My daughters received a fluoride treatment at the dentist on 7/29. At the time of service I was told insurance wouldnt cover this application. I asked how much it would cost me out of pocket and was told $42 each child. Per the dental office policy all treatment is to be paid in full at the time of service. After treatment was completed I was charged and paid $84. I just received a bill in the mail from them for another $18. They claim the $42 was only an estimate. That was not what I was told and thats not why I paid $84 to pay for the treatment in full per their policy. They need to remove the $18 and close out the transaction. I wouldnt accept treatment based on an estimate where they can then change it and charge you more than that price later after youve already paid them. It never went to insurance for consideration because we already knew it wasnt covered. I find it hard to believe the dentist office doesnt know how much they charge for fluoride treatment uncovered by insurance and needed to provide an estimate.

When I booked a routine dental appointment at Grove Dental Downers Grove for June 20, 2022, the administrator on the call assured me repeatedly that my insurance would be covered fully by my insurance because I was very clear that I would find another provider if the visit wasn't covered there. During the appointment, the dental technician who handled my *************rays, attempted to upsell me on supplemental services like teeth whitening and fluoride, but I repeatedly stated I didn't want to receive anything outside of what's fully covered by my insurance. Even when checking out, the office administrator said, 'you're all set - everything's covered by your insurance today', so I left with that assumption. I received a **** for $199.00 on 7/7/2022 showing that the appointment was not fully covered. One of the services on the **** was not something I even received (prophylaxis) during my appointment, I only received the x-rays and oral evaluation, but even those services weren't covered fully. It's completely unethical to mislead patients into booking appointment and receiving medical services without disclosure of fees upfront. I want this **** for $199 to be fully dismissed, and for this to not happen to future patients of Grove Dental Associates.
