My nightmare started back March 2024 when they came around the neighborhood with no permits either which they said they had. Right off the bat I advised them that I wanted a metal roof since I was done dealing with storm damage roofs. I was told no problem we do them. Having the insurance company come out they were on top of that 100% they wanted the job. After the insurance company handed me the check that's when the problems started. I was told that a metal roof would cost 3 to.4 times the money that a regular roof would cost. I went back to alpha roofing with my quote and told them I want my metal roof and can you explain to me how it's going to be 3 to 4 times higher then shingles. They couldn't explain why. After a lot of back and fourth we started moving forward with my metal roof. Months went by and I didn't hear anything from them. Once again I had to reach out to alpha storm solutions to only be given the run around again. Finally after months I had an installation date. That date came and went with more excuses. Then I got a second installation date for that also to come and go. Then a third also to come and go with more lies and excuses. I was ****** they had half of my money and I still didn't have my roof. I started my own investigation and started calling suppliers to only get more ****** off. By the second or third day I found out that my materials were never ordered at all. After I called *** supply on the first day of my investigation is when my materials were placed to the steal company. Which I didn't find out about my order having issues until I called the steel supply company myself. They informed me my order was placed last night. Now with my proof I called alpha storm solutions back and give them a piece of my mind. To only receive lies and excuses from until I gave them the information I received through my investigation They received my last payment in October and I was advised I would be receiving my final packet with my warranty paperwork within three weeks.Business Response

In regards to your complaints listed. Yes it is standard that a metal roof cost 2-4x more than a standard asphalt shingle roof would cost. This is standard in the industry based on material cost and skilled labor costs. The build dates that came and went were given as tentative build dates assuming materials arrived for installation. Yes we missed the original build dates as we had no material delivered to us to install from the manufacturer. As you're well aware this turned out to be a communication issue where we were receiving bad information from our supplier regarding the materials drop dates. This was also resolved as our supplier gave you a fairly substantial credit towards your bill for these issues which you accepted. Once materials were actually available to us we personally went directly to the manufacturer and picked them up ourselves to deliver to your home. The roof was installed by us within 7 days of us having access to the materials, and your gutters were installed within 7 days of the roof being completed. There was one issue with a satellite dish that was installed on the roof where it originally was installed, you had your satellite company move it to the wall which left holes from mounting in the roof panel. a replacement panel was ordered, delivered, and replaced within one week at no charge to you. We resolved any and all concerns you had prior to receiving final payment to close your job last year. I'm sure things could have gone smoother and I do apologize that we did have some setbacks on this particular job, however the setbacks were not due to anything done on Alpha Storms part and you were aware when you received your credit from our supplier. Otherwise Alpha installed all materials correctly, up to code, and confirmed by your third party inspector all within 14 days of having actual materials available for us to install, and again confirmed that all concerns were resolved prior to us accepting your final payments.Customer Answer

This company has not followed through on anything. I have had 4 re schedule dates for installation. Them saying that the roof was put on in a timely manner is a lie. My account has been paid in full.since September October 2024 and still i haven't received my warranty paperwork. Once again I have had to contact them to find out why I haven't received my warranty paperwork. The sales manager told me it was sent out on November 19th 2024 still haven't received any paperwork. I went to the place of business and talked to Renee and ahe told me that my paperwork hasn't been sent out yet and they are waiting on *** to send them the invoice number since ******************************** hasn't followed through on anything since March when I signed their contract. This company likes to blame everyone else but themselves for their lack of communication,.follow through, and any problems that come up. I even asked to talk to the owner on 3 different times and never got a return call from the owner. As a Home owner I shouldn't have to do their jobs but I had to every step of the way to have my roof completed. At no time have they stepped up and fix any of their problems that continue to happen.Business Response

While obviously unhappy in the overall experience, which Alpha Storm is as well since we were unfortunately given bad information by our supplier on multiple occasions. The facts are the facts. This is a metal roof which must be cut per job. This is not something that we can just swing by a supplier and pick up to install. That being said we can not install a metal roof, when we have no panels to install it. We were given bad information regarding the order being placed and the homeowner is aware of this and accepted a large credit from our supplier due to their mistakes. This was not an alpha storm mistake and the homeowner is well aware of this. Saying that we had no follow up and that we missed multiple install dates once again falls on us being told we would have materials at a certain date, and then the custom cut materials not arriving as we were told. We would have loved to install this roof sooner, however we can not install materials that we do not have access to. Again to reiterate, the roof was scheduled and installed within 7 days of Alpha receiving the metal panels, Gutters were then completed within 7 days of the roof. The panel replacement after the homeowner had her dish company remove the dish from the roof and install it on the side of the house after we had already installed the new roof, was also ordered and installed within 7 days of us being told she had relocated the dish. The only other issue during the build was a small acrylic bird feeder that was cracked by a ladder. The replacement bird feeder was ordered and dropped off to her in person the following week. Due to the homeowner still being upset regarding the job's overall timeline, Alpha offered an additional credit to the job to please the homeowner which she accepted. In regards to stating the job was paid in full in September/ October, we received no payments in September, we received 5 cashiers checks in October which still left a balance. We did not receive the final cashiers check to pay the account in full until November 19th. The job was closed out and paperwork mailed at that time. We were not notified by the homeowner that she had not received the paperwork until Jan 7th. Unfortunately the person notified at that time was our sales director who was at the time admitted in the hospital due to severe health concerns. The homeowner then stopped into the office on January 15th and notified our office that she had not received the warranty paperwork in the mail. The warranty paperwork was put together and mailed out again on January 16th.Once again although admittedly frustrating that the job did not progress as quickly as it should have. We have clearly demonstrated this was an issue on our suppliers end getting us materials and was not something Alpha could directly supply. Our missed installs were based on dates given to us by the supplier and the homeowner was notified of materials not coming in time as soon as we were notified that the materials had missed their delivery dates by the supplier. The homeowner was aware of this and accepted credits from the supplier for this. The homeowner also accepted additional inconvenience credit from alpha, all of which was line itemed on her final bill prior to receiving her payments in october. The homeowner was on good terms with us regarding any concerns when she made final payment in november, the roof material delivery and install date can be confirmed within 1 week of each other, and her third party inspection company passed inspection stating everything looked good and was installed per local building codes. Coming back three months after job completion to file a complaint when all physical complaints were already rectified and credits were accepted by the homeowner doesn't seem to make sense. If we had true issues on this home i dont believe this would have waited 3 months to surface. especially when everything passed inspections. and again paperwork has been re-sent in the mail within 7 business days of our sales director being notified that she did not receive the prior paperwork.Customer Answer

I noticed subpar roofing - flashing unsecured and failed to nail or block existing nail hole from roof removal. After I complained multiple times to ****- refused to come out to try to help me resolve. Jake ************** also promised to take care of some damage inside the house from water- painting and dry wall repair and also repair screens they did none of that and also the initial cost increase and they called my insurance company and billed them for more basically its a bait and switchBusiness Response

I would like to start of by giving a time line of events.
This job was approved by the insurance in May of 2017 and noted that the homeowner's out of pocket was $656 because he was using his ACV funds from the downspouts and the interior work approved towards his deductible.
we did the roof work in August of 2017 ( the delay was at the homeowners request due to personal issues)
final Payment was receive in December of 2017.
no contact from this homeowner until February of 2019 when he called in in a complaint of a gutter screen missing claiming our crew took it and a leak on a 3 seasons room at a seem (we did not do work in the 3 seasons room as it was out of our realm of work)
we explained then we did not do the work therefore we were not addressing the leak and that since it had been over a year anything could have happened to the gutter screen.
next contact is this complaint, we have not heard from this customer since February of 2019 with any issue. Now his complaint alleges that we refused to fix a flashing issue that we have no record of that issue as well would have handled that within days.
as for the price change, it is common practice to supplement the insurance company for things they missed or have the wrong pricing on. if what we were doing wasn't correct the insurance company would have denied it, yet they approved them. we did not change the cost to the homeowner in any way.
we completely resent the company being called a bait and switch company
We offer a lifetime workmanship warranty on all the work we do, so if there is a legitimate issue with work we have actually done for this customer we would be happy to fix it.

We have since bee to this customers house and collected payment. We have apologized for the lack of communication due to our crew not showing up. As for the actual issue, this was pre existing and part of the roof which we did not do. we showed her photos that we before picture to show it was pre existing. I had not responded to this complaint sooner as she had told my sales manager she was removing this complaint. as far as I am aware the homeowner and us are on the same page and this is a non issue and has been closed in our system.
