      I purchased a vehicle from Windy City motors February 29th 2024. The vehicle has given me problems since day one,Ive given them multiple chances to repair the vehicle, only to get the vehicle back with the same problem. Only had the vehicle five weeks and out of those five they were repairing the vehicle 3.5 weeks.

      Ms. *********** has brought her car into our service department for a issue that she says is happing to her when she drives the car. Every time she brings the car it is not showing to have any mechanical issues and performs normal when it is in our possession. We have done some preventive maintenance and even contacted the manufacturer to see if they could help identify the condition. Without it having any problems it is imposable to identify if there is a issue to repair.

      All repairs have been done out of good will and we have never asked her to pay for any inspection time or for the maintenance we have done to try to help.

      On Saturday March 9, 2024 I was shopping online for a vehicle and came across an advertisement for a 2021 ********** Mirage G4 SE for $1 on Cars.com from automobile retailer Windy City Motors. I called the automobile dealer and told them that I wanted to purchase said vehicle and was refused sale. The manager man that I spoke with was extremely rude and hung the phone up on me. Unfortunately, I was unable to get the managers name before he told me the vehicle wasn't for sale and hung up the phone. The dispute that I have with Windy City Motors is that I would like them to honor the online advertisement that they have listed on Cars.com for the 2021 ********** Mirage G4. This is falsely advertising a vehicle, I feel to lore people to their website or company. This advertisement was seen on Cars.com today Saturday March 9, 2024 about 11:30AM. I took screenshots of said advertisement and will include those with this complaint/dispute so that they can not deny the advertisement and hopefully be made to uphold their original ad price for said vehicle.

      The car that you saw has been updated priced at $13,895.00 and we are more then willing to sell it to you. When you were searching at the car had been auto uploaded to cars.com and as such has a default price of what you saw. This was to be in no way the final price or the selling price going forward. If you read the disclaimer at the bottom of the ad it will tell you that price is subject to change without notice.

      When you called our store you said is that price correct and the responce was no that is a default price and it would be updated shortly. It was futher explained to you that it had **** auto uploaded to Car.com overnight and as you could see there was no information or pictures yet. We told you we were sorry for the inconvenence and it would have the updated price today.

      On February 14th I went to Windy City motors and I test drove a 2018 **** escape. I was told that the car need 1 recalled part from **** and it would be ready in 1 -2 weeks. It was not ready. Upon check in on the vehicle I was told that it needed 2 more parts. On March 4th I asked for my deposit back and I was quote told Good morning just saw this we were closed yesterday but they open today at 12pm. Ill be in and let my manager know. I came in at 12 on March 5th and was refused my $1500 deposit. I was told that they had been working on it since I came and they did not sell it to anyone else. But these services would have needed to be done if they sold it to me or any other person. I told them that I would be contact the BBB and the attorney general to get my deposit back. I was told quote well do what you gotta do I also called back later to reinstate what I said and I was told Well I dont know why you dont want it. This will build your credit and help you out. And to do Want I need to do about contract BBB and ATG.

      ************** came to our store and asked to buy a car, we showed her many cars but she decided that the **** Escape we had just recived and was going thru our inspection at the dealership was the one she wanted to buy. It was explained to her that we had to do the inspection and order some parts for the car, she said she would wait for that car and please get it ready for her. We told her it would be 2 weeks before the parts would come in from **** and in response she said I will wait until it's ready for pickup.

      We took a non refundable deposite as it was explaind and also written on the recept because the car would be taken off market and held exclusivly for her. She has called our store and we again told her the car is avalable and ready for her to purchase 

      We can still fufill our part of the sale or ************** can use her money for any other car that she is able to buy at our dealership.

      I started financing this car 02/17/2023 the first day I got it and it shut off on me and they took it back for three days and fixed it and it was the water pump the second time my starter went out and I had to fix it and miss work for three days because the shop by my house was busy . The third time my spark plugs went out while I was driving almost causing me to crash until another car I got that fixed the fourth time my alternator went out and went that happen it caused me to lose my jobs because I have a client so I have to travel to there houses and we got that fixed three days later the car went out and again and we put it in the shop and now they are telling us the engine went out and we only had this car for four months

      Dear ******************** did buy her car on February 18th 2023 the day after she purchased her car it was car she had a problem starting it, our dealer has her car towed into our repair shop and found the problem was a fuse not a water pump as Ms. ******* says, we repaired it and she received the car back. Approximately 30 days later she had a shifting problem with her transmission linkage we adjusted it it at no cost and she received her car again. after these two repairs that had nothing to do with her engine we have not worked on Ms ********* car all of her repair she choose to go to another shop to have them work on her car so we have no way of knowing what has been done to her engine. As you are aware of the warranty is for 500 miles or 14 days, this is far exceeded at this point, If she would like a estimate for repairs she would have to have the car towed in so we could see what has happened and what it would cost her to repair.

      I purchased a vehicle in February of 2018, a 2007 **** expedition, they took a set of keys which included ignition door and key fob and said it would be returned when I paid it off. Vehicles paid off went to pick up my title today no door key just ignition and key fob I called the company they told me oh well take care of it yourself she said! And there's no way on this Earth that I should be responsible to have to pay a locksmith to make a key for my vehicle when I handed it to them and they said they needed the door key in case I change the alarm and they need to repossess it well they didn't need to repossess it I want my door key and I am not I repeat not paying a locksmith that is their responsibility

      we returned the exact keys that we removed the day he purchased his car 4 years ago, The only key we would ever need to retake the car for non payment would be the ignition key and the key fob to open the car. This is all we ever had and this is all that can be returned since we do not have what he is saying we do and never did.

      I am rejecting this response because: there was one door key with a set of ignition keys with two key fobs they took an ignition key the only door key and a key fob and stated to me that they needed the door key in case I changed or installed an alarm that they couldn't get into the vehicle so they needed the door key to get into the vehicle if it was going to be repossessed they need to pay for a locksmith now so I have a door key I am not going to pay extra money for a door key when I had one when I purchased the vehicle that they took from me four years ago! Read their reviews no one is happy with their service and I repeat no one. Thank you for your timely response and I hope that this situation gets rectified soon

      We have NO reason to keep any keys, if we had taken the key we would still have it on the same key ring. I truly believe that you are mistaken that the other key was with the set you received for us. Why would we ever want to keep it? it has always been in the same deal folder and we gave you all the keys that we ever had. I have check just to be sure and there is no more keys in our possession.

      I am rejecting this response because: you know what you know what I don't care anymore I'm sick and tired of dealing with this company they are terrible they took an ignition key a door key and a key fob when I purchased the vehicle there was only one door key and they took it because they said they needed it in case they had the repo my vehicle and I changed the alarm system on there and they couldn't get in with the key fob I'm just tired sick and tired of it and they're just going to drag this out until I give up I'm not going to give up they need to replace the door key that is the only way I will be satisfied as I stated previously I will not be paying for it myself it is their responsibility. I don't lie I don't tell stories I only tell the truth that I know. I thank you so much for your help I don't think they're going to give there's nothing but terrible reviews on their website and the only reason I bought a car there is because I had bad credit at the time they need to rectify this.       I bought a 2007 GMC Acadia on August 13 2021 it was a Sat. As soon i came out the dealer one if the front head lights didn't work so i went back to them before leaving the dealer and told them about the problem but they had closed already so the lady told me to drive around and see if any of the associates could change the light bulb but no one was able to help me withe my problem and asked me to come back on Monday because they where closed on Sunday. So it was late i didn't want to get a ticket for a broken head light so i left the truck near the dealer and because i wasn't able to drive two cars at the same time because that day my dad borrowed me his truck to be able to move and go to work while i got my own car. On Sunday morning i called my dad to see if he could help me pick the car fron where i had lefted so we did go get it and my dad drove it to see if it didn't had any problems because he is a mechanic. As soon as we got to hes house he told me the check engine light turned on, the breaks need to be changed, the tires are not good anymore they need to change them, the back wiper is missing and the pipes for the water to clean the front windshield don't work and to top it off the air bag light is on. Well i said on Monday i have to go back and get the front head light fixe might as well just let them know and get everything fixed. I went Monday lost a whole day there just fro them tu turned off the check engine light off fixed the breaks and put used tires. The front light they said it was the whole part the had to order that in a week they'll get the parts, passed 3 months and because i kept insisting they got the parts but the check engine light turned back on that same day the supposedly fixed it they send me to a muffler shop to fix the problem of the check engine made me pay $400 for something they had to fix and till this day i have payed almos $5000 just to try to fix that problem and been dealing with the dealer. I cant afford to pay more money.

      I am rejecting this response because:
      In does 15 days if waranty that i supposedly had the made me leave the truck more that 3 times to supposedly fix it they kept the car 2 times for a while week to fix it wich they never fixed anything they just turned the check engine light off and the light would turned back on 15 min coming out from the dealer. So i didn't want to go back to a place where they were supposed to fix the problem and never did. I bought a used car i know that but i didn't bought a car to put money from my pocket to have to repair all the things they had to reapair and jet have to pay another $5,000 just to fix it so in can pass the emissions test. I can't afford to pay all that money just because the dealer never fixed anything. So i don't want the car anymore i cannot pay for something that doesn't work. So if they can take the car back and i don't have to keep paying for a car that doesn't work without hurting my credit i really don't care anymore about the money i have payed already. But i don't want it.

      I am rejecting this response because: I talked to the finance company and they said they didn't had anything to do with the problem of the car that the dealer is just washing their hands and leaving the problem to the finance company when clearly they knew of the problems the car had and jet in does 15 days of "Wranty" that i kept  taking the car to get it "Fixed" and never fixed anything they nade me payed $400 of my pocket to get fixed a code that the truck had wich i don't think they fixed they just kept the truck for weeks and making me come back and forth supposedly to fix it and i didn't get anything fixed. So i went back to trade it in and came with all this excuses that they couldn't do a trade in because of my credit. What a coincidence i went to another dealer and didn't had any problems to buy another car couldn't trade the truck because of all the problems it has so now i have the truck parked because it doesn't work since day one and i can't afford anymore to pay to fix all the problems it has so i refuse to keep paying for a car that doesn't work since they sold it to me. Nowi see why all the bad reviews against that dealer if i had read them before buying a a car there i wouldn't ever step a foot in that dealership.

      I brought my 2011 infiniti m37x in to windy city motors on August 19th to be fixed because it was squeaking. I asked them to fix the squeaking noise. The service department desk worker, whose name is ********* told me that the squeaking was due to the struts needing to be replaced. They then replaced the part and tell me I can pick the car up after like a week of having my car. I pick my car up and a few minutes after leaving I notice that my car is still making the squeaking noise. So I called them, and ********* told me to bring it back in.He tells me that the car is still making the noise because the new part that they just put on was faulty and that they need to order a new one and redo it. I say ok and brought my car back a few days later. He keeps my car for another week and then tells me I can pick it up. I go to pick my car up, and notice again that car is still making the squeaky noise. So he tells me to bring it back in. I brought it back in a few days later, and keeps my car again for almost a week. I call in because I haven't heard anything and ********* tells me that the car is actually making the squeaky noise due to the control arm/ball joint needing to be replaced. And that it's going to cost more money to fix this. I come into the office to speak to the manager ****,because I had spent about $870 with them and my car was still not fixed. Before I could speak to ****, ********* rudely tells me I'm wasting my time and that I'm not going to get a refund. I did not wish to have a bad relationship with the business because I have been taking my cars to be fixed here since 2014. Instead of asking for a complete refund, I just wanted a partial refund for atleast the labor performed, which would have been like $285. **** tells me that he cannot help me and that the best he can do is refund me $81. So now I'm out of all this money and my car is still not fixed. I would like a refund for the rest of the labor.

      ******************** brought her car into our service department for a noise in her front drivers side. We assessed it as the front strut, we replaced the strut and noticed it was defective. We ordered a 2nd strut from Infinity that took 5 working days to receive and the part was installed. We explained to ******************** that the strut had cased the lower control arm to also fail and to completely eliminate her noise on that side she would also have to replace that as well. I told her I would try to help her out with pricing at that time. I also did give ******************** a partial refund as a good will gesture and explained to her the part was over ****** so there is not much I could do to help in this case. I also explained to her that I had always tried to be fair with her on work and pricing. I am sorry that she does not find this acceptable. I hope in the future that we can serve her better and wish her luck if she decides to not return.

      I am rejecting this response because: I asked them to fix what was causing the noise, they did not fix this. They fixed the Strut, that was not causing the problem. I've taken my car to other mechanics and they informed me the Strut was not the problem, instead it was the control arm/ball joint. Windy city motors told me the Strut was the problem and after they fixed it the car would no longer make the noise, yet after fixing it now their telling its the control arm/ball joint. They claims all of these parts are connected and need to be fixed at the same time, but did not inform me of this until after they only fixed the Strut. 

      I've taken my car to other mechanics and they informed me that this is untrue. They do not all need to be fixed together, and that ***** did not need to be fixed, instead my control arm/ball joints needed to be fixed. Windy city motors is trying to hide their mistake and trying to foot me the bill for something that did not need to be repaired yet. 

      In order to keep a good relationship i asked for only a partial refund of the labor to correct their mistake. They claimed that they couldn't find a Strut part and that it needed to come directly from inifiniti and that part cost 500, after labor the bill was about $870. Instead of asking for the entire amount back, I only asked for the labor. Michael refused and said the best he could do is $81. It is not fair that I have to pay for something that did not need to be repaired and it did not fix the problem of what I brought the car in for. 

       

      i am asking for the rest of the labor fee back, and i will let bygones be bygones. If I do not receive the rest of the labor fees back, which is about $203, i will be forced to take this to court for the entire amount. I have already spoken to my lawyer, and we are prepared to take this to court. I would not like to do this because I have worked with Windy city motors for years and never had a problem until now.

      I am sorry ******************** has chosen tp listen to other mechanics who did not see the condition of her car prier to the strut repair.  If she had gone and showed the car before the strut repair was done they other mechanics who she chose NOT to use these other people that she now trust to tell her what we did wrong but not at the time of repair? This all seems suspect to me. I did give ******************** a parcel refund to show we are trying to help out. I also understand Ms. ******** is not familiar with the parts shortage with cars right now and we had to get her part from the manufacturer because there was no other way to find it, and as she states we have d great deal of business and do not want to loose her business I also told ******************** that I could not help her further on this repair but if she wants to do the control arm that has failed because of the already failed strut that had to be replaced I would be more then glad to help her with that repair. Also during the repair we noticed that the new strut that had been sent was also not good and we had to replace that one with another new one from Infinity, this was also no fault of hers but it was however a cost for us to do the job more then once. We always try to be fair with our customer and if the repair had been done at the dealership ( Ifinity) it would have a mush greater cost then the bill she received from us.

      I am rejecting this response because: It's incredible how much your business refuses to acknowledge your wrongdoing. I also would love to know how it is suspicious that I got a second opinion from a different mechanic? Second how is it suspicious that I chose to go to you guys when I have been having my car serviced there since 2014.  

      Back when your front desk worker, *********, informed me that you guys couldn't find the part, I found that hard to believe because I easily went online and found the part. But I chose to go along with you guys saying you couldn't find the part because I just needed my car to hurry up and be fixed. And I find it very suspicious that your mechanic couldn't tell that a part was faulty/defective. 

      oonce again i brought my car in to be fixed because it was making a squeaky noise. My car is still making the squeaky noise because the strut was not the problem, and you and your mechanics know this. You're just trying to cover your tail and claim thats the problem, when you in fact know it was not. And a partial refund of $81 when i was charged $870 is not sufficient,  since my car was not fixed. 

      Your mechanics knew that the strut was not the problem from the beginning when they fixed it and it was still making noise. Right then they should have found the actual problem and fixed it. Instead they chose to continue with the lie that the strut was the problem, and replaced it for a second time. They could have fixed their mistake and this could have all been avoided. 

      the only resolutions i'm willing to accept is the refund of the rest of the labor fee which is about $204. Or the complete waiving of the labor fee if I choose to have my control arm fixed there. If you refuse to give either one of these, then I will continue with taking you to court. I'm not happy that it has to be this way, but I refuse to be taken advantage of, and then you continue to lie and try to put the blame on me. I refuse.

      I have bought other cars from them lease I mean..I have only had this 2018 **** Escape for less then 2 months and the motor went out it has been back to the dealership every single week sometimes twice a week the owner Michael has told me there is nothing he can do for me but I am still paying for this truck he told me the lady that put me in it f$)&ed me over and why should he loose out on money when it was her his worker thats no longer heres doing I am on the brinks of loosing my job I am being evicted bc I cant work bc this truck will not stay on please help then they took off the drive shaft from my awd truck

      ************ did have a engine issue due to overheating and had the car repaired buy our service department under her warranty. Since that time she has had other minor service done to her car at no cost because or our good will and has not had to pay any labor cost. When she purchased her car she choose to buy that car test drove it and signed all her documents in order to buy the car, It is her lack of equity in the car that does not allow her to trade it so soon at this time not that we are not willing to try. When she returned several months later with her car it appears that the drive shaft for the rear differential is missing? we did not remove it and I know she has taken the car to mutable other shops to have them work on the car and  she parks it on the street so it could have been removed by someone attempting to take parts off the car. We do not know or have any information on her shaft, I have told her we could buy one and charge her for the part and install it at no cost.

      The engine is a reman and this is a motor change. In other words the entire short block engine has been changed.

      I purchased a ******** S550 on 8-28-21 on a Saturday as soon as I got on the highway leaving the dealership I noticed numerous problems in the way it drove and the ******* dollar command unit that controls everything in the car went out on the ride home the car couldn't of been inspected even the 1st fill up the gas wouldn't even go in the car due to needing a charcoal canister I assume that's why the salesman put gas during a short trafficky test drive. So I called on the following Monday and told them I'm towing it back asap to either be fixed or they can give me my perfectly good running car back and he said in 3 weeks so they can run the return policy out, so I got it towed up anyway 5 days later and ******** the manager said if the finance company called to say everything was ok and they will fix whatever the issues was, so in about 3 weeks later they called and said the car was done, so I took the train to get it and they fixed nothing and told me I have to have the car for 30 days so my extended warranty can kick in to get it to ******** of *********** so I called on day 30 and she said you have to drive it at least ****************************************************************************************************************************************** know my hard work was paying off. I drove it **** miles and called her back and she was so happy they scam worked she even made my appointment ****************** didn't fix anything either they were just taking me and the warranty company money. I been paying 900 plus 250 for insurance a month for a car that's sitting broke down and I told the finance company from day 1 and they said to take it up with the dealership it seems like everyone is working against me to get paid and I'm the one losing I have all my paperwork and proof of the tow and diagnostics saying it had numerous problems since the start and after I read windy City motors reviews and ****************** reviews I wouldn't of never delt with them

      I purchased a 2013 Buick Verano from Windy City Motors ******************************************************** of late June 2021. I put down $4,500 with agreement that Id pay $422 monthly and $153 for car insurance. I stressed my concerns with not wanting a unreliable car because I was due to give birth October of 2021 and I needed to commute to work, and transport my 4 year old back and forth to school. They assured that I would have the best deal, and that everything was up to part on this vehicle. Having to constantly inconvenience myself for a month straight after the purchase. With them having to repeatedly repair the headlight on the passenger side that still to this day, DOES NOT WORK. The transmission went out February 2, 2022. I called for 2 weeks explaining the cost to repair this matter will cost a total of $2,400. They then said the only solution to my problem will be to do a trade in and PUT MYSELF IN MORE DEBT because payments doesnt roll over. This matter has cost me to lose my only source of income and still be worried and concerned about making payments on a car that does not work. I am 6 months postpartum and a single mother of two. Ive worked extremely hard to create a better situation for my kids and the complication with this car has set me back completely. I am set to get evicted the end of this month and having this removed off my credit will help tremendously.

      ********** purchased her Buick 11 months ago and knew that when she signed all the papers that the warranty period was only 15 days and 500 miles as prescribed by the state of ********. When ********** had her transmission issues our shop quoted her a price to repair her car or gave her the choice to trade the car in. After that time she stopped making payments and had the car repossessed.
