We are sorry to hear any customer of ours being dissatisfied with their purchase.  Mr. ****** notified us of a chattering issue with his vehicle after his purchase so we brought it in and fixed it at no charge.  It has been driven over 5000 miles since purchased in January.  We gave an option to trade it in a month or so ago.  We even held a vehicle for 3 weeks for him.  He never came to get it so it was sold.

I am rejecting this response because:

I have been working *** ***** who has not been willing to trade my car. The car he promised me was reliable when I purchased it. The finance company says they will work with me to get out of this car if the dealership will help me trade in on something more reliable. There is something serious with this car's wiring. This car has not worked right since I bought it and has been parked for months because it doesnt run.  They arent standing by their promises to make this right.

Mr. ***** says I am required to bring $3500 cash to trade.  However, my finance company says I do not need to put $3500 down.

I want to trade this car as soon as possible with no problems. Please let me know who I can work with there to get this done.

Consumer called BBB and stated he called the company yesterday and spoke with *** ***** about getting an appointment to trade the car.  Consumer stated ***** said the owner would not trade the car if it was the last thing he ever did.

Consumer says he is dissatisfied at this time and wants the car traded.

Mr ****** bought the vehicle in January.  We spent thousands to replace the transmission for him in April at no charge even though it had no warranty. We did this because we felt it was the right thing to do and that its the way we wanted him to feel about this company.  In July he stated that it had the same problem.  We had it diagnosed at no charge and found an engine code that one of his coils was arcing.  This is considered a regular maintenance issue.  However, we replaced the coils and plugs for him at no charge as he stated financial difficulty at the time.  We also found his air conditioner to be blowing hot and repaired it as well in good faith.  He stated dissatisfaction with his vehicle needing these repairs/maintenance in just 6 months so in order to satisfy Mr ****** we tried to trade him out of the vehicle.  After discounting the new vehicle over $2600 (below our cost at this figure) we still found that due to the loan to value limits of his approval, there was still a $3200 deficit needed to complete the transaction.  Mr ****** stated that he had $1500 available and needed 2 weeks to come up with the balance. We waited 3 weeks for Mr Horton to save up the needed funds but never heard from him.

After responding to the first complaint, we received a review from Mr ****** as follows :  (copied and pasted from Google)

"Lemon automotive is the worst dealership ever very racist they like to take advantage of people based on there skin color they won't help the salesman *** I'm surprised nobody ain't hurt him he lies so much sold me a 2017 ford Taurus had six months been in shop all six months got me stuck with a car loan and a car that won't work stop in the middle of traffic those guys will scam I'm sharing this hoping it will help someone don't glo to this dealership"

Considering that the vehicle has been driven over 5000 miles since purchased, there is no warranty, and the fact that Mr Horton has referred to us as as racists and insinuating violence may be warranted, we feel that there is no obligation to this customer nor any resolve at this time or in the future that would be satisfactory to both parties.

Hello and my name is ****** ****** I’m inquiring about some help and a possible resolution for a vehicle I purchased from Lehman Automotive in Eureka, IL. I purchased a 2010 Buick Enclave on May 18, 2022 and shortly after purchasing the vehicle I made a huge move from Peoria, IL to San Antonio, TX…. Not wanting to put wear and tear and miles on the vehicle; I towed it on the back of the Uhaul we drove down with all our belongings. Shortly after that, on exactly July 3, 2022 the vehicle broke down on me while driving to pick up my 16 year old daughter from the airport, causing me to have to have her uber to O’Reilys where my car was disabled. It was a horrible experience for my daughter, especially with it being the first time she had ever flown and on top of that in a new city and state all alone, I wasn’t even able to pick her up (extremely sad). At that time I checked under the hood, just to check the fluids and everything, and I realized that there was NO oil, NO coolant, not even windshield washer fluid; and I have never used the windshield washing fluid. So my first thought was that Lehman Automotive NEVER even “serviced” the vehicle prior to me purchasing it. At that point I had become extremely concerned that the vehicle I just so recently purchased was going to have a locked up engine. At that point I had the vehicle towed ($130) to Pep Boys because it would not drive, paid $100 for an oil change, thinking that would help the issue, BUT it did NOT. So I had to then have it towed (another $100) to an automotive shop here in San Antonio, where they inspected the vehicle and ran codes to figure out what was wrong. They found that the vehicle’s ENTIRE exhaust system was completely damaged and needing to be replaced… estimating a total of $3000.00 in repairs, but they recommended a second opinion from an actual Buick dealer; which was extremely NICE of them to not just repair what they THOUGHT was wrong and rip me off. PLEASE CALL ME, TO LONG TO FINISH ********

Thank you for reaching out to me on the Buick unfortunately with the vehicle being in Texas we were not able to look at the vehicle and diagnosis it ourselves. We take pride the vehicles that we sell. This vehicle had high miles but was in very good shape. We do a used car check list and oil change of every vehicle that goes in our dealership. I have records on Carfax on the services we did before the vehicle was put on our lot. The costumer signed as is document stating they bought the vehicle as is. We would've inspected the vehicle of no charge an diagnosed as well if the costumer was local in the area. There is no possible way the vehicle was out of oil, coolant, and washer solvent. I suspect the vehicle was not diagnosed correctly but instead of diagnosing one cat converter they replaced all three. I'm sorry this costumer had the issue she did but unfortunately there is no crystal ball that can predict the future of a used vehicle. Please reach out to us if there is anything else we can do. We pride ourselves on having A+ rating with the better business bureau. If you would like any of the documentation on Carfax or the vehicle checklist get ahold of me and we will send it to you.
