On 10/24/24, I took my 2019 black ****** Kicks to Quick Stop for repairs. They kept my car overnight. On 10//25, after sunset, I returned, paid the bill, $955.33, and got my car. While driving, felt a draft and heard a lot of noise. Drove to my first stop, ******** 95th and Western, parked my car in a corner spot, where no one on the drivers side could park next to me. Returned to my car, drove to my next stop. While driving, also saw a gap in rear driver side door. Continued to my second stop, 87th and Kedzie, parked under a streetlight, examined my car. Saw white scratch marks on rear driver-side door. Called Quick Stop, they were closed; left a message. Finished my second errand, went to the ********************************, filed a report. Morning of 10/26, I returned to speak to shop owner **** ******. He was not there. I left, returned around 11am, and spoke to him. He said he reviewed the cameras but didnt see anything. (However, in a later conversation, he shared that they parked my car across the street in ******************* parking lot unattended for hours.) He denied responsibility for the damage yet offered to cover the repair cost, referred me to *********************** and instructed me to get an estimate. I got the estimate (about $5000) and delivered a copy to **** on 11/7. Given the cost, he said he would have to go through his insurance. Before doing so, he offered $2000 to settle the damage. I declined because I would have to pay $3000 for something I did not cause. After several days of no updates, I called **** and he gave me his agents number. On 11/29, I called, then got a return call on 12/2. I emailed a copy of the police report. On 12/9 I called **** for an update and was told that claim was denied, stating that my car could have been damaged after I picked up my vehicle. I reexplained to him that my car was not, and could not, have been damaged after I took possession of my vehicle. I ended the call to call my insurance company.

To whom it may concern, on 10/25/24 Quick Stop provided service on Mrs. ********** ****** Kicks. After completing repairs the car was parked and retrieved for Mrs. ********* Upon her arrival at 6:00PM the vehicle was brought to the front lot for Mrs. ******** and she drove off.

On 10/26/24 I **** ****** listened to a voicemail recording by Tanye. Tanye explained about body damage. I Contacted her to get the body shop estimate and contacted ***************** ***** ***** at ********* and Hathway ************ Reporting the accident. This is normal protocol for an insurance claim. ***** provided a body shop estimate which was immediately faxed to *****. Approximately 1 week later I was contacted by ******************** representative. She explained that the claim was denied due to the fact Mrs. ******** made 2 stops after the car was retrieved from Quick Stop.

During the time the vehicle was here at Quick Stop no body damage was acknowledged. In the event of any mishap Mrs. ******** would have been contacted by Quick Stop immediately. Not only is she a respected customer, but she is a repeat customer. The integrity of ******************** Stop is very important to us.

Quick Stop followed protocol and any further claims should be addressed to Quick **************** representative Mrs. ***** ***** at ************

      Sincerely,

      Customer Answer

      Complaint: 22890800

I am rejecting this response because:

The information provided in the response is wrong and I explained to the owner the series of events that occurred after I left the shop.  Again, please keep in mind that this situation took place after sunset and my car is black.

1.) I explained that while I was driving to the first stop, ******* on 95th and Western, my car was not operating normally.  Specifically, I was feeling a draft and hearing more outside noise. Upon arrival to *******, I parked in a corner spot next to tree located on the driver side of my vehicle.  So there is no way my car would have been damaged at that stop.

2.) While driving to my next stop, the problems were still present. When I went to my next stop, I parked my car under a street light to see what was going on with my car. That's when I realized that it was damaged. I then immediately called Quick Stop to see if anyone was still there, but got their voicemail. I left a message.  I then took the next step and went to the ***************************** to file a report. So, again, my car could not have been damaged there when I parked, got out the car, stepped backed from the vehicle, and then realized that it was damaged. That's when I called Quick Stop.

3.) What the owner excludes from his response, is: a.) his cameras do not provide 24/7 coverage of my vehicle; b) he admitted that they left my vehicle across the street in the ****************** parking lot for hours, unattended.  He also said that someone could have damaged my car then, but he did not know because he stated that his cameras do not cover that area.

The conclusion that his insurance company made was absolutely wrong.  They did not listen to my account of the situation because they are trying not to pay for the damages.  ************ contact told me that calls were made to them about this and got no response.

I would also like to add that I am not the only person whose vehicle was received damaged within the past few months and Quick Stop is denying responsibility for the damage.  Please refer to ******************************; So, this appears to be more common than we see. Which makes me wonder how many more customers had the same unfortunate experience at this shop.

      Sincerely,

      ***** ********

      To Whom It May Concern
Please be advised that Quick Stop resubmitted this claim to its insurance company. They asked us to contact Mrs. ******** to ask if there is any video footage of her other two stops in which she went shopping after picking up the vehicle. Quick Stop and the insurance company would very much like to view any video that she may have. Other than our own video. We look forward to a quick resposne.

I am rejecting this response because:

If I had the video, I would have submitted it to the insurance company when they asked for a copy of the police report.  Nonetheless, when I attempted to get a copy of the video at *******, I was told that the police and/or insurance company would have to request a copy of it.  Plus, from what I was allowed to see, the video at the ******* was too dark to show where my car was parked, simply because it was night time.  Maybe if the insurance company can obtain a copy, they could possibly increase the brightness to see where I parked.

For the video in the parking lot on 87th and Kedzie, I did not know who to contact.  Maybe the insurance company would be able to obtain a copy.  Then they will see when I got out of my car, saw the damage, then called Quick Stop.

      Sincerely,

      ***** ********

      RE: **********************;
ON September 18th ************************* dropped off her **** escape on a tow truck with the serpentine belt ripped off the car and A/C compressor was locked up. The car started overheating due to the fact the serpentine belt also goes around the water pump/alternator. It was acknowledged it was necessary to replace the locked up compressor to put the vehicle back on the road. After the A/C compressor was replaced it was brought to Mrs. ***** attention that the freon will not stay in the system due to the fact that the evaporator is leaking. She didn't care as the temperature was 62 degrees that day. Though it was documented and she was told, she did not care. She drove off, Everything was documented about the leak.

Around March 9 she arrived saying she has no AC and we once again told her in strong detail that charging the system will not keep the freon in the vehicle as the evaporator has a leak. 3 days later she returned and we once again had to explain that the evaporator is leaking the freon out.
This continued 3 more times, we recommended that she replace the evaporator to solve the problem, but she declined, claiming that she had paid for the compressor and won't pay for any other repairs. Time and time again we have shown ************ the existing problem with evaporator seeping freon as we had on Sept. 18th. Quick stop has gone to all extremes to try to explain it to ************, but to no avail Each and every occasion she has been loud and aggressive. Though her original problem she paid for has been resolved

      Sincerely
      Rich Texas
