I had ordered and paid for 60 yds of Western Hardwood Bark Mulch from The Mulch Center in ****, **. I had been working with a *** at the Volo mulch yard. What was delivered to our home was not hardwood bark mulch. With each delivery (we had **** yd deliveries), I had questioned what was actually being delivered--it seemed like a mixture of stuff. Both *** and the delivery person would never verbally say that I had received hardwood bark mulch, but instead would say, "It's what you ordered." After having taken weeks to spread the mulch, I noticed an artillery fungus growing in the mulch. After having spoken to a reputable arborist in the area and a popular landscaper who spreads nothing but hardwood bark mulch, we had confirmed that what was delivered to us was indeed NOT hardwood bark mulch FOR HARDWOOD BARK MULCH IS RESISTANT TO ARTILLERY FUNGUS. What I did receive was a mixture of junk mulch. I do not believe that the headquarters in Deerfield know of the fradulent actions of the Volo facility. We got scammed. We would ask for all of our money back, because now we have to get hardwood bark mulch to lay on top of this junk mulch with the artillery fungus growing throughout in an attempt to smother it. I can't even begin to tell you how upset we are. I spread all 60 yds of the mulch myself at age 63. This is shameful!Furthermore, I found myself short of mulch to finish my yard so instead ordered true hardwood bark mulch from a completely different company to put in several planting areas, and one can surely see the difference between the junk product the Volo Mulch Center had delivered (and not what I had ordered and paid for) and what hardwood bark mulch actually looks like. I would invite a representative from The Mulch Center headquarters in Deerfield to call me to set up an appointment to come and see that difference as well. Thank You!
