We had a contract with this company and signed a contract for a set price. After not hearing from them, we reached out to find out when they were going to do the work. They initially called and said someone would be out to talk to us.We were then called and told it was an additional **** more dollars 2 or 3 days before the work was to start, after we already had a signed contract. They made the mistake, they should pay for it.. Someone came out and explainwed the work and admitted it was a mistake. A signed contract is a signed contract. We put a deposit down and was told to come pick it up. Upon arriving, it was closed. We will not do any business with this company again.Great American Exteriors, Inc. Response

Thank you for considering great American exteriors to improve your home and neighborhood. Although NO WORK WAS PERFORMED, we are sorry that you feel you were misled. It is clearly written on the contract that the additional work that you requested is not part of the contract. It's also stated in your paperwork any additional work requested will have additional cost. We are sorry we had to refund your $100 deposit. Feel free to give us a call to discuss in more detail. **********Review from Tanya K

On or about December 11, 2021, I entered into an Agreement with Great American Exteriors, Inc. to provide all necessary labor, materials and services as general contractor to remove current concrete, install new concrete, and new flue cap. Pursuant to the Agreement, Great American Exteriors, Inc. originally was to be paid for work and/or materials services at the Subject Property which amounted to $2,433.00 due upon completion of work. A deposit was made in the amount of $233 by check. On March 5, 2022, individuals who did not identify themselves, came to the subject property. The individuals were at the property for approximately an hour. The individuals left the property and in very hard to understand English stated that they needed to return because of the weather. At no point was a job completion form presented nor was one signed. At no point were old materials shown or removed from the property. Shortly thereafter, Great American Exteriors, Inc. began making payment demands. I made multiple requests for evidence that the job was completed. Great American Exteriors provided photos taken from the ground level as evidence that the work has been completed. These photos did not show any of the work that was contracted to be done from the vantage point of the roof, where the chimney is located. Great American Exteriors, Inc. failed to provide all necessary labor, material and services as general contractor to remove current concrete, install new concrete, and new flue cap on the subject property. As such, per the contact provided by Great American Exteriors, Inc., the balance is not owed as the work has not been completed. Further, Great American Exteriors owes me a refund of my deposit of $233. Not only did ****** fail to provide the contracted work, they also placed a mechanics lien on the property. We will now go through the courts. I have photos showing the old flue cap and crack in the concrete crown still exist at the property.Great American Exteriors, Inc. Response

*****, Thank you for choosing great American exteriors to improve your home. I am glad we were able to resolve your issue with the chimney. After the work was completed we attempted to contact you several times over several weeks and you left us no choice. Had you answered your phone or return your phone calls and or emails we would not have put a lien on your property. Now that the job is completed and the balance is paid in full I am happy that we are able to part as friends and wish you and your family the best. Our designers are now using the before and after pictures to help show other customers how we can fix chimney issues.Review from Robert S

If I could give no stars I would. We spoke with the company at a Home Show and they seemed very nice. When they called to confirm the appointment, we explained that we had changed our minds and wouldn't be going forward with the project. While I was explaining why we decided to hold off the rep transferred me to someone else without even telling me he was doing it! The second rep wouldn't take no for an answer. He then told me to hold on as he was going to transfer me to someone else. While on hold I just hung up. They then called me over and over until I eventually answered. The third person I spoke with identified himself as the president of the company and he was even pushier than the first two. He wouldn't let me get off the phone and even admitted to being aggressive. He said and I quote: "We are aggressive with our customers but just as aggressive with doing a good job" What in the world is that? Then when I thought I was finally getting off the phone, he told me they'd check back in and call us in a few months. When I said that wasn't necessary, he said they would anyways. I finally had to emphatically tell him we do not want any calls from his company as their corporate philosophy didn't mesh with our values we look for in a company. He kept talking and I finally had to hang up on him. What an incredibly unsettling experience, almost to the point of harassment. Maybe some people have had good work done by this company, I don't know. But I'm relieved that I'll never find out. With these tactics I can't even imagine how uncomfortable and creepy the experience would have been if a representative of this company was in our home. We're not trying to tell anyone what to do to, but wanted to share our experience. I know we'll be avoiding this company like the plague.Great American Exteriors, Inc. Response

I'm three weeks into waiting on a resolution for six windows that were tight and hard to open after install. The technician told me they would loosen up. Well, they never loosened and the tightness resulted in broken hardware. We stopped opening those windows during the pandemic and tried to schedule a repair in fall of 2020 before things went into lockdown again. Gramex stopped calling back. Well, it's now Fall of 2021 and I'm trying to get them out to get the issue fixed and they're blaming the lack of response on the manufacturer of the Havington Windows. Spoiler alert...Havington Windows is a splash page website and no number or link to the **** Effectively, Gramex is the manufacturer and their window warranty is only as good as their willingness, or ability, to stand behind it. I've had 18 windows installed and unfortunately the crew that installed the final six windows made some sort of mistake. I've been patient, but I'm beginning to sense a bigger problem. I hope they will come through and stand behind their warranty.Great American Exteriors, Inc. Response
