  Our taxes were not prepared using tax laws and tax principles. As an ICPA member, Ms. ******************** is bound by the ***** Code of Professional Conduct. Rule 201 requires that members provide professional services with competency. My husband and I trusted that Ms. ******************** was an expert in this field. Ms. ******************** presented herself as a tax expert, e.g., presenter at ************************* Seminar, ******************************************** etc. ************** Ms. ******************** has compromised GAC's delivery of personal tax preparation services with deception. Ms. ******************** has failed to provide the principles of professional conduct: Responsibilities, the public interest, integrity, and due date. GAC has flagged our account with the **** making us a target and making us repay funds and pay interest on the money. In Early 2023, we paid someone to take a second look, and I began investigating. I discovered GAC had three different versions of our 2020 tax paperwork. Version 1: My husband and I signed and received a copy of tax paperwork to receive a check for $2,184; that paperwork contained the $20,427 loss. Version 2: The actual copy was sent to **** which refunded $5,598.87; that paperwork also included the $20,247 loss. Version 3: GAC computer database (backup file), the copy of our returns does not have the loss and has us receiving $271. It appears that GAC has poor internal controls and lacks standard operating procedures, which led to inconsistencies, different versions of tax paperwork, and not being aware of the submission to the ***.This case was not submitted sooner because we wanted to settle with the *** before moving forward. Ms. ******************** reached out to us on July 12, 2023, still not accepting responsibility and did not pay us the funds we are owed. Please see more details on document uploaded.
