    Roughly 2 months ago I went to Anytime Fitness in ********** with my friend. I scanned in my key tag and I dont know if hers did not work or what happened. But the next day I received a call from the owner. His name is **** and he was extremely rude on the phone and very aggressive. The worst **************** Ive ever received my entire life. He was threatening to charge me with a $250 bill for bringing in a nonmember. I tried to explain to him over the phone that the person who came in was a member and gave him her name and said to look up her account. She and I are both still active members at Anytime Fitness so there should be no reason Im getting charged a $250 bill for nothing. This feels like extortion and hes using the power of his business to bully. Its truly disgusting. I called my gym owner on January 22 and he tried to talk to **** the gym owner about why I was getting charge this. He was very rude to my owner of my Anytime Fitness and he was trying to justify this $250 charge. I received the letter on Friday, January 19th. None of my calls are answered and I am being ignored. This is a fraudulent charge all he hast to do is look up her account and see that it was active at the day and time of us being there. This gym and owner have had multiple situations very similar to mine. They are all over ****** and yelp.

    Good evening ****, letting in nonmembers is extremely dangerous and is outlined in your agreement. We also have a sign on our door that goes into detail about bringing in nonmembers. When I called you to get a better understanding of the situation I was met with profanity and threats. You even came back to the club and demanded entry screaming threats. After talking with other owners we all agree that you could have handled this situation in a different way.

    I am rejecting this response because: My point is I did not bring a non-member into your gym. Look up the name *************************. She is a member. Regardless to what was said the outcome is I didnt break any rules. I would appreciate if you can call and get that $250 out of my name. I told you her name on the phone and you did not look up her account. If you did then it would have been just a miscommunication. You decided to escalate the situation. The owners of my gym called and contacted you and all you did was justified to them on why you think I should still be charged even though I didnt break any rules. This would be much easier if you can just verify the account and we can all move forward.

    We are a key card access fitness model. If you truly brought in a member then where was there key? ******* at staff over the phone and in person makes you look incredibly guilty. The sign above the key reader and your agreement speaks for themselves.

So I dont understand the passive aggressiveness. This could all be a miss understanding but you continue to escalate. You were very rude over the phone as well. So again I would appreciate if you would simply just look the ACTIVE membership and this can just be behind us.

    All members are expected to use their key fob. Your agreement and the sign on the door explains how to get into an Anytime Fitness. Again, if your friend is a member they should have used there key to get in. All members are expected to follow the policies in place to keep everyone safe.

    I am rejecting this response because: So why dont you go after the people who went in without scanning? I didnt have anything to do with it. Again, why cant you just simply look up the membership and then call her and see why her tag didnt work? You escalated this to a point that It didnt need to get to, thats bad business. Why dont you call me and we can have a conversation over the phone and maybe come up with a resolution? I seem to be the only one try to take care of this.

Did you forget that part of the conversation? You wouldnt even listen to anything I said. You hung up the phone. Also I didnt threaten anyone. You know that illegal to falsely accuse somebody of a crime

    I spoke with the owner **** on Dec 11th. I joined anytime fitness at a different location because I was temporarily homeless and needed a place to shower. When I moved into my new apartment I asked my pregnant wife if she wanted to go check out the gym closer to us now. We went into the gym at 9pm with my automatic key fob, walked around the small gym (it is in a strip mall), and left. We where in the gym for less than 2 minutes and I believe there was only one other customer on a bike. We never touched any equipment or even left the designated walking path. When **** calls me he quickly becomes angry with me. Claiming that I disrupted other customers and demanding a 250 dollar fee from me. I told him that wasnt possible due to me being a disabled vet in a fixed income. He then asled me "then how are we going to handle this?" When I asked him to send me a bill he became irate and told me he needed to collect now or else I would be locked out of all anytime fitness gyms as well as sent to collections. He then hung up on me.Not 2 hours later I received a phone call from a man claiming to work for an attorney threatening to take me to court over the matter. When I reached out to corporate the originally informed me they would resolve the matter. Apparently they deal with **************. After failed attempts to contact **** they then informed me that the wouldn't be able to help and to contact my home gym owner.After contacting my home gym owner he told me that he wouldn't be to help and encouraged me to not give into ***** demands.

    My contract with the gym states it ends on 10/04/2023. My final payment was made and posted 6 days late. The gym manager ******************* has reached out to me and stated that this late payment voided my previously requested 30 day notice. Nothing in the contract mentions voiding cancellation requests. His response is simply that, it is clearly stated he has told me that I am still past due, he has called the billing department on my behalf multiple times. The final payment shows as posted and completed for the exact amount in my account linked for payment. I have asked ******************* several times between 09/27/2023-09/28/2023 to confirm if they collect social security information when creating the account. He refuses to even acknowledge the question.

    Attached is an email sent to Gunner today from the billing company stating he is still past due. I have send ****** over 21 messages, emailed his agreement to him three times and called the billing company for him four times to help. ****** claims he is current but can not provide any evidence he is. In fact, the email from the billing company attached is evidence he is not current. The salutation is simple not sure what is going on?

    I had a membership with Anytime Fitness located at **************************************************************** Telephone ************.On February 10 2023 the owner and I had a conversation about a complaint message I left for him. We spoke in person two weeks later and he kicked my out of his gym and said my membership has been cancelled. Since then I am still receiving charges on my credit card on a gym I have not been in for over a month.

    1-3/22 called @1117am to cancel membership **** answers and starts to go on about how this is the makings of an unhealthy lifestyle and about depression and suicide in fat people and tries to offset with free sessions. I state Im not interested and would like to cancel. He says why!? I said because 1) the amenities are not worth it 2) offer no guest passes- cuts me off says lets be real im just trying to get free services I say no- cut conversation I want to come in to cancel. He said today before 4pm h*** be in- I arrive at 3pm after work. Hes not there EJ said **** is the only one auth. To terminate. I leave I call **** in the parking lot #**** he said he heard me yelling in the background that Im crazy and deranged that he will have me arrested that EJ confirmed- I run inside **** on speaker saying Ill be arrested I ask EJ out loud was I screaming? ************ says no I was not **** OH MY GOD and hangs up. Texts me Ill be trespassed and claiming contact attempts since 05/22- a lie. I took a video of the whole thing. I have audio proof. I want a refund for my contract beyond its original term of 6 months he said lets be real ok I agreed to a contract of 6months- not 12months+

    Please see full text conversation below showing we are being honest about this situation. ********* called me a lier in her letter about not contacting her on 5/24 etc, facts below show otherwise. ********* was extremely angry with me when I could not offer free memberships to her friends and family. Elizabeth went into the club on 1/3 making everyone fell extremely uncomfortable, she was asked to leave several times and would not. As seen below, the membership was in fact cancelled on 1/3 at 3:36pm. I have also uploaded conversation.

    I am rejecting this response because:free memberships dont exist. Gyms charge a base rate for no guest passes and a premium for accesible guest passes. He raged on the phone AND I have witnesses to confirm this even his own staff and gym goers who overheard this conversation on speaker. He called me crazy. I was NOT asked to leave the property. His staff member confirmed to him on the phone I was not in fact yelling or causing a scene. The fact that you chose to be so confrontational over me wanting to cancel my membership and to be clear- I never asked for a guest pass. I was aware this gym does not offer guest passes. You asked me why I said why I never asked. I sat quietly after you abruptly hanged up when your own staff said to YOU that I was not yelling. I sat down and asked your staff why you lied.
