I cant say enough bad things about OrthoIllinois. The doctor I saw looked at my xrays before coming in the room and made up his mind. He asked no questions and claimed the recurrence of my pain was something that just happens. He offered no treatment planI had to suggest physical therapy. The therapists were nice and seemed ok, but since I had no real diagnosis, they didnt help me, although they wanted me to continue coming. So I went to see a chiropractor and within ONE visit was already feeling better. Then when I tried to get my medical records and xrays **************************, I had to fill in a form with another company. I waited several weeks before checking on their status. They wanted me to pay almost $30! After an hour dealing with this intermediary, I finally got the fee waived and am now supposed to get them soon. OrthoIllinois is ALL about the moneypush for expensive tests, keep coming back for therapy, charge for records. Maybe because I didnt need surgery or expensive treatment, thats why my injury and pain were brushed off as something that I should just get used to.

All about the bottom dollar at this place. They did not want to bill my insurance and insisted i pay cash , the entire cost of surgery, upfront. Eventually they went to my insurance and told them this was a pre existing injury after an accident. I had no accident and this was not a pre existing injury. Tried speaking to a supervisor and they turned myself and my insurance company straight to voicemail. The absolute worst health care experience i have ever had. They dont care about you, they care about your wallet. Please find yourself another office to get the help you deserve.

OrthoIllinois is contracted and In-Network with most major insurance providers. There are insurance providers that we do not work with and patients are informed when their insurance is not accepted and provided with a cost estimate for services. When insurance coverage is not available, our policy is to request payment prior to surgical procedures.

I had a left knee replacement in February of 2018. In 2019 the right knee was done in February which turned out fine. Still was having trouble with hyperextension of the left knee which the surgeon (Dr. ********** determined I needed surgery right away. He told me all the tissue had torn away from the implant. Good trick, seeing as how there is no tissue on the implant. What he did was damage my my quad muscle and quad tendon. He carried me on for 3 years telling me all I needed to do was swim and and it would strengthen my muscles to support a damaged quad and tendon. Most everyone I dealt with in PT made me feel as though it was my fault, that I was not working hard enough. I mechanically could not make my left knee work to raise my lower leg. I was told that I was not to be allowed to use my insurance company just to have a place to come and work out.I should join a gym. After he retired, I went to see **************** who had no time for me and never warned me of the risks of surgery. He referred me to the dr. who took over for the one who retied. Not trusting him, I went to ******* for a 2nd opinion. I was informed, the surgery that needed to be performed, needed to use mesh. This was too risky as the rate of infection was so high and there maybe a possible amputation. I will have to walk with some sort of aide such as a large brace for the rest of my life. Orthoillinois is just a hive of incompetence. I am angry! I trusted these doctors and what did I receive in return? A knee that feels like 2 oranges in a tube sock with a bandaid on the front! Im constantly falling and fell at the appointment with ******. Finally they did an MRI where the injury from inadequate surgery was discovered. All I wanted to do was walk my dog and now hes dead. I have another dog now, but will not be able to give him that same promise. I will never go dancing again or hiking because of an unqualified dr. ** you value your knees, stay away from Riverside Orthoillinois!
