I purchased a **** ***** Silverado Truck from this dealer in April 2023. Within the first few months of me driving the Truck I noticed I did not get very good gas mileage (only 12 miles per gallon). I took the Truck to the dealer's service department and technicians agreed that I should get better gas mileage, but when they performed diagnostics, they tell me that nothing is wrong with the Truck. Over the next few months, I took the Truck in 2 more times as the gas mileage went lower and lower, and again I was told there was nothing wrong with the Truck. I then spoke with someone in the business department who told me to use high octane gas from Shell, which I did, and of course it made no difference to the gas mileage. On 1/3/24, my girlfriend spoke with the dealer's service department manager, ***********************, who acknowledged that I had come in with concerns about my gas mileage. **** initially tried to help and tried to look up if there were noted issues with this Truck, but when he could not find anything, he started talking about this being a large Truck that uses a lot of gas. When my girlfriend mentioned the sticker in the Truck said it gets 16 miles per gallon, **** said that was only under "ideal" conditions, and vehicles rarely get the listed mileage, which I call DECEPTION. **** agreed to contact ************** and said he would call back in 2 days, but he has not, and he is no longer responding to my girlfriends' calls. Now that the temperature has dropped in IL, I only get 4-5 miles per gallon, which is absolutely absurd. Since **** has stopped responding to calls, I have tried to contact my service advisor ***********************, but he is also not responding to calls or emails. It is quite clear that this dealership is not trying to help me resolve this issue and I am hoping that you can assist.Thank you.

After doing some research, it looks like the customer ****** their vehicle in on 1/31/24 for service on a fuel economy concern (Repair Order attached). After inspection, there were no codes found active in the 2500HD for any drivability issues. The truck meets all expectations. The dealership did contact ************** TAC center care, who advised that it could be with idle time, driving styles, different loads with the truck, etc. ************** states the 2024 2500 Heavy Duty Pick Up Truck is to get 16 MPG. This is false information, as GM does not have a mileage rating on its heavy duty trucks.

I am rejecting this response because: The business failed to say that I brought my truck in twice prior to January 2024, complaining of the low gas mileage I was getting. Both times different mechanics agreed that the gas mileage my truck was getting was very low and that something must be wrong. However, when diagnostics were performed and no codes came up, I was told that nothing was wrong with the truck, and my complaints were brushed under the rug. GM got involved AFTER I filed a complaint with the BBB. I brought my truck back to the dealership on 1/25/24, at which time I was told that other customers who purchased the same model truck had started to complain about the low gas mileage. At the end of that day, I was told that they still could not figure out what was wrong and that a technician needed to come in with a specialized testing machine. I brought the truck back to the dealership on 1/29/24 and picked it back up on 1/30/24. At that time, I was told that they still don't know what is wrong and that an Engineer needed to come look at my truck. However, the Engineer never looked at my truck. Instead, I received a call a few weeks later and was told that there was nothing wrong with my truck and the work ticket was closed. It is true that they no longer have mileage listed on the sticker in the truck's window, but that was not the case one year ago when I purchased ************ guess is that the change was made after customers were complaining about the low gas mileage they were getting, that was MUCH lower than was listed on the sticker. So, what it boils down to is that the gas mileage was falsely advertised and that Gjovick Chevrolet of Sandwhich, IL has VERY POOR customer service. If I had known that the truck only gets 4-5 miles per gallon during cold weather, I would definitely not have purchased it. I want to trade the truck in for a different brand, but would take a huge loss at this time, and of course, Gjovik Chevrolet of Sandwich, ** could not care less.

      Sincerely,

      *************************

I am rejecting this response because: I am NOT satisfied with how Gjovik Chevrolet handled my concern about the gas mileage of my truck. I know for a fact that other people who have purchased the same model truck, are complaining about the low gas mileage. However, instead of continuing to investigate to figure out what the issue is, they are now saying there is no suggested gas mileage for that model truck. So what they are saying that getting only 4-5 miles per gallon in colder weather is normal? This is absolutely ridiculous and no one would buy this truck if they knew of this, which makes this deceptive practice. I do not have faith that Gjovik Chevrolet will do anything further to help resolve my issue and I am out of a large amount of money. This is by far the worst vehicle purchase I have ever made and I will not only NEVER do business with Gjovik again, but I will be sure to share my story with as many people as possible to prevent them from losing a lot of money.

      Sincerely,

      ******* Abens

1/19/2023 my ********** emailed Gjovik's Chevrolet in ********, ** about a car that I was interested in and wanted to come test drive. When we got there, the saleswomen (*************************) told us she could not find the car & said there was another one (2013 ***** Equinox) that I may like. My mother (*****************************) and I drove the car and liked it, but I had my reserves about the higher price. ***** brought in a manager to tell us how reliable the car was, and assured us over and over that it had been bought new from *********** had done all the service work for the previous owner, so they were sure that it was a quality vehicle. While we were discussing it, they managed to find the other ******** test drove that, but it didn't have as many safety features and with everything they had to say about the reliability of the 2013 Equinox, I decided to go ahead with the purchase. We drove to ******* for a family vacation, & after we returned home the Equinox started making noise & wasn't running properly. I called ******************************* had me bring it in on 2/7/2023. They informed me that the Timing Chain needed to be replaced, & they would take care of it, because they stand behind the cars they sell. We questioned it going out at such low mileage (******), they said wasn't uncommon. When it started making the same noise so I took it back in 3/31/2023. I called to see what the problem was, I was told they did an oil change & I need to check my oil every 500-1000 miles. My parents went to get it so they could question why the oil needed to be checked so often. *********************** told them, there had been a special service issue on the car that expired in 2020 & we should contact Chevrolet for a solution. Chevrolet said, it was the Dealerships problem that we weren't notified. We have emailed *********************** twice & left a voicemail for ******************************* & as of today have yet to hear back. I would like them to take back the car for what I paid or replace it with something similar.

      Hello,

I apologize, this has just been brought to my attention.

We are in the process of an owner change and the file has not been updated.

      *************************, Case# ********

After researching, I see a Repair Oder (attached) showing that we were able to replace the engine for the customer through a goodwill program with the manufacturer which included an agreed upon cost between us and the customer.

I hope the customer was satisfied with the outcome and I hope we can earn their business in the future.

      Thank you,
