    Went in to get bridesmaid dresses and a free bridal robe I won. My bridal party was sick so backed out the morning of. I went in with my niece and 9 yr old daughter while there saw a dress asked to try on was told no didn't have an appt. While girls were trying on dresses lady brought the dress for me to try on. Wasn't sold on the dress didn't have a train. Asked if more could be added she said she would have to check. Was told one of a kind dress. They were closed was told to get special price I had to buy the dress then I said wasn't expecting to buy a dress cuz no one was with and wanted to see if I could add to the train. They asked how much money I had I said 200. Said has to be pd but can hold til tomorrow. I said I didn't want the veil or ***** said to late we would have to start the order over and we are closed. Got home reached out to my friend who owns a bridal salon and I asked if she could find out about the train. She did and comes to find out the dress is discontinued. When going back to hob for another bridesmaid appt showed the lady the email from the company disc. She called today about the dress I said I don't want it I know it's disc. I want the money put in my daughters bm dress. Was told no. I would not get my money back. I said nothing was ordered I was not told I would not get it back. I said I told her I wasn't sure I would even purchase. Was told did she force you to put the money down. I said well to get that ***** was told I had to. I said you are not out money you ordered nothing she said it was for the ***********. I said why do I need to pay for your *********** when it is her job and she gets a hourly wage? I just want it put toward my daughter dress that we never got pricing for or any paperwork on. These people expect to take my money to supposedly sell me a one of a kind dress that is mass produced that has been discontinued and never order it let alone tell me that if I put money down I can't get it back. This is absurd.

    I wish I had read these reviews before going here. My experience was with the Lombard location. I was told they could put sleeves on almost any dress which was something that I needed and why I bought there. I chose a dress and talked extensively with the sales person about what kind of sleeve. Her way of measuring me was to have me put a dress on from the same company, it fit so that was the size she ordered. Thought it a little strange but I dont go into bridal shops for clothes, so it was ordered. The dress was due in the middle of July. That day came and went with no call to update me. I called and was told it hadnt been cut yet., it would be another two weeks. That day came and went with no call from anyone. I called a third time and a few days later the dress finally came in one month late. The wedding date is sept 7, now it is august, the dress is two sizes too small and no material was ever ordered for the sleeves. They called the manufacturer and they could get me a dress one week after the wedding. The only person who said anything to me was the seamstress. Not once did my salesperson come into the dressing room to apologize or tell me what was/ could be done. They called the manager who never answered and never once called me to apologize. I had to go out the next day and find a sample dress that I could get immediately since the wedding was just a few weeks away. I had to go into the store to get my refund and again not a single apology, they wouldnt even look me in the eye. Stay far,far away from this place. You would get better customer service at *******. If I could have this would be a zero star review but they dont let you do that.

    We appreciate the review and apologize for any inconvenience to the customer. The customer purchased a special order occasions dress on June 24th with an event date of September 7th. Special order means the dress is not available in-stock or off the rack. Instead, the designer makes the dress according to the style, size and color of the order. The customer tried on a size 14 sample at the store that fit slightly snug. She chose to order a size 16. The customer selects and is responsible for the size ordered. The customer discussed adding sleeves to the dress, which the consultant confirmed we can add the sleeves upon receipt of the dress and in alterations. Typically, standard production for this style is approximately 8-weeks. The customer chose the rush delivery option, which means the designer will make the dress under their standard delivery time frame. We place the order the same or next business day. The designer confirmed and estimated the order to finish production for mid-July. This time frame is an estimate only and can change according to the designer's production schedule. The designer completed production approximately towards the end of July and the order was shipped and received at House of Brides Couture in ******* August 5th. A representative contacted the customer and scheduled her fitting appointment. The customer came in and tried the dress on with the Alterations Manager. The dress arrived as ordered but fit tight. It appeared the customer gained weight since her purchase. The designer did not have a lager size available by the event date and the customer did not want to address the fit in alterations. The Alterations Manager explained again we add sleeves during alterations and we had the fabric available. However, the customer was unsatisfied with the tight fit of the dress and requested a refund. We refunded the customer.
