    1/23/2023 we bought a “work ready” forestry bucket truck from Schmidy’s Machinery in Clinton IL. After they recieved the wire we went to pick it up where they did not have the truck ready. On top of that without bringing the truck home and them receiving payment they made me sign an as-is. So far this truck has been down more then it’s been worked. I’ve had to take it to my own mechanic and have work done that they told me they had done in text message conversations. This truck has lost me so much money that I’m on the brink of having to return it to the lender as I’m a small business and cannot work it.

    I have attached Mr. ********** signed paperwork. if you look at the first page which was sent on Jan 19th 2023 before purchase, in the bottom left corner it states our vehicles are sold as-is. We also stated when asked that we do not offer warranties any longer. They must be purchased through a third party but we had constant issues with customers making claims and they were not being covered for the smallest technicality. It was not beneficial to customers any longer. We did not force him to sign anything. He signed of his own accord. If he didn't sign it still would have not changed the fact we do not offer a warranty. These are all used trucks we service all of them, drive them for a limited number of hours and miles, and fix any issues but just like any used car things can happen at any time. ***** went out to test drive it to make sure it was ready for Mr. ********. The issue came up and we repaired it. That is why it wasn't ready. We offered to delivery it after fixing the issue so they did not have to wait around. We also let them know if anything happens while we are driving it to them we will repair it at no cost to them since it is still in our possession. They declined and wanted to pick it up/take it with them each time. We also let customers know if anything happens on the drive home or the first couple of times of them operating it we will help them out. Which is exactly what we did. We repaired numerous issues above and beyond what we would normally do for any customer. They then started calling with many small issues. We brought the truck back to our shop multiple times and repaired the issue each time. Since the trucks are used we typically limit a customer to the first week or two they own it that we will repair it We tried to have the moblile tech from **** ***** ******* go to them but they were booked out for weeks and Mr. ********s wife stated they did not want to wait that long. So we brought it back instead and repaired it here. We fixed their truck multiple times over multiple months. They never mentioned to us or did we ever witness any black smoke. They also contacted a lawyer and after they reviewed our side nothing ever came of it. We try to make every customer happy and have a good experience but there was no pleasing Mr. ******** or his wife.
