Shipwit sent me an agreed quote to ship a Prius from ******** to **********, ** for a total cost $670. The quote consist of a Reservation Fee: $170.00 paid up front and a COD Amount: $500.0 that must be paid in Certified Funds on delivery to the carrier. The carrier called me the same day to arrange pickup of the vehicle which I rushed out to retrieve and prepare because the driver was on his way. The carrier also told me they agreed to ship the car for $670 with shipwit. I called shipwit and was told they would look into the discrepancy ($500 vs $670) I got an email from shipwit saying the carrier refused to ship the car for remaining balance of $500 and they would look for another carrier but made it clear that $670 is the best they can do. I asked for a refund and was told (on 10/05) it would take 3-5 days. On 10/10 I emailed shipwit to inquire about the refund but got no response. I just want the $170 reservation fee which shipwit agreed to refund because I believed I was deceived because the carrier told me they never agreed to ship the car for the $500 shipwit quoted me. When I asked the shipwit rep why he quoted me a different price from what the carrier expected he said because I asked for a price match from a competitor and I changed the delivery location. Once again these comments are very deceptive because they occurred before he quoted/emailed me the total price of $670 & before I gave him my credit card info.

The reason why we rejected the refund was that this order was Double Posted by *******. This means they hired multiple brokers while being under contract with us. Incidentally this is also why the carriers that service this route asked for more money becuase the other broker had the same vehicle listed to the same load board for more money that we did. We dispatched out a carrier (not knowing this at the time) and send the client their info. After receiving their info the client requested to cancel and when we called the carrier they informed us that the same order was double posted. This is a violation of our terms of service which we included below. Also even at $670, the carrier rate was significantly lower than other listings on the same route so we actually still secured a low price for the shipper based on market pricing.

I am rejecting this response because:I did not violate the terms of service. I never agreed to ship my car with another company, I simply got an estimate and told shipwit up front that I had an estimate of $700 from another company and they said they could do it for less with no cancellation fee! When I initially enquired about shipping my car I thought I was dealing with one shipping company but to my surprise I received a lot of emails from brokers offering to match competitors offers and one of them was shipwit! Also  shipwit has already agreed to refund the reservation fee with an email saying it will arrive in 3-5 days and never mentioned a term of service violation until now. See attached emails

We do not have any record of this but we do have clear proof that we dispatched out a carrier and we provide the terms of service on all shipments to all clients. The terms are actually included in the order confirmation email then in the dispatch confirmation email as well. It is the clients responsibility to read them and the text is in very large print. We even publish them in full on our website. Our company did extensive work on the order. We feel we should be paid for this work. At the same time we want to make everyone happy. We are willing to issue the client a refund for $100 and retain the $70 difference in order to cover labor and processing fees. Even with that we are still losing money on the shipment. Contractually we are not required to issue any refund in this case but we will make this offer in hopes of reaching a satisfactory resolution for all parties involved. Thank you.

After gathering quotes from 5 transporters, on 08/07/22 I contacted ShipWit to transport my vehicle from ************, ************ to ********** **************. I spoke with a representative by name to *******************. She was very pleasant and answered any question I had. After price negotiation, *********************** offered ShipWit will transport my car from ************ ** to ********** ** for $510.00. Before I placed the order, I specifically asked ************** if there were any hidden fees that I needed to know, to which she replied no, unless the price of gas goes up than it was on the days I placed the order, and if the price should go up, it wouldn't be be more than $50.00. ************** asked I pay $170.00 deposit to secure my order. I received an email invoice from ************** detailing my order: the pick up location, date, as well as the drop off location. The invoice also states the $170.00 deposit I paid and a balance of $340.00 due upon delivery of the vehicle. On 08/10/22, I received an email from ShipWit with the carrier's information. The email also contained a different quote from what we had agreed, instead of the balance of $340.00, ShipWit is asking I pay additional $550.00 with the $170.00 deposit I paid, making the total charge $720.00, this is $210.00 more than what ************** had asked for. I was not informed about the price change before the email. From 08/11/22 - 08/14/22 I tried contacting ************* by phone numerous time and left several messages. I finally was able to talk to ************** on 08/15/22 about the price change only for her to tell me there is shortage of drivers and that was what the carrier was charging and there's nothing she could do about it. I asked ************** to cancel the order and refund the $170.00, she refused and said the carrier has already been dispatched and could not be canceled. I am requesting a price adjustment to the initial quote of $510.00, I wasn't notified about the price change before the carrier was dispatched.

    Business Response

    Date: 08/18/2022

Thank you for reaching out. The reason why we didnt know about the rate increase until the vehicle was dispatched is because until that Carrier requested a load no other drivers in the country wanted to ship the vehicle for less. Since we use the same load board and work with the same exact carriers that every company in the country does, We can say with full confidence that we still secure the lowest rate possible for the shipper. In fact, the national average on this route is $600+ per spot. There are loads for as high as $800 still posted and without carrier interest on this same exact route. Please see attachment as proof. Lastly, the destination was significantly off-route for most carrier compsnies since they are trying to stay on the I-95 corridor when servicing ** and most East Coast states. ShipWit always secures the lowest rates available for shippers and that is what we did here. We are beholden to a love and sometimes fluctuating market no different than real estate, Crypto Currency or Stocks and every carrier request has an email that goes out. There is no obligation to use the carrier requesting the load. Shippers should not agree to use a carrier then afterwards demand rate adjustments. Thank you.

I am rejecting this response because:

    Sincerely,

Comfort Amoaforo I did not agree to the dispatch of the particular dispatcher, I think I could have had a lower rate from other carriers I had talked to. Paying $720.00 from the agreed $510.00 is not a fair amount in my opinion. When ShipWit knew they weren't able to honor the quoted price, I should have been contacted. I denied a refund because I was told the carrier has already been dispatched, that was on 08/15/22. As of today 08/18/22, I have not heard from Efreifg Express LLC, I have called and left messages. All I'm asking is a reduction in price because I was promised a price match which I provided all the quotes I received ***** other companies.

    Business Response

    Date: 08/18/2022

Yes that is an important point that our initial quote was lower but no carriers wanted it for less. We can undispatch E-freight and relist for the initial quoted amount. We cannot make this or any carrier accept a load for a rate they do not want to ship for. We also disagree that the shipper would ************** for less elsewhere becuase companies like su all use the same load board and work with the same pool of carriers. Thank you.

I disagree with ShipWit response  to the issue at hand.  I was not told the truth by ShipWit, I should have been offered to accept or decline to pay $210.00 more than the quoted price.  I feel forced to accept the order, I had other quotes from 5 other transport company which I  made ************** aware, and she stressed the price wouldn't go up more than $50.00 to $100.00 base on her experience.  I even made reference to a complaint I read on the BBB website about the same issue at hand, and she promised that will not happen, and this is exactly where I find myself.  ShipWit was not truthful and transparent with me.  After I paid the $170.00 deposit I received an email receipt stating a balance of $340.00, meaning the deposit had been deducted from $510.00.  Two days later a different email stating a different amount with no warning or asking whether I am okay paying that amount. I called ************** and she told me the deposit I paid is separate from the quoted price.  My question to ShipWi is if that is the case, why was I issued a receipt stating otherwise. I feel robbed and deceived.  All I ask is a price reduction, since they will not refund my deposit.

On August 15, 2022, I communicated via email and text and phone calls (all recorded) to ship my car to another state. I was quoted $920. When we set up the appointment, ******************* GUARANTEED the quote and that ONLY $720 (after the $170 deposit was paid) would be due upon delivery in ********. Today (8/15/2022) ShipWit responds "oh due to a shortage of drivers, the cost has increased exponentially". UNACCEPTABLE. We are requesting immediate refund of the $170 deposit and for this review to be known to ALL of those looking to ship their cars. Avoid "bait and switch" companies like "ShipWit".

Thank you for reaching out. The initial quote was provided for a regular INOPERABLE vehicle. We did not know that this was just a shell that requires a forklift to load and unload. We list every shipment to the ******************* for every working carrier to see. This means that every single driver that services auto shipping on this route saw the vehicle and refused to ship for less than $1200. In fact every carrier wanted $1400+ for this. Besides this being a load requiring forklifting on both ends (this makes taking other cars along the way very difficult for a multi-car carrier) the delivery location was in **************** where there are no other shipments going to from ********. Please see attached screenshots of map and other loads listed offering significantly more money than $1200 and those listings still dont have carriers. Lastly it is important to point out that ShipWit is a marketplace and we always make this clear to shippers. Its even in our phone greeting. The truth is there simply were no other carriers willing to ship for less, despite us doing all we can to make that happen. We sent the shipper the carriers info and rate request prior to pickup. Thank you.

This is not the case at all. We actually connected the shipper to a carrier company called US ROAD **** and the client REJECTED their dispatch becuase he double booked this with multiple brokers. We have a clause in our terms regarding this:

    https://shipwit.com/terms_of_use

    Fees and payments terms

ShipWit.com will provide the Services to you subject to this Agreement, and you agree to pay for the Services when due by valid debit/credit card. You are responsible for paying any and all fees and charges that are not outlined in this Agreement. Such fees and charges shall include, but are not limited to, storage fees, if the vehicle is not scheduled as an inoperable vehicle but turns out to be and if there is more than 200lbs of personal items inside the vehicle additional charges may incur. Please let us or your agent know of such in advance to avoid any unnecessary fees and charges.

Please keep in mind that we utilize the ************** so by working with us you gain full access to every legally operating carrier.

    Refund & cancellation policy

Refunds are issued at any time prior to an actual carrier being assigned and scheduled to pick up your vehicle. Once a driver is in route to pick up the vehicle, and if you request cancellation after the driver arrives, we will have to retain the reservation charge in order to pay the driver for time and fuel lost on the shipment. To avoid any unnecessary charges, please make your cancellation requests prior to the vehicle being dispatched for pickup.

    Chargebacks

If we receive a chargeback or payment dispute (i.e. charge dispute) from a credit card company or bank a $50 chargeback fee (issued to recover fees passed on to us by the credit company), plus any outstanding balances accrued as a result of the chargeback(s) must be paid in order to avoid being placed in collections. Instead of issuing a chargeback, please contact us to address any billing issues. Requesting a chargeback or opening a dispute for a valid charge from us is FRAUD, and is never an appropriate or legal means of obtaining a refund. Please read and make sure you fully understand our refund policy prior to making a payment.

    Cancellation Notification

All cancellations must be made directly over the phone or in writing via email to ******************************** Cancellation requests will only be processed if made by the initial authorizing party and if received in writing or via email from the registered email account. Once a cancellation request is made, it is the initial authorizing partys responsibility to ensure that ShipWit.com is in receipt of the cancellation notification.
ShipWit.com reserves the right disable and/or terminate a users account if a user is found in violation of the terms. Accounts terminated due to policy violations will not be refunded.

On May 23, 2022, I received a quote from Shipwit.com to transport my vehicle from *********, ** to *********, **. The quote price was $1,050, and required a deposit of $170 which I paid for on May 23, 2022. The quote states the vehicle will be shipped within 1 to 4 days of the quote. The vehicle should have been picked up by May 27, 2022. I, and my daughter (who I am shipping the car to) have called several times only to receive the run around. We have been told serval times the vehicle will be expedited, which has not happened yet since the vehicle has not been picked up. I am requesting the following:1) Ship.wit pick up my vehicle immediately, but no later than June 8, 2022 2) Refund my deposit of $170 so I can look for other transporters to ship my vehicle. I appreciate your assistance in this matter. I have uploaded

    Business Response

    Date: 06/04/2022

Hello. We have been working on securing a carrier for this shipment. The issue is diesel prices are very high on the west coast and there are carrier shortages nationwide (since many drivers are leaving and going in to freight transport for the previously mentioned reason). The companies that are still servicing this route are asking for more than previously agreed on per spot. The reason this vehicle has not been assigned to a carrier yet is our dispatchers have been trying to get a lowered rate from carriers for this shipper. The prices from NV-GA have increased to $1400+ per spot. Please see attached screenshots as proof. That is taken from third party sources. These are not OUR prices. ShipWit is a broker or shipping marketplace. We charge $170 for listing the vehicle on the National Load board for ALL carriers to see and then those carriers have to decide whether they take the vehicle for that price or pass on it. The previously listed price is currently too low. No matter what company the shippers finds online and no matter what they quote them, the same factors will be in lay and they will be again posted to the same exact board for the same exact carriers. This means the only way to get the vehicle to ship is to offer $1400+ to the carriers. We can do this for them if they want us to do that. Otherwise we can cancel and issue the full refund. Thank you.

I am rejecting this response because: The quote shipwit provided in writing on May 23, 2022 was $1050.  Shipwit required a deposit of $170 which I paid on May 23, 2022.  Yesterday, June 6, I received a message that shipwit subleased my request to CRC Solutions, and a CRC employee came and picked up the vehicle with no notice. The quote from shipwit indicated that my vehicle would be picked up by May 27, 2022 and it wasnt picked up until June 6.  I should not be subjected to price gouging do to shipwits or subsidiaries failure to pick up my vehicle in the 1-4 days they contracted for. No other business can get away with increasing the amount of a contracted service.  Nevertheless, I am willing to pay $1400 total with according to the June 6, 2022 quote attached.  this transporter and its affiliates due to their deliberate attempts to drive up cost.  I owe a balance of $1230 upon the delivery of my vehicle.  I have provided additional information that shows the initial 23 May quote, and the June 6, 2022 quote.

    Sincerely,

    Business Response

ShipWit is a marketplace. We do not have any control as to when a private carrier company will request the pick up and how much they are willing to ship for. We do however, do everything in our power to get the carriers to agree to ship for the lowest rate possible and for the listed prices. According to our statistics carriers agreed to ship for listed prices more than 90% of the time on all routes but sometimes, due to reasons and factors that are completely out of our control, the carrier companies that service a particular route may refuse to ship for the listed price. Unfortunately there have been severe carrier shortages nationwide as many drivers are leaving the auto transport industry and going into freight since theres less stops per load and less fuel expenses in that industry. Fuel is at a record high right now. We completely reject the notion that there was any sort of price gouging when in reality this carrier agreed to ship the vehicle for hundreds of dollars less than what many other loads are currently still listed for on this route. The reality is the initial quote that the client asked us to list for was significantly lower than the average rate on that route to begin with and after the vehicle was posted the prices on most routes had risen due to the previously mentioned reasons. As mentioned by the client themselves we only charged $170 and that is for us to secure a carrier at the lowest available rate, check their licensing and insurance and provide logistical and customer service support to both parties. In fact, when carriers refuse to ship for the list of prices, our dispatchers and other customer service agents have to do more work on the order then otherwise so it isnt in our best interest for this to occur. We are not the transporter. We do however provide the clients with all the transporter companies information prior to pick up and they have ample time to either except or reject their offers. The vehicle could not have been picked up without somebody authorizing them to do so and then signing the carrier companys **** of lading on pick up. Thank you.

I am rejecting this response because:CRC Solutions pulled up to my house and called me as he drove up to pick up my car.  I received an email about 6:30 am yesterday, 6 June stating they found a courier, and my pick date was for the same day, 6 June 2022.  I had no time to decline the offer because the driver called me when he pulled up near my house to pick up the vehicle.  I am glad the car has been picked up, but I am deeply disappointed that I had no time to consider the increased price because the increased quote arrived a few hours before the driver pulled up. IT just seems to me that their our no national regulations to govern the auto transport industry.  I should not have to incur additional cost.  Shipwit receives quotes, doesn't pick up the vehicle within the 4 days stated in the quote, and then holds the customer liable for ridiculous increases in the documented quote they provided.  This feels like racketeering. I am willing to pay$1,230 upon delivery since I already paid a deposit.  These transporters know just what they are doing by purposely not meeting deadlines so they can shake customers down for more money.  As a government employee and a military retiree, this is absolutely disgraceful.

We have been using a new CRM and some older orders may have been archived. ****, please provide your order #. The facts are ShipWit is not a car transporter, we are a marketplace. This fact is never hidden and even when you call our main number the greeting says ShipWit the auto transport MARKETPLACE and its all over our website and emails as well. We provide an estimate based on the average cost per load that carriers are shipping for. Otherwise we have no way of providing rates since we rely solely on third party carriers. By the way, all the prices that you receive from all the other brokers/marketplaces are exactly just that - an estimate and we all work with the same pool of carriers. After we provide a quote, we have to list the vehicle to the ************** for all carriers to consider. If there were no carriers willing to ship your vehicle for the estimated price then there is a specific reason for that.perhaps your vehicle was too large or the locations were not along a common route for drivers and wanted to be compensated for the extra drive time etc. In recent months the diesel prices have been rising very high and because of this carriers have been refusing to ship for less than their desired rates. Many drivers have been leaving the industry and going into traditional freight transport resulting in price per spot on the other carriers that are working trailers to increase. Auto transport is a live and fluctuating market - like real estate, like the stock market, like crypto etc. ShipWit NEVER charges any customer more than our initial connection fee and we always do everything in our power to secure the lowest rates possible for shippers. Lastly, whenever a carrier does request a load, our system is designed to automatically send the customer an email with that carriers company name, date and price request. The price is always on there and shippers are made aware prior to pickup of what each carrier is willing to ship for. After this, the third party carrier company is supposed to also confirm the rate themselves on each shipment. The accusations that our company charged any shipper more than what we always charge is baseless and inaccurate. We always try to resolve all issues. **** you can contact our management direct at ******************************** if you like. Thank you.

******* we are in no way "passing the blame." We are stating facts. ShipWit is a marketplace. We not only never hide this fact but it literally all over our website, quotes and even in our phone greeting. We are NOT the transporter or carrier. We charge a one time fee of $170 for connecting shippers to carriers. We put the vehicle out via the ******************* for all carriers to see and then its up to them to accept that rate or not. We have no control over what third party companies do. Getting mad at us that a carrier didn't want to ship your vehicle for the price you wanted is like getting mad at a real estate agent that there were no buyers willing to pay the listed price for your house. I think there was a fundamental misunderstanding of who we are and what we do and for this we apologize. We did all we could to make it known in advance and unfortunately it somehow didn't register. Either way, as in all cases, we do everything possible to get shippers the lowest rates possible. The auto transportation industry has been hit every hard due to record high diesel prices and due to this many carrier drivers are leaving and going in to freight since there is much less stops and they make more per load. This is resulting in the carriers that are left charging more than the average rates. These things are not our fault and there is no way we could have foreseen or prevented carriers simply refusing to ship your vehicle for the rate you wanted them to. Lastly, we send a dispatch email to all customers once a carrier requests the load and that has the dates and price and this is all done prior to pickup to avoid confusion or problems and delivery. The shipper has ample time to reject the carrier's offer. Then when the carrier arrives he also provided paperwork with pertinent info prior to loading the vehicle. Thank you for taking the time to read our response.

I am rejecting this response because: Shipwit *****D me a price!! Shipwit hired a transporter!! Shipwits transporter picked up my vehicles after i reminded them!! Shipwits transporter delivered the vehicles several days after they were supposed to be delivered!! It was Shipwits transporter that DEMANDED I pay an additional $500.00 before they would unload my cars!! I chose Shipwit to pick up and deliver the cars BECAUSE of the pickup and delivery time along with the price!!! None of the above was ACCOMPLISHED!!! The ***** Shipwit gave me was VERY INACURATE!!!! I could of had the cars shipped EARLIER AND LESS EXPENSIVE by MANY other carriers!!  AND.Shipwits  example of buying a house and not liking the price!!!! NO it would be like buying a house the realtor was asking $120,000 Offering to pay the full price the realtor asked for, and then getting to the closing after you had gone to the bank with the contract for the $120,000 house getting the money for the $120,000 house, THEN going to the closing and the price CHANGES to $170,000!!!!!!!!!

I contacted shipwit to ship my car on May 26th from ************, ******* to ******** ******** on April 28, 2022 and given a price of 890$ with a deposit of 170$ and pay the rest when my car was dropped off which is 720$. I was told it would take 4 days and someone would contact me, which is May 2nd. I never got a call or email. So I called on May 10th spoke with ******* who said he would send out a emergency call to dispatch and that he would sent me an email letting me know what's what. He didn't say it would cost any more money or anything. I never received the email so I called back today May 19th and spoke with ******* again and he said the he was going to do the same thing he told me he was going to do on May 10th. I asked him who the owner of the business is and he said ********************* and his phone number is ************. **** called me in the middle of me filing this complaint. He tried to say that my quote was 980$ and I told him no it was 890$ and I already paid my deposit if 170$, and I was never told it would cost me more money. He said I should hear from someone in the next couple of days. I informed him that I fly out May 27th so noone will be here to give them the keys to my car, which means I would have to pay money to have my flight moved to another time. He said he didn't see that happening.

Our dispatchers had a carrier interesting in loading the vehicle and we sent all their info to the client. It was for the dates they requested. I will include their info below. By the time this happened ****** requested a cancelation. Per company policy if a customer canceled post dispatch is confirmed we cannot issue the refund because we have to pay the carrier company a dry-run fee. I will try to see if we can get ************* to waive their fee and then we can issue the client a refund. Otherwise we are being debited twice for reasons we had no control over (ShipWit is not to blame for there not being a single other carrier willing to load the vehicle sooner, or for less). Please ask ****** to contact me directly at ******************************** as we want to reach a satisfactory resolution for all parties involved. Thank you.

I think the shippers response answers the main issue here: there were no carrier companies willing to accommodate the clients requests despite us trying on multiple occasions. We issued a FULL REFUND to the client upon cancellation and had no way of making any private carriers do something that they didnt want to do. We should not be blamed for things we could not have prevented or had the ability to control. The shipper rejected the carrier we did have available. That carrier refused to do the job for less. We wish this worked out since we actually lost money on the order due to labor costs, processing fees and listing charges. We refunded the shipper the day that she requested a cancellation. Thank you.

Hello. The connection fee of $170 is a fee that ShipWit charges for connecting shippers to carriers and also for checking their insurance. In addition to this we provide logistical support and customer service to both parties (shipper and carrier). We should be paid for this service. There are also expenses associated with labor and processing fees for being able to perform these tasks. ShipWit did not charge the shipper anything extra whatsoever. In fact the rates from FL-NV are currently $1300-$1600 per vehicle to the carrier and we secured a carrier for the client for $1200 on delivery which is a very low price. Please see attached screenshots of other listings still in need of carriers on this exact route from other brokers. There are market fluctuations on carrier rates due to diesel prices and other factors that neither ShipWit nor any other shipping marketplace can foresee or prevent. The client had to have confirmed the carrier companies dispatch request in order for them to pick up the vehicle. We genuinely did everything possible to get the shipper the best rates available for carriers and did so successfully. Thank you.
