My boyfriend came in with broken ribs a broken collar bone, and a broken jaw after an accident. Doctor said he broke his jaw in 3 places I had ace bandage wrapped around his head to his jaw because it was hanging from being broken he obviously needed his jaw wired shut to fix it hence why we are expecting is going to happen at the hospital…. Doctor says yes he absolutely needs his jaw wirred shut non negotiable or he will have problems for life if not fixed an heals wrong. After waiting 4 hours to he prepped for surgery a nurse sitting on a chair wheels in and says “oh we didn’t know you were on state insurance” which we gave them the Medicaid card when we first arrived.. “we don’t take state insurance” LITERALLY GOT HIM DRESSED AND WHEELED HIM IN THE WHEELCHAIR STRAIGHT TO MY CAR!!! Wtf this is a hospital didn’t wire his jaw shut let him go home with his jaw hanging down off his head because we had state insurance it has now been almost a year since the accident and he is in constant pain everyday from his jaw healing wrong. His headaches are unimaginable he hasn’t been able to work I can’t believe a hospital refused medical treatment because they wouldn’t be paid enough. It’s all about money this hospital ruined his life. We both left the hospital sobbing because an ace bandage was holding his jaw together. This nurse looks at us and says I wish we could help you… YOUR A HOSPITAL. So the next day nurse calls us and says she was thinking about us all night. Lmao that’s rich my husband laid awake screaming in pain but thanks for the prayer). She says a specialist is gonna call us and take him he can have surgery at noon at a place in Addison. So the oral surgeon calls and says oh I don’t even take insurance it’s all out of pocket… 9k is the lowest I’ll go but it has to be all cash. We called st Joseph’s hospital an they couldn’t believe they didn’t wire his jaw shut and left him with a bandage wrapped around his jaw and head. Edward’s ruined his life.
