I purchased a car from *** ***** at Cahokia motors in September of 2024 . It is now January 2025 and the car does not run nor start . When I bought the car I had issues with it off jump , it would shake horribly when braking , the battery was 7 years old and not maintenanced before the car was sold , bad alternator , bad starter I could go on and on they sell you a messed up car they rig it up just enough to get you off the lot. There is no real AS IS policy they hand write it on a separate page on the contract. I keep up with my cars so every issue I had I ensured I called the business to get the problem fixed they treat their customers horrible only thing they worry about is a dollar amount , they dont fix the cars and they hound you down about a payment . Even if youre 24 hours late they come tow your car and you have to pay double the price of the note to even get it back?? **** . I was told I would be reimbursed for buying the parts / fixing the issues and have not been reimbursed anything! The car will not start so I cant make it to work they dont care instead of helping fix it they just come take the car to rig it up and sell to someone else! They dont ask for paystubs , proof of income or anything because they know they sell TRASH CARS! Thats why its so easy to get a car from them because they are scammers and only care about the dollar *** ***** and the rest of the Cahokia motors team will be dealt with accordingly . Yall picked the WRONG customer to try to get over on! We have read the complaints in the letter. We are working with this customer to get the issues fixed, and she is now aware she has to buy the parts. When she brings in the parts, we will fix at no charge for labor. and do our best to get this matter cleared up.

They are total scammers. I purchased the car with a check engine light on, and they promised to fix it but later backed out. I had to replace both front axles at my own expense. They are total scammers. I purchased the car with a check engine light on, and they promised to fix it but later backed out. I had to replace both front axles and both front and back brakes 3 tires and multiple sensors at my own expense. Additionally, I paid $1700 to address the check engine light issue and around $1500 for my registration plates, only for the engine to fail.Business Response

I bought a vehicle (07 impala ) between may 1st or 2nd & the week after that I had problems with the vehicle first the transmission went out then when they so called fixed it the car wouldn't come out of park the second day I got it back & I also purchased rotors & breaks & a mass flow senior to put on the vehicle why they had the vehicle working on the ****************** today they came & repoed my vehicle saying that I owe ***** dollars I honestly will just like my money back I gave them 2000 for the vehicleBusiness Response

******************* purchased the vehicle on 4/19/24. We did work on his transmission and he has been driving the vehicle and in less than a month put 1243 miles on it. Our vehicles are purchased as/is . We fixed the car, he bought some parts and we put them on for him. We did this at no charge for labor. The vehicle was reposessed for non payment and he has retrieved the car as of 5/16/24.

There is a tow bill now to the customer. We are waiting for him to bring the keys so we may check it out. Cars are sold as is and customers buys parts. On March 11, 2024, she went to them and bought a 2010 ******* MKZ and she put $1550 as a down payment. On March 15, she noticed various issues with the car for example the hood would pop up but it wouldn**;t stay down, issues with the tires, something grinding or rubbing. On the night of March 19 or 20, her wheel locked up on her and she had to get her car towed home. She called them the next day and they said there would be no mechanic there until Monday. She offered to have it towed to them. Once she got there, she asked to speak with the manager but he was not trying to hear what she was saying so she called the police. By this time, they had agreed to go ahead and change the brakes. When she was trying to tell them that it was not only that but there was a bungee cord under her car. The police arrived and they apparently knew each other. After she showed the pictures of what was going on that is when he stated it will be a cold day in h*** before he fixes her car. He told her to get the car off the lot. Now the car is sitting on their lot. She has not even made her first car payment yet. There is no where in the contract that says AS IS however they attached a paper to the contract but not in the contract. We want our money back.Business Response

Our cars are sold as/is and customers sign this on the buyer's guide. This car came in yesterday and we diagnosed the car needs brakes. We provide free labor for the first 30 days and bustomer buys the parts needed. All of this is discussed at the time of sale. ****************** stated it is not the brakes and she is not going to pay the $40 for the part. She refused to believe it needed brakes. On November 18, 2023, I put down ***** on a 2012 Durango at Cahokia Motors, with the promise to bring $500 back in two weeks for the remainder of the down payment. I voiced my concerns about the strong gas smell and the missing motor cover. The salesman assured me, it would not be a major problem and that I would just need a tune up and to pick up the motor cover next week. A week after purchase, the vehicle wouldnt start. I paid $300 total to replace the fuel pump and the vehicle still didnt start. Employees of the lot started calling me about the $500 payment I owed. I informed them about the issues I was having with the truck, they asked me to have it towed there so they could fix the issue. I did not have the money to do so at the time. They came and got the truck. A few days later, I went to the lot and was charged $750. $500 for the payment I owed and $250 for repo fees. I paid and asked them if they would be able to fix the truck or if I would be able to get another vehicle. I was told they would fix it because it was too late to get another vehicle. I also took a brand new starter that I paid $200 for over there for them to put it on since they said that was the issue. Two weeks later, they had me come back and get the car, just for it to stop cranking again three days later. I had it towed back for $130. And we went through this same process again. They told me the car was ready, I pick it up and thick exhaust smoke was coming thru the vents. They told me to bring the truck back Monday if the problem persists. The truck stops starting AGAIN after two days. I called them and was told to put the truck in the shop because they cant fix on it again because I keep having the same problems I never put the truck in the shop and they came and repoed the truck again last week. I do not want anything from them but to be refunded the money I spent on a truck no longer have and was only able to physically drive for two weeks total of the 2.5 months I had it.Business Response

I purchased a care two months ago today from this dealership with the engine light on I was informed that it was the o2 sensor, I went back to the dealership and they replaced the o2 sensor, and then the engine light came back on. I took the car back, and the problem was a catalytic converter, I took car back to the dealership so they can fix the car. They fixed the catalytic converter and I had to pay 250.00 for them to even fix it. , and then the next day the engine light came back on, and now the transmission is switching gears while I am driving. I contacting the dealership and spoke with the owner and he stated that I do not know what he goes through on a daily bases. I informed them that I do not want the car and they can come get the car and he informed me that I would need to pay 150.00 for a tow fee, and no refunds, and that he does not know what is wrong with the cars and that it is a as is purchase.Business Response

i have read both complaints made by Ms *****. We are trying to work with her to remedy the problems she is having. Why am I being charged a tow fee when the car is a lemon and is me not capable of being driven after only having it for 2 months. This is ridiculous! I feel jipped out of my hard earned money. I have been communicating I was told that basically nothing will be done. I’m being charged for another tow after having nothing but issues with the car since day 1. The company is milking me for more and more money and has not offered to fix a thing unless I pay for it. The transmission is no good on a car that I only have had for 2 months.
I can no longer drive the car. This is beyond ridiculous. My hard earned money is down the drain and I’m dealing with a company is insensitive about their customers. Come get the car.I just want my money back
