I have had my car insurance with this company for 10 years. When I got a new car they put my policy under an incorrect car and VIN# that I've never owned. I then got a letter from the state with a $115 fine because they had no insurance listed for my car. I contacted the company and verified they had made a mistake but refused to provide the state with the corrected information that was needed to show I had coverage on the date of the citation from the state. Only the insurance company can provide the state with the verification. I've spent hours and numerous phone calls talking to many people and this is still unresolved and my license was revoked. I contacted American Family Insurance and they said they deal with this all the time and if they had made a mistake it's a simple matter of going to the link on the letter and entering the information. They said it should only take a few minutes and they had no idea why my insurance agent could not handle this simple task. After numerous back and forth calls they then blamed it on me and said it was my responsibility for not noticing that they had made a mistake on the policy.Business response

Dear BBB,
We would like to help our client but we need some additional information. I've attached a document we received from Direct Auto, the insurance carrier providing coverage for our client. Magnum Insurance is the brokerage that helped our client find the insurance coverage through Direct Auto. Magnum itself does not provide any coverage. As you look at the attached document you'll see there are 4 listings. Once vehicle has active coverage. The other 2 vehicles (2008 CHRY Town & Cou) and (2009 Dodg Grand ***** show as being added and deleted at different dates. Could you ask the client to confirm the *** # of the vehicle she actually owns and is referring to in regards of getting things corrected. We would assume the correct vehicle was the 2009 Dodge Caravan, but we want to be sure before we proceed.
