We began renting from Neuhaus properties in May of 2021. In March 2022, 10 months had gone by and we wanted to renew our lease for another year. We contacted our landlord and she had stated that she would contact the property managers, ***** Properties, to set up a new lease to sign for the upcoming year.In April of 2022, Neuhaus Properties informed us that we would be receiving a new lease within the upcoming weeks to renew. In May of 2022, no one had received any leases to sign. Neuhaus Properties contacted us to inform us that we needed to sign asap, but again no leases were ever given to us to sign. On June 10th, after our lease was already supposed to be signed back in May, Neuhaus Properties claimed that we never signed our lease, therefore our rent would be going up by $400/month. If we signed within 24 hours, it would only go up by $300/month. Again, no lease was ever given to us. When we contacted ***** Properties, the property managers were responsible for giving us a lease. They claimed that Neuhaus Properties never gave them the lease information to include in the renewed lease. Neuhaus Properties claimed that their rent for all properties was being raised regardless if we had signed our lease or not, which was inconsistent with what they previously said. If we had gotten the lease back in May, our rent would have been the same cost. We had ten days to find a new place since we could not afford the new rent cost. Our rent went up by $5,000/year which is impossible for three college students to make up.
