      Multiple times I have ordered something that says it will ship within a week. They take your money and never tell you its back ordered. False advertising.

      I was looking for a part, I called and asked if it was IN STOCK. The guy says yes we have 10. I needed 5-6. I asked how much shipping was and where they were located, I am from **. He said he couldn't tell me the shipping and that I could order online. The ad said FREE SHIPPING OVER $150. So I ordered 6 pieces so it was over $150. Well no free shipping coupons didn't work and I needed the parts. I ordered paid almost $100 for over night shipping. The next day at 2pm I get an email stating they don't have the parts and it will be over 2 weeks before we will get them. The guy on the phone was kinda rude. This was the worse experience I have ever experienced with a supply company.

      I purchased 2 different items from these folks in October. I specifically choose items from their site that they listed as in stock. When I only received half my order, I called them and was very rudely told the other half was backordered, despite their false advertising to the contrary, complicating my project. I asked the representative to cancel the part of the order Gordon Electric had misrepresented as being in stock. The representative agreed.More than 5 months later, I receive the item that was backordered and that I had asked them to cancel. I called their customer service and was told I need to fill out a form and that the item would be subject to a restocking fee.This is completely unacceptable.These folks are fraudulent scammers, and an absolute garbage company to deal with. Stay away.

      I order electrical parts for major companies in my area. I found online that they had the parts that I needed in stock. To verify what I was seeing online, I called in and spoke with a representative, who assured me that they had the parts I needed in stock and that they would ship in **** business days from my order date. 2 weeks later, I had not received the parts I had ordered. So, I called again. I was again told by one of their representatives that these parts were in stock and that they were coming soon. After 3 and a half weeks from my purchase, I called in a 3rd time. This time I was told that my order was backordered and they did not know when my parts would come in. I cancelled my order immediately. I will not be using this company again. I was completely lied to twice by their representatives. On top of that, they never notified me that my parts were backordered. I need to be able to trust what company reps are telling me. These people will lie just to get a sale, knowing full well that what they are saying is not true.

      I've been in the electrical industry for over 50 years, and they are worst distributor I've dealt with. Order parts ($523) and they shipped them from manufacturer (Caddy) to themselves instead of to me. Email follow up was useless. I sent 4 emails to see what was going on. Called them, got voice mail, and never got a call back. I had rented a scissor lift to install these parts, and had to send back after incurring $500 in costs. From the other reviews i don't know why anyone would do business with them.

      I ordered three emerald ***** glass replacement shades from Gordon Electric in mid May of 2023. At the time, I placed the ordered there was no statement on their website stating the item was not in stock. Two months later on July 10, 2023, I received the order. The glass shades were not emerald *****. In fact they were not ***** at all. I contacted Gordons via email and explained this. Their reply was that the pictures on their website are stock photos directly from Westing house and do not always appear the same in person. Really!!! If this is really the case then it is subterfuge. I have been shopping on line for years with various vendors and their online photos of the item I ordered have always been 100% accurate. I asked for a return label but was informed that the glass replacement shades I order did not qualify for label but they would make an exception. However, I would be responsible for the label. I must pay for the insurance and take the package to either *** or Fed Ex. This is ridiculous they did not send me the item I ordered. The shipment was delayed two months. The only way a customers can see items by looking at the website and they need to be accurate. I have never encountered such poor customer service, and a lack of responsibility demonstrated by this company.

      Found an item on their site I needed. I ordered it. Got a confirmation. Then several days later they cancelled my order--no explanation. I got in touch. They told me that part was "obsolete" and that I needed to order another part, for which they did not have a picture. I had no choice but to order it, although they told me I probably couldn't return it.1. Why did it take days for them to realize it was obsolete?2. Why was an obsolete part listed on their website?3. Why didn't they tell me it was obsolete instead of just cancelling my order without explanation?4. Why are they threatening not to take a return? I have to pay for their incompetence when they can't even show a picture of the new part? (We're talking about a small order here--less than $100. It's not like I'm planning to return thousands of dollars of products they had to special order.)I'm not too impressed with them!

      Hi *******, we are sorry for the inconvenience and confusion. Obsolete items on our website are listed as obsolete, but for your order it looks like we were not aware that the item you ordered was obsolete and it was canceled by the manufacturer not us. When that happens, they should call or email us to notify that the order was canceled, but there has been a large delay with this where the customer receives the cancellation and we are unaware. We have been working with our manufacturers to fix this. Regardless, we are so sorry for all of this. I will look into the return issue on why you were told that and if you do need to return, please give us a call. Lastly, we are constantly updating the website to add product photos, change product information, and add substitute info to each listing. We do appreciate you letting us know about your experience so we can improve the website usability.

      I wish I would have looked at the reviews prior to placing my order. Seems to be increasing shipping charges after purchase, items out of stock but say "in stock" on website, and being unresponsive is a common practice for them. TERRIBLE customer service. ********************* was ******* helping me. 1st after placing my order, I got a call 2 days later the shipping would cost an additional $385 on top of the $85 I had already paid. Time sensitive matter so I agreed and told him to proceed. I was told part would be mailed out in approx 4-5 days. After a week, I had not heard anything so reached out via email requesting a tracking number... No response... Reached out again few days later via email.. No response. Now 2 weeks later I call the main number and was told by another customer rep the part is on back order and not available for another 3 months.... Quick to take thousands of my money, knew it was time sensitive yet never bothered to let me know any of this. *** should be fired!

As we touched on in your Yelp review, the additional shipping cost was actually less than $385 according to the correspondence between you and our sales rep. *** of the communication was through email, so we would be happy to provide a copy of it if needed to show that you were not charged that much for shipping and no promises for shipping time were made. Please send us a message if you would like a copy. But again, we are truly sorry for the delay in getting back to you after the shipping was updated. You should have been contacted right away in response to your email about the tracking number. We thank you for letting us know this so we can make sure messages are not being missed.

      I ordered some wire online with shipping charge of $95 at checkout.I then received notice from them that shipping would be $775!!Judging by other reviews, this seems to be a persistant tactic by Gordon Electric.Solution is for them to fix their online ordering to represent true total charge or do not show fraudulently low prices.I cancelled and reordered from a competitor for substantially less money.Slightly more per foot but free shipping and good reviews.I guess I should have done better homework.

As you may know, shipping wire is a tricky game where we have to put the cut wire on a spool and then send it via freight. This can drastically change the shipping price, especially since we are a family-owned company with only 3 locations in ********, and your location is on the west coast. Since freight shipping is often changing, we do not have a way to display this accurately on our website currently, but I have submitted your complaint to our GM and Web team so we can review how we can better note when a product will be subject to freight costs.
