I was in an accident on October 10th and filed a claim the same day. It's now October 27th and I still haven't heard anything from them. I call everyday and sit on hold for multiple hours just to finally get connected to a rep who doesn't know what's going on and constantly transfers me to different people who I leave many voicemails and my calls are never returned. I was also given my agents number ************, who everytime I call, it goes straight to voicemail. I pay for a service monthly and they refuse to hold up their end of the deal. I need this rectified, I've been without a car for almost 3 weeks.Initial Complaint

I canceled insurance with Magnum Insurance in May 6 2022. The cancellation was done in a location in ******** ** and was told I would receive a refund of $266 since that was the prorated amount left on the insurance. I called in on June 13 2022 and they said that there was still steps needed to complete to get my refund and that it was completed and I would receive a refund within a week. It is now July 11 2022 and have not received a refund and contacted them again and they stated it would be another week.Business response

We located the account and did see the credit on the customers account. Due to closings, this took a bit longer than expected.
We expedited the clients refund and the money was returned back to the insureds credit card on 7/13. The funds would have hit their account within 72 hours from that.
We spoke to the insured and they advised the refund back to the credit card was okay with them. Thank you.Customer response

Dear BBB and ****************,
We checked our records and we confirmed that a policy was purchased online from us effective for coverage on 3/2/2022. We checked our inbound communications and found no correspondence from the cell phone and email address we have on file. As a result, we had no way of knowing of ******************** desire to cancel his policy. If **************** can provide the declarations page of the same coverage or better on the same vehicle we may be able to work with the insurance carrier to back date the cancelation. If we cannot back date the cancelation then we would do a normal insured request cancelation however given that it's been more than a month since the purchase there likely would not be an unearned premium to return.

A representative said a check for $29 will be sent out. I spoke with someone on the 19th or 20th. I have already sent out the information to the policy company with what **** has stated. I will await for the check as discussed by phone with a representative from the ******* main office of Magnum for Unique Auto insurance. Thanks **** PS- my complaint with CheckBCA.org will remain open till check comes from Magnum per phone conversation with rep on 19th or 20th of April 2022. b>

I get a call every year from the company telling me its almost time to renew my policy & that im getting a ************ never get anything, now instead of a discount, my policy has gone up from $243.00 to over ******. IaM a Senior citizen on a fixed income I only use the car for shopping an from time to time I will visit my sister which lives 12 miles away. I dont think this is fair. I have used this company for many many year n each years has been the same& always hve to deal with them about price n about my so called discount that never happened . I havnt had any accidents or DUIs so I don't see a reason why my payment has gone up so much ?Business response

Thank you for forwarding this complaint to us. We reviewed our records and can confirm that **************** has been a valued customer of ours for many years and that upon his last renewal his insurance premium increased from $261 plus our agency fee to $288 plus our fee. There are many factors that can cause a premium increase even for someone that has had a perfect driving record, such as if a company has a rate increase which is what we suspect happened in this situation. We are a brokerage not the insurance carrier, so we have no control over the rates that the carrier charges. Since ******************* complaint we were able to find another carrier for him at a cheaper rate and hope that this resolved his concern. Thank you.
