    Contracted ****** company to do a remodel of a house my wife and I bought. Quoted at 12k for the demo and the remodel of the bathroom plus a few other things. We paid him 7k. The only part of the remodel he finished was the demo. This has been over 9 months and we are still out our initial 7k deposit. **** has moved to Canton and keeps giving us the run around when it comes to getting our money back. At this time I just want my money back. I would estimate the work completed was only worth MAYBE 2k.

    **** ******** did home improvement for our house last year. His workers did well, but once the job was completed, we had **** give us an estimate for siding on January 13,2022. We agreed to the estimate which required a $9,000 deposit for materials. He cashed the check that same day. Over the winter and early Spring he would not return our calls, texts or emails. We found out that he didn’t pay his workers for jobs over the winter, changed the name of his business to J&M Total Construction that still uses the address of his previous business and a house that he sold. **** told me that he was closing on a new house in Canton, Illinois. We have attempted numerous phone calls/texts that are not answered; emails, also unanswered and the workers that he had have quit….we found out from a sub-contractor who also gave us the address for his new home: ****ua ******** *** ** *** *** ******* ** ***** He’s changed addresses, business names, and emails. ********************* ******************************* I’m a 20 year retired and service connected disabled combat veteran. I need help. I am not the only one that he has done this too. Canton, IL
