On April 2nd ************************************* one of the properties this company was renting out. We were approved for the application process and provided an estimated move in date. They company agreed to this date and put together a bill for a full security deposit, a utility deposit, and a prorated month's rent. We paid this amount and then were sent the lease for review. We reviewed the lease and the property's reputation. On reviewing both these items we declined to sign the lease and my wife requested a refund of our deposit of $1801.00 ($1100 security deposit, $150 utility deposit, $551 prorated rent for the month of May). The company representative immediately became hostile to the suggestion and when we pushed the possibility of small claims court they said they would actually *** us and get at least 3 months rent from us as it was in Illinois law. They have since blocked my wife and I have no been able to contact them to even get the rent for the place I did not live in.

We moved out of our duplex on February 20th, they had new tenants move in shortly after. I think the next day because we went to check the mailbox and there was a family there. We have not received our security deposit and have been ignored. Our place was left empty and in perfect condition. I would like my deposit back.

On September 16, 2023 we texted Jones leasing (will only talk to you by text) was called about a water issue that is flooding the basement. They refuse to answer text. These people are the worst to deal with. They tell you when u have a problem that your rent is to be pd before they will come and do any repairs. They won't tell you who you are texting so you make talk to several different people. They want their money but they don't want to fix anything. This water issue is huge and they don't care. My son and I have saved all their text messages because of the threats and name calling. I guess I will be going to the states attorneys office and the city to file complaints or law suit against ************************* d/b/a Jones leasing llc. Address is ************************************************************.

      Business response

      09/25/2023

Saturday September 16th the tenant ******************************* reached out to our office via text message stating there was an issue with the water heater. ****, one of the maintenance directors, reached back to him Sunday September 17th letting him know maintenance will be out the following day to fix it. As you can see per the text messages ******************************* has acknowledged completion of the maintenance request and has not reached out about it since.

**** is ******** mom. She was on the lease as well as he did not quite meet the income requirements. He fell into financial issues and she had paid for the lease to be cancelled. Her anger is stemming from this. There are no issues with the home.

I was in a lease for an apartment with Jones Lease Properties until 07/31/2023 but I told them on 04/28/2023 that I would not be renewing my lease. They said they were going to try to fill the place and would let me out of my lease early if they found someone. I was current with all my payments. They had me pay $511.47 up through 07/31/2023 but moved someone in there on 07/07/2023. They made the new guy pay $472.00. So we both paid for the month of July and the other guy lived there. Also, I rented a garage with them that wasn't in a lease for $50 a month and they moved someone in there for the month of June as well but still charged me. They also made me pay for kittens for 2 months for $50 a month that weren't in a lease agreement that weren't living there. They also said they were going to give me my security deposit back because I cleaned the place better than when they moved me in and nothing was ever damaged. They cut off communication with me after they double dipped on the properties and they got their money. They owe me apartment July rent ($511.47 or at least $472.00 which is what they charged the other guy that was living in my apartment), garage June rent ($50), kitten charges for *** and June ($100), and security deposit ($545.00). The total Jones Lease Properties owes me is $1,206.47.

I was renting a property located at ******************************************** with a lease end date of 7/31/23. The landlord (Jones Lease) was notified via text on 4/17/23 that I was purchasing a different property, but would continue to pay monthly rent until my lease expired. I advised I would notify them of my closing date which I did on May 15th via text. I also sent them a 30 day notice to vacate, via **** stating I would have everything out by the end of May, but no later than June 12th. On, Saturday May 12th the landlord had a new tenant sign a new lease and attempt to begin moving in to the property without informing me. I was paid in full through the end of May and my June rent payment was already in route from my bank. I still had personal property inside the residence. I was able to work through this with **** Jones to get a release of liability from the property, but Jones owes me $1937.60 for 5 days of May rent, $875 security deposit and $915 for the June rent that they received. I have contacted them several times via email and text, phone calls and they do not respond. I just would like my money returned to me. They broke the law double renting the residence and basically are stealing my money.

I rented from Jones Lease Properties from 06/21 to 01/23. Upon arrival I found that none of the fixes to the property that had been discussed to be completed before I moved in. Garage didn't work for months, one of the showers didn't work, wiring hanging out of walls. This took me about 6 months to get them to complete. About 6 months before I moved out Jones Lease they cut all ties of communication to their residents. They disconnected their office phone and told me no one would ever answer or respond to the other number they had given out. The only way we were allowed to communicate was via text to a maintenance line. When asked about this they said this is what everyone is doing, no one wants their residents to be able to call them. When I moved out I did so 3 days early and had the house professionally cleaned. It has now been 52 days since moveout and I have not received my deposit check or a list of "damages" although there were none. The company will not reply to the only form of communication they offer. I gave them my forwarding address to this number and also in the envelope with my last months rent. This company recently filed bankruptcy and I'm afraid they are keeping deposits to add to their revenue.

I have made multiple attempts to reach out to this leasing agency about an account balance with no response. They are continuing to charge late fees for this unexplained balance.

My partner and I rented from this company from May 8th, 2020 until June 30th, 2021. Through out that time we had several maintenance requests ignored including our heat not working and being off in the winter months. We each submitted 2 maintenance requests for this problem and we're ignored. We called many times with no answer and if there was an answer we were told someone would call us to schedule a call. We never received those calls back to schedule a meeting or to have someone come fix our heat. Finally we withheld $100 from our rent so they were forced to call us. Someone came out to fix the heat but this process took three weeks. We had to live in the cold for three weeks. Other than the $100 we always paid rent on time. When we moved out they charged us for things that already existed when we moved in. I have videos from when we moved in and when we moved out to prove this. They took our $1400 and never gave us an official list of charges and have since blocked our numbers.
