I placed an order with Dadant & Sons, attempted to reach them after I placed my order and paid for the order and 10 days went by with no shipping confirmation. I finally reached someone who said it hasn’t shipped and I told them I want to cancel and want a refund. I was told she wasn’t sure how long it would take to refund my money. I’d like assistance in getting this credited back. Thank you.Business response

On October 26, 2021, I ordered 2 beekeeping moisture boxes from ****** (*******). The advertising photos shown online are of much higher quality than the 2 that arrived at my address. It looks like the person who made these boxes stapled together as many as possible in the shortest amount to ***e possible. There is insufficient attention to detail. PROBEM: merchandise quality shown online is higher than product shipped to my address. 3 ****** employees told me the boxes, ordered by Tuesday morning October 26th, would arrive by Friday, October 29th. I ordered and paid $88.00 for assured delivery on October 29th, but they arrived LATE on Monday, November 1st. When I spoke with ***** in ***** about this problem, he appeared unconcerned about what was promised and what actually happened. He told me "this is the new normal". On November 2nd, I called the shipping manager in Hamilton, IL to request a refund of $88.00. After waiting for a long ***e on hold, the assistant manager heard my request and said the requested refund "isn't going to happen." So I attempted, without success, to address this matter with *** ******. ****** *** at UPS said delivery by October 29th was impossible as shipping from ***** started with 3 days of travel on highways going south from ***** to the UPS hub in Ontario before the package would fly north to Alaska. As a courtesy to me, UPS refunded $88.00 to ****** with the expectation that ****** would refund this amount to me. UPS was required to refund the shipping charges to the shipper. After nearly one month, ****** has not refunded $88.00 to me. PROBLEM: ****** owes me $88.00 All of my attempts to speak with ****** management in Hamilton, IL have been unsuccessful. Each ***e I called, the person I asked to speak with was either away or on the phone. I left several voicemail messages that were not returned promptly. Rather than continue to try to discuss these problems directly with ******, a BBB complaint is in order.Business response

We have reviewed the complaint and have attempted to contact the customer numerous times. None of the major shipping companies are guaranteeing ship times currently and we have instructed our employees not to either. We have decided to refund the $88.00 shipping since, per customer complaint, UPS will be refunding us and not the customer. We also have decided to refund the boxes the customer questioned the quality on. Refunding total order of 190.58 today.
