On March 6th I bought a vehicle, and I noticed it was not running correctly. I drove the car back home and noticing going over the river, the car started jerking and wasn**;t reaching appropriate speeds. The next day I tried to drive around to see how things are, and brought it to my grandfather**;s house. It was refusing to start after I shut it off, and we had to eventually push it out to the street in neutral, this is when it finally was able to start. I am guessing due to the angled elevation of the driveway it must have stopped it from starting on the drive way, which makes little sense. Same day I brought it back to them and told them about the state of the car, to which they responded with them wanting to check it out. They sent us to the service area, my grandfather and I met with the service lady and told her the situation. She was pointing to a list they had for servicing and saying I would be at the end of a list, meaning that I would have to wait a unnecessary amount of time, and she was rather dismissive about it. It was about the 20th or so before they could see me. My grandpa wanted to talk to a head of service, so they directed us to go back to the front. They had to have us wait for 30 mins so we left for a bit and came back. They had the car pulled around when we came back, We spoke with a **** ***** (I believe that was the name), and told us it was a transmission problem and to give them till Monday. I called them Monday and said to give them till Friday. They didn**;t order the part till supposedly this last Monday/Tuesday. Every time I call they say they have no information. They expect me to pay despite not having the car for long at all.Initial Complaint

I bought a car from them in October 2024 and it was purchased AS IS. I paid cash for it, $11.192.00. I didn**;t have it 2-3 months before I had problems with the car. I had a mechanic to go with me to look at the car and he didn**;t see any oil leaks. It runs good. I took my car to Bass Auto and they found oil leaks and other issues with the car and it**;s over $3,800 to get the car fixed. I would like for them to pay for the repairs and to give me a rental until it**;s repaired or to give me a refund.Business Response

The vehicle was not warrantied for oil leaks. We can not pay or offer loaner cars for repairs. We would be willing to quote repairs needed if the customer would like to supply the estimate, she had received to see if it's something that can be done cheaper.Initial Complaint

We offered to repair the vehicle. We told her she needs to catch up on payments and then we would install a used transmission for her.Business Response

Mrs **** purchased a vehicle on 02/24/24. Soon after purchase the vehicle needed a transmission. We agreed to install a used transmission as a good will repair for the customer. Mrs. **** picked up the vehicle on 03/12/24 from us. At the time of pick up the miles on the vehicle was 115833. On 12/26/24 the vehicle was brought in for repairs. After inspecting the vehicle it did indicate the vehicle needed a transmission. The customer had expressed she thought it should have been repaired at no charge. We explained to the customer that she had driven the car for over 9 months and had put over ****** miles on the since the transmission had been installed. We ere not able to repair the vehicle for free. Mrs. **** also has a constant issue with staying up on her payments as well. We did tell her at one time that we would do the repair for $1000.00 if she was able to also pay the past due balance that was on her account. She said she was not able to do this. This at the time was close to $1800.00 ($1000.00 repair and $800.00 in payments). At this time the car was not repaired, we were quoting the repair. We did however tell the customer that the vehicle had a hold on the car for delinquent payments and they needed to be paid to release the car. After going back and forth with payment arrangements for about a month we sent the customer an official notice of sale due to repossession.Initial Complaint

I got a truck from these folks roughly a week ago. When they first sold it to me, it was making this ticking sound. Seemed to be an exhaust leak at first. Despite having a warranty, I would have to pay out of pocket. Now the Transmission is leaking. They told me to bring it back in on Monday. I went to get it on Friday, and they said it was fixed. But it kept doing the same thing as before (couldn**;t park properly and barely move). I called them today and asked them about the car and apparently the person working on the car is sick so we are not sure if they would finish it today. If he**;s sick how is he gonna come in and fix the car.Initial Complaint

I purchased a 2010 Jeep Liberty from American Motors and it started blowing out white smoke and had lights on. I took it to Midas and they let me know it had issues with the transmission lines, radiator, and head gasket. American Motors is refusing to assist with repairs even though I let them know about these issues as soon as I got the vehicle.Business Response
Date: 09/04/2024
The customer had purchased a 2010 jeep liberty on 07/12/2024 as is with no warranty expressed or implied. On 08/20/2024 the customer had called indicating that her vehicle was overheating to the point of cutting off. She had requested us to tow the vehicle in for service. The vehicle was checked out by the service department and had been diagnosed with needing a motor. The customer had put over 2800 miles on the vehicle from the time of purchase and the vehicle had been purchased over a month prior to any overheating concerns. We did quote the customer for repairs. We are able to try to discount the labor portion of the repair if the customer would like to revisit repairing the vehicle.
