Insurance company has been giving me problems since I first file my claim I was at a complete stop and the insured by this company hit me from behind which caused me to hit the car in front of me once I was able to move around I picked up the crash report from the police department & contacted them first they wanted me to do all things that the adjuster is suppose to do even with me having medical issues from the car crash then they call me today & state my car is declared a total but they cant give me an estimate because the person I hit hasnt reached out to them although there insured is at fault and not only that my medical condition hasnt been assessed by there company at all although it was there insured fault even states it in the police report this company and customer service is **** poor.Business response

I have been fighting for forever to get in contact with them and after finally speaking to a manager I could not get my issue resolved told I still owed them money I have no way to pay them that because I was not planning on having to play more than the bill its self(I am on a payment plan) the customer service is c*** I am changing companies this company should be shut downBusiness response

Someone hit my parked car causing front end damage. I filed a claim with Unique for the repairs. Based on photos they generated an unreasonable estimate. I couldnt find a body shop no where that would repair the car for their price. The 2 shops the adjuster recommended. 1 had terrible reviews ( people complained their car was more damaged. Than before the repairs ands parts had been stolen off the car). The 2nd shop was overwhelmed with Amazon trucks and didnt know when they would get to my car so I decided to go with the lowest of the body shop estimate that had with a good reputation of doing honest work. I spoke to the adjuster about it and said is this shop ok. He advised that the body shop doesnt deal with Unique. I explained to him that no one wants to deal with you guys but I need my car repaired for work. I asked if I pay can he reimburse my money. He said yes send the receipts. I picked the car up yesterday Tuesday 5/28/2024 and immediately contacted the adjuster. He stated making every excuse not to reimburse my money minus the deductible. He stated he was only willing to pay $739 from his self generated estimate of $1200. I paid $2300 for repairs so I spoke with the manager. She was very condescending and argumentative. I didnt have the energy to fight so Im filling a complaint. I want Unique insurance company to show some ethics, reimburse me for my claim based on the body shop estimate not their low ball self generated estimatesBusiness response

On March 23, 2024, I was hit by a driver insured by Unique Insurance Co. We exchanged information, I filed a police report, and filed claims with both my insurance and Unique as the driver was at fault. Unique, through its adjuster *********************************, admitted to 100% fault and sent an estimate for the repair cost. According to ********, these estimates are based on fair market value and would cover the cost of repairs. However, I have taken this estimate to shops in the area, and all have decided to complete the repair for the estimated prices, as it is around $400 short of the estimated cost of labor. Most notably, Unique claims the fair market rate for labor is $40/hour, but shops have claimed this is closer to $55-60/hour. After raising these concerns with the adjuster, she claimed they would not negotiate the price of labor and that I could either cover the difference in cost or use their pre-approved repair facility. This negotiation tactic violates a claimant's free choice to select a repair shop and amounts to Unfair Business Practices in **********. Based on a similar claim, this seems to be the normal business practice for Unique. A similar claim is also being filed with the New ************* of ************** of Insurance.Business response

I am rejecting this response because no Unique representative has reached out to me. Additionally, despite claims on the phone from the Unique adjuster, no member of Unique has contacted the local repair shop to negotiate the true market value for labor. Therefore, Unique has still failed to provide any clarity on whether my repairs will be properly covered.

I am rejecting this response because the description of the matter as reaching an "impasse" with the claimant and representative is not an accurate recounting of the event. Unique representative stated they would NOT negotiate the cost of labor because they believed their evaluation was "fair market value." However, after finding a repair shop the evaluation by Unique was almost 1/3 short of the necessary cost. This would have required me to pay over $600 out of pocket to repair my car. At no point did Unique dispute the liability of the accident only the amount they were willing to reimburse.At this point, the complaint has been resolved due to personal advocacy and understand of insurers statutory duties and bad faith insurance case law. There is no need for any Unique representative to reach out to me. However, I see Unique has numerous BBB claims that allege similar conduct. I would like to see Unique take more accountability for this complaint and ensure their business practice/procedure for handling claims is in accordance with the statutory laws of the accompanying state.

Insurance Policy Number ILP3378375.***************************** To whom it may concern. On September 28, 2023, I purchased auto insurance from Unique Insurance. I made a down payment of $535.15 which included one month's auto insurance coverage. My monthly auto insurance payment was $209.69 I made my first monthly payment on November 2, 2023. Unique Insurance canceled my auto insurance coverage on November 28, 2023. My Auto insurance coverage was paid up until Dec 28, 2023. The total amount I paid Unique Insurance was ******. Unique Insurance only insured me for 2 months when I should have been insured for 3 months. I am requesting a refund adjustment amount of ******Business response

On Friday, December 8, 2023, my grandson (*****************************) was involved in a car accident which totaled his 2016 ***** Trax. I contacted Unique Insurance Company on Monday, December 8, an informed them that their client *********************************** cause the accident. The customer service representative told me that they had no such client in their system. I obtained a police report of the accident and called Unique Insurance again two days later, again I was told that they had no such client. I called a third time and finally spoke with their customer service person and obtained a claim number (23ILP0007556). On December 15, 2023, I spoke with their insurance adjuster Ms. ***************************** at *************). She advised me to submit the police report in which I did. Since, that phone call, I have not heard from ******************, she will not answer or return my call. I've reached out to Unique Insurance several times and smoke with several representatives. They all have referred me back to ****************** in which to this day I haven't heard from her.Business response

Accident happened on Oct, 23 2023. After I needed questions answered they stopped returning my calls. When papers I needed signed didn't show in the mail they refused to send new ones. I finally got the papers to sign around new years and I sent them in certified mail that same week. I have not received payment for my car or the information to be able to file my gap insurance. And when I speak to anyone other that the operator they are extremely rude to me. I would like my payment and the information I need for my gap insurance so I never have to do business with this company again. They have my car and all signed papers. And I still have a car payment and they are ruining my credit. I also paid several months or insurance without a car and now they are trying to charge me a cancelation fee. They already have that money and then some from me paying 2 months of not having a car.Business response

I had cancel my car insurance policy with Magnum insurance company around 2 weeks ago. I have called to check up on my refund. They are giving me the run around saying it will take up to 6 weeks before I am issued a refund back. I had canceled my policy the next business day. They are saying its out of their hands because they sent it over to their third party Unique insurance company. Please help. They took $332.00 off my debit card.Business response

Insured hit me as he stated did not think he needed to stop at the stop sign. Hit my car as I passed by the street. I was asked to file a claim and upload pictures. I did as requested. I called but was told I was switched to another adjuster. The new adjuster told me they were investigating the claim. The owner said he wasn't driving but the car was not stolen. He said he lent it to his son.I have yet to hear from them.Business response
