I had a terrible experience with ****** grocery store. I walked in for a job interview to work in the produce. The produce man, named "***********", said, "we do not babysit anyone here, just to let you know", He went on to say, "We are not going to babysit you". He was extremely rude. I felt terribly harassed. I am an innocent young person who went in for an interview and left feeling bullied and harassed. It is definitely not acceptable to treat people this way. The next week I spoke to the owner named "*****************". ***************** was extremely rude and condescending. He was verbally abusive to me. He asked what my age was. He was trying to belittle and talk down to me because I was much younger than him. He also raised his voice and interrupted me multiple times. I tried my best to be respectful and calm over the phone with him. I also tried to explain that the produce manager ***********, was supposed to talk to him or the hiring manager about hiring me part-time in the produce. I called him five or six times. He kept saying that he forgot to talk to the other managers about hiring me. As I tried to explain this to *****************, he rudely dismissed me and would not give me the respect to hear my side of the story. He defended his employee regardless of how I was treated so abusively. I do not recommend anyone to work there. The owner ***************** is not a very nice man, neither is the produce manager ***********. It is a toxic store and a toxic work environment. It is also extremely dirty. It smells when you walk in. The workers are not professional at all. The owner does not have good communication skills at all. He is arrogant and extremely disrespectful. I told ***************** that it was unacceptable the way I was treated by the produce manager, "***********." "*****************", replied by asking me rudely, what is unacceptable? "You don't work for us! Actually, they just hired me, but I turned down the position later that day because I was so appalled and turned off. Bad service.
