We had a mower accident that left a hole in the ac unit at the house I live in at 50 Midland Ct. On June 21, 2022 a man with Adams Heating & Cooling came to fix it. He braised the condenser coil (a $200 charge) and put 1.5 lbs of R-22 freon in it (a $100 charge) costing a total of $300. The time he took to make this repair was about 30 minutes total. The air was barely coming out of the vents but he reassured us that it will be back to normal in a day. It did not. We waited three days for it to cool down with no prevail. We reached out three different times to get the same guy to come out again because the ac still was not working correctly. Each time he said he would come the guy did not show up nor did he reach out to say he wasn't coming. Come June 30 the ac unit still isn't working and Adams Heating & Cooling is ignoring my phone calls so I reached out to my landlord for advice. She gave me the name of a trusted company, ******* *******, to look at the ac unit. The guy from ******* ******* came out that same day and informed me of the incomplete repair the guy before did. The second guy had to remove the braze that was on the coil because it didn't adhere properly because the guy that attempted to fix it before didn't sand down and clean of the copper first before braising the coil. The second guy informed me that 5 lbs of freon is what the unit requires NOT 1.5 lbs. The second guy also mentioned that between the coil not being braised properly and not having enough freon in the ac unit could have caused further damage if not addressed. When bringing these issues up to Adams Heating & Cooling, it was not until I called and left a message stating that I will be making a claim with the Better Business Bureau that he finally returned my call. The call was pointless because the man just argued with me instead of rectifying the situation and refuses to refund me my $300! It is not okay for a business to take advantage of people who are not educated in fixing ac units
