without my own photo of the pass we can just argue back and forth without conclusion.
What isn't up for argument is what time the car was towed. 8:43pm. The sign at the lot with Rendered Services name on it clearly states 10:00pm. So Rendered was towing cars before the posted time.

On November 23, 2024 I enter the parking lot located at ********************* and I enter **** and make purchases and as soon as I go outside my car is missing turns out someone has towed it while we were shopping. I have proof of purchase same date same time. I shouldnt have to pay ******. To go shopping in there parking lot. Today, 11/19/24, I was illegally towed by Rendered Services *** and am requesting a refund. I was at the ********* on Armitage and ********* in *******. I drove to this ********* and was a customer at the store. After leaving the ********* I put the merchandise that I had bought in my car and then I walked across the street to the bank. In the less than 10 minutes I was away from my car I was towed. The ********* did have signs up saying only customers could park in their lot and could be towed if vehicles owners left the property. What I do not understand is the nature of this towing. The tow company's own receipt says my car was picked up on "patrol" meaning that ********* did not request this service so the only way this towing company determined I had left the property was if they were in or near the lot to prey on anyone that left their car for any reason. I also do not believe a reasonable person would interpret the ********* sign as meaning the moment someone is even one inch off the property they forfeit their vehicle.The tow company also did not provide me with any proof that I had left the property and didn't know I had been a customer at the *********, to me this tow business picked my car at random. This towing cost me ******, the business has not tried to resolve this, when I brought up my case to the clerk working the desk at Rendered Services she told me she only managed the payments.Initial Complaint

On October 12th at approximately 9am I parked in gated lot adjacent to the building at *******************. *******. I parked in a parking space in between two cars on either side of me. Sometime after 5:30pm, I left the building and found my car gone and another car parked in the same spot. I went back into the building and the owner of the business I was patronizing called Rendered Services to ask if they had my Grey 2020 ****** Rouge. They said they did and when asked why the car was towed, they said I was parked in two parking spaces. I explained that there were cars on either side of me and I was parked in a space. If I was in two spaces then the other cars were as well. I took of picture of the car and space I was in. There were to lines for the parking space, one more faded than the other, but nonetheless the cars were in alignment with one another. The owner of the business asked if there could be something worked out and the *** on the phone was rude and said emphatically no! The business owner stated that she has had previous run in with the business and that they are predatory.Business Response

I moved into new apartment building on August 13, 2024. I was assigned to park across the street in alley near ***************************************************************. There are towing signs for unauthorized vehicles. I specifically asked a representative of my building management if I had to do anything and he assured me that I would not be towed. I was towed today, September 1, 2024, despite paying $75 a month for the privilege of parking there. The rude receptionist said I would have to either pay the fee (which I don't have) or wait until management is in. Since it's a Holiday weekend, my guess is that it will be Tuesday. I am also physically compromised and my ****** is in the trunk of my vehicle - which is dangerous for me to be without. Ridiculous. And my landlord definitely did not request that my vehicle be towed.Business Response

Between SpotHero, the parking lot owner and the towing company, someone needs to assume responsibility and reimburse me for the cost. I will close out the complaint once this is resolved.

I attended the Cubs game on Aug 18th 2024. I paid for a parking spot through SpotHero. The spot was a personal garage that held 2 cars. I reserved the spot and paid $37. I had the spot reserved for *********. We provided SpotHero with make/model/ and license plate of my car. We parked shortly after 1100. When we returned at 1600 my car was gone. Per paperwork it was towed at 1550. The garage spot I was in, was the right address according to ********, matched the picture from spot hero and had a sign on the garage for spot hero reservations. I then had to pay for an **** to Rendered services lot to retrieve my car. Had to pay $240 dollars to get my car. When given the tow report/invoice, the address on the invoice that I was towed from, matched the address that ******** instructed me to park at. This company took my car illegally. There is no difference in a random person stealing my car and holding it for ****** money then Rendered services deeming it was parked illegally (which is was not) and taking it until a fee was paid.Business Response

On today, July 23rd at 1:30 pm, I parked my rental vehicle at the *********, **************************************************** parking spot, used the ** code to enter my email, and vehicle license plate, and paid $12.50 to cover parking costs for 24hours. I received the I returned to the vehicle at approximately 10 pm to see that the car had been towed or stolen. I called the tow company, RSI, listed in front of the parking lot. RSI confirmed towing the vehicle at 6:27 pm. I was told that I'd have to pay $288 to retrieve the car. I asked to speak with management and asked if they confirmed with Spot Hero that this vehicle would be removed. They did not verify any information and I'd have to wait until after 8 am on 7/24 to discuss this matter with management. Then, I contacted Spot Hero. They explained that RSI should confirm with Spot Hero and the property owner, ****************, *************************** before taking a vehicle. It doesn't appear that any information was confirmed. The car was just taken because RSI claimed it was not in their system. Since this was illegally towed, I have no plans on paying this fee and would like the vehicle returned to me.Customer Answer

The experience was horrible- the receptionist couldnt care less and acting very rude when you try to hear him clear or ask questions. They treat you like as if you are a moron The whole entry looks like a jail. You got treated like a prisoner. Very out dated payment system and their little office set the window so high that you have to reach up to talk/hear or give them your cards. I paid $240 for towing and its absolutely over charge for towing a sedan for 2 miles distance.Business Response
