The public adjuster **** the owner of New Edge Improvement Co., had never did the work and is holding my checks when he never did the work. I signed up with them in February of 2023, and never did any work. I just want my money back for no service rendered. I am a senior citizen and I am being taken advantage of. Please help me I am 76 years old and need some help please. I ended up doing most of the work myself and had another company, ****************** do *******. They have 3 checks and cashed one for $14,464.04, and holding the other checks that I need to sign off on. I just want the rest of my money back Thanks.

    Hi,

First, we are sorry for the late reply.
We entered into a contract with ******************** in April to represent his interest in a claim with this insurance carrier, Guard, for storm damage caused to his home.

The check for $14,464.04 is for the mitigation part which was already completed.  This can also be easily verified with Guard.

Please note the check was endorsed by the homeowner.  We also discussed everything with Mr. ********* *******************.  We all met on September 18,2023

No further repairs were made because the homeowner did not authorize them.

We do not have the remaining 2 checks as the homeowner put a stop payment on them with Guard. The one we have are expired and void.

The homeowner also hired an attorney, GUE LAW LLC., and we are currently working with them on resolving this issue.  We would be happy to release the claim, however,as per signed PA agreement the homeowner is obligated to pay a % fee for all of the work we negotiated but didnt complete. We did our best to negotiate best possible settlement for the homeowner.

Definitely, no one is taking advantage of the homeowner.
If anything is the other way around.

On July 26, 2023 I received an invoice and billing of $5,621.10 for services by New Edge Improvement Company's representative, *******************************. I met with ********************** on 04/12/2023 as a result of a phone solicitation to assess damage to my roof as a result of hail damage to my home. He indicated that only contractors could make these inquiries so we agreed to move forward based on our conversation that there would be no cost to me. This was one of many inaccuracies and false statements made by **********************. When I learned from my insurance agent that his statement was not true. I knew I did not want to further my relationship and I let the *** representative know in 05/2023 that I did not trust them and no longer wanted their service. I received a call on 06/27/2023 from *********************, ************************** manager. As a result of a medical procedure on 06/01/2023 I was severely limited from using my voice so a voicemail was left for me. I called him later and left a voicemail to call me but he never responded. ********************** continued calling and showing up at my residence without calling. Consequently, my contract approval did not happen and I refused the contracts submitted to me for signature by *** to continue with contracting needed. When I was able to make a choice, I chose an approved contractor from Allstate. I have the original agreement terms from *** which require the scope of work be indicated under "General Agreement #3. This was not completed in my presence. In the agreement statement that was forwarded to me dated, 06/21/2023. *** had altered the original agreement language by checking the scope of work after my signature was secured, without my knowledge or approval.

New Edge Improvement received this paid lead from Movere TeleServicee, the lead company.  We signed the agreement with *************************** and later we were able to negotiate $18,737 with her insurance company.
However,  after we were able to get the claim approved, the homeowner decided she did not want to use us as a contractor (which is completely fine) but we do charge a service fee,  which came to $5,621.10. All details, fees and terms are listed on the contract that the customer signed (please see attached contract, specifically #6 and 7).  We emailed the homeowner if we can come to an agreement or further steps need to be taken.

I am rejecting this response because:I am attaching the Agreement Terms originally signed by myself and ********************** on 04/12/2023 that were not fully completed or explained. My signature is not on the altered agreement dated 06/21/2023, that was properly filled out. I never saw it until the last time ********************** was at my home and I refused to sign them. These documents have been attached along with the Insurance Claims Adjusters and Public Adjuster Contract that were submitted to me and I refused to sign as well, as I did not have confidence in **** ethics and transparency in our interactions. According to ******************, the initial claim is determined by their adjusters and is subject to change until final approval, which NEI did not have.

    Sincerely,

    ***************************
