I purchased an EGO mower, blower, and weedwacker in 2018 at *********** This is the second battery that has failed. The battery on my EGO weedwacker has failed. Since the battery is supposedly out of warranty (not aware of the warranty) EGO will not provide a replacement battery. In addition, they claim that I did not register the product even though I clearly remember registering the product in 2018 when I purchased it from ***********Initial Complaint

I purchased from ****** located in *********, OR An Ego 56v brush-less grass trimmer on May 12, 2021 for $ 179 , After the sample line which came with trimmer was used-up this is when I started to realize there was a problem in the design of the lower dispensing unit. I searched the internet for answers, the manual was of little or no help in dis-assembly of the lower head unit. It is not easy to do. It requires a flat head s**** driver to pry off the plastic unit. One wonders how the plastic will hold-up to the frequent prying to reload the line. Once re-lining the line the bumper, that allows a dispensing of additional line, does not work meaning additional prying and restringing. I did telephone Ego customer service. they offered replacing the head. At that time I was not able to locate a receipt ( since then ****** corporate customer service was able to locate) which limited options. Since the dispensing unit in my opinion along with many others has a serious design defect offering a new head to me means another flawed unit. There should be a recall on this particular trimmerInitial Complaint

I have a 5 yr warranty from EGO on my EGO Edger/trimmer, battery and charger; warranty began in April 2020. My battery is not working, I called EGO and was told a replacement would be sent but have not heard from them re shipping. When I called to ask where the battery is I was told "they didn't know, it takes a long time to get things sent" and silly remarks like that. The date of my first call is May 9th Case # ********. My grass is growing, it's getting hotter by the day and I want my battery--I have a warranty. I'm sure if I had to pay for something they would be right on the case but since it's their responsibility they seem not to care.Initial Complaint

I purchased an EGO Z6 zero turn mower in May of 2021, after finally getting a charger that works with my mower, I used it and then it stopped working. I called customer service they tried to get it to reset, ended up taking it to a warranty service center. The service center has done everything possible to repair the unit, to no avail. I have tried to see about a warranty replacement or a warranty but back option, which EGO has refused both. This mower only has 1 hour on it!! I didnt spend over $5,000 on a mower to have a yard ornament!! This mower needs to be replaced, or buy it back!!Initial Complaint

I purchased an ego 2-stage snow blower from Lowes back in November of 2021. For the majority of the winter the blower work fine, but in February the auger stopped working out of nowhere and I began getting a flashing yellow light.I spent ~$1400 on this unit, and it no longer blows snow.I registered my product with Ego, contacted customer support, ran through the entire troubleshooting process with them over the phone... At which point they determined that the product is not functioning and they would help me connected with a local support/tech company to have it fixed.About 3-4 weeks ago I went through this process, and sent them multiple emails with my receipt as they requested.I have been ignored fully since then, even after reaching out multiple times. The support at Ego is very poor, and I'm just trying to figure out how I can get my snow blower functioning again for next season.. as of right I have a ~$1400 paper weight.Business response

Ego Power refused to honor Three-Year battery warranty as documented on their public facing website (https://egopowerplus.com/warranty-policy). Policy states all batteries would have a three year warranty. My battery was manufactured August 2019, and customer service decided to get creative and tell me it was not under warranty because the original piece of equipment was purchased over three years ago. Although that is true, this is not a warranty request associated with that piece of equipment but rather a battery that was manufactured in August 2019 (<3 years ago).Business response

******************* account and registration was reviewed. Unfortunately is battery is out of warranty. Per our published warranty policy which can be viewed at https://egopowerplus.com/warranty-policy
The warranty states- EGO products are warranted against defects in material or workmanship from the date of original retail purchase for the applicable warranty period.
This indicates that the warranty or the item starts at the date of purchase not the manufactured date.

I bought am EGO model Model #LM2156SP mower at ****** on 9/3/2021. It soon started having a problem where the right rear wheel would lock up after turning, when I tried to go forward. I would have to back up to get it to release so I could go forward again. It got worse during the mowing season. I have tried several times to get EGO to repair or replace it, and they ask for more information, and then ignore it. I called again today after not hearing back from my last email. Today they asked for my problem again, then put me on hold to look up a service center. She came back and said there were no service centers in my area, so I could buy a replacement wheel and pay for it if I wanted to do that. I am outraged! I don't even know what the problem is. It may be in the drive gears. That is not a warranty! If they can't provide a place to get it repaired, then they should replace it. They refuse to do that. They have made several excuses, like I may be putting too much pressure on it, it's normal, etc. I'm not putting too much pressure on it. I'm 69 years old, and I've been using push mowers my whole life. Basically they sell a $700 mower, with a supposed warranty, and then tell me there are no service centers nearby, so I have to buy my own parts. That is completely unacceptable! They should just post a notice in the stores that there is no warranty, so we would know not to buy them!! They didn't even tell me where a center is, and offer to let me take it to any center!! I found some others on the internet having similar problems. I will attach the receipt, the e-mails, and a printout of an article about some others having the same problem, and what one owner found to be wrong.Initial Complaint

I wanted to upgrade my Ego single stage snowblower to an Ego 2 stage snowblower. I went to research the 2 stage snowblower on Egos website before deciding to purchase. On the product web page, there is a Where to buy link. I clicked on that link and was directed to Prairie Power Center at *****************************************************************************************. I called them and confirmed that they had the model I was looking for in stock. I purchased the blower on 12/29/2021. I first used the blower on 1/23/2022 and discovered an alignment issue. I called Ego to start a warranty claim. But Ego claims the dealer that I was directed to on their website is not an authorized dealer. Ego lists Middleton Power Center as an authorized dealer, Prairie Power Centers sister location, owned by the same owner. Yet Ego is telling me they wont honor the 5 year warranty on this $1,400 snowblower since they dont have the *********** Power Center listed as an authorized dealer. I registered the snowblower with Ego the same day I purchased it. I did everything possible to purchase the snowblower from an authorized dealer, but because of an error or glitch on Egos end, I dont have a warranty on this product. I am trying to get Ego to honor the warranty or give my money back. This is their error, not mine. Ego needs to honor the 5 year warranty they advertise and not hide behind policy for their mistake.Initial Complaint

I purchased a battery powered snowblower, it is supposed to clean an 18 car driveway with 8 inches of snow on one battery charge. I tried several times to clean my driveway on one charge but it can not be done. I have about a 8 car driveway with 4 inches of snow and can not clean it on one charge. I called about the batteries being defective but was told that the battery life is only 38 minutes. Well, that is not what they are advertising on their website. I was told that there was nothing they could do. I feel I should be able to get new batteries if the claim of cleaning a 18 car driveway is the norm for the batteries.
