I paid for full set of tooth implants, plus follow-up work that was supposed to be covered (guaranteed for one year after implants were placed). A list of problems was discussed with the dentist, some of which can't be rectified, and others that would require additional work. Also a cleaning was to be included in the amount already paid. The normal cost for tooth cleaning at this clinic was presented as $400.00. The clinic closed suddenly and unexpectedly leaving me without resolving the problems. According to another patient, she was told to come to one of their Illinois clinics. This is impractical because the Illinois clinics are over 100 miles away. I would prefer to have another dental practitioner render a second opinion for starters, then complete and/or correct the problems. At this point no dollar amount is known or available but I would expect *** to pay for the additional needed work. Other patients were in various stages of care and treatment; they too are "stranded". Payment in full was required prior to initiation of any treatment.Initial Complaint

I had upper and lower full implants put in by Eon Clinics in July of 2020. At that time, immediately following the surgery, at my first visit which was about a week after surgery, they discovered that my gum in the front lower did not close around the bone. They assured me, at that time, that the gum would close around the bone and everything would be fine. A year later, after much pain and discomfort, when the gum hadn't closed. Plus continuous visits to Eon because of this reason. Plus going for a second opinion at a different prosthodontist and was told the bone was necrotic and the gum would never close around it. I insisted they do surgery to close it. The surgeons at Eon Clinics had to remove the bone in order to close the gum as it died over the year of being exposed. As they continued to assure me it would be fine.. Approximately 6 months ago, at a cleaning with Eon, they told me the bone in that area was not supporting the posts. They wanted to charge me $2,100 to put bone grafting in the area. I told them at the time that they caused this to happen and I want them to fix it without charge whatever needs to be done. They refuse to do it. I asked to speak to the owner, the owner has not called me. I have gone to another dentist who said that that post is lost and it needs to be pulled. At this point I don't know the extent of my additional costs. Or the extent of the two posts that were affected by their negligence. They are ignoring my calls to fix this and I now need to go and spend additional money elsewhere and I have no idea what that cost is going to be. Eon Clinics failed me after I've spent, $44,000.Initial Complaint

Cancelled my procedure due to fear of the providers ability to safely perform. Routine tooth extraction gone terribly wrong. The pain and bleeding afterward was unbearable. I was unable to work for 2 days afterwards as well. I decided it was not worth the risk to get further treatment at this office. I have been trying to cancel and get a refund back for months. I was finally able to get my loan cancelled, but am still waiting for the money I paid out of pocket. I have tried contacting this office and their other locations and the phone just rings and rings. I dont know what else to do. This goes back to August of 2024.Initial Complaint

Used ********** to have a tooth replacement. Tooth was extracted and post was implanted. Had appointment 8/8 to get the final steps started. *** contacted me on 8/6 to say that they didn't have a dentist that day. Would not give any other appointment time. Several calls went unanswered. Finally got ahold of a answering service who said that the dentist is on maternity leave. Said to call back after at least a month. If this office can not finish services, there should be others to help. Services paid in full with HSA funds.Business Response

I, ************************* purchased snap in dentures, March 22 2023 at the Munsert, ******* clinic. I paid a deposit of $8500 to have my dentures designed. It took 2 months for the denture to be created. I then paid the remaining balance of $3000 to have the dentures implanted in July 2023. The orthodontist implanted two permanent support arches instead of four. The contract says to implant four. During the fitting in May 2023, the sample dentures fit okay, with the two support arches. EON Clinics was to now create the the actual dentures. The dentures were not ready until mid-September 2023. The snap-in dentures broke in half 3 weeks later. Could be due to the design or the lack of support arches. Contacted the EON Clinics to advise of the break and they had me take them in. The orthodontist started making new dentures in October, now I am in March 2024. Picked up the new dentures March 24 and they still do not fit, snap or stay in my mouth. EON Clinics has to fix them again. It has been 1 year with this company and I do not have the product that I paid $11,500 for. I am requesting a refund and dissolve communication. The clinic is unable to fulfill their obligation.Business Response

At my last visit on or about 2/9 was told I would get a call back about my future treatment and possible new prosthesis. Since I didn't get a call back I called on 2/19, however I was transfer to the Indiana location because the office was closed. I talk to ***** the operations manager and advised her what was going on-and she was going to get someone call back, since I still haven't gotten a call back I called and left ***** a message on 8/26 and today and still no call back. This is not the only issue. They don't listen to your complaints. I kept saying my implant was broke but they kept saying it was the abutment. I had them take out the abutment and I was right. They scheduled surgery and placed to implants without any explanation. I didn't know the implant was not placed in the exact spot until my last visit on 2/9 and that is when I was told I will need a new prosthesis. I've had 5 different dentists since my teeth were place in 2015. The only dentists that listen and did excellent work was **************** and ************(not sure of the spelling). I had one doctor told me not to be a baby when I was in pain from a broken implant previously which was found by one of the dental assistant. I'm having sensitivity from missing plugs and my teeth have not been clean in over 6 months.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: First I want to respond to the comment about my habits and maintenance. I was very committed keeping my teeth and gums clean. I showed up for every cleaning which was twice a year. I never ate red meat such as steak that would cause heavy chewing. I was never informed by anybody at the clinic during surgery they were not going to replace the implant instead they chose to go ahead and place new 2 implants which means a new upper denture. Secondly they first insisted it was the embutmen and try to tighten it which caused a lot of pain until I came back and they finally listen to me stating it was the implant . Per the warranty my teeth are covered for lifetime for any repairs recommended to a defect in material or workmanship as long as I was seen every six months for cleaning and maintenance which I did. This a was failed implant. I was inform they no longer follow the warranty however I was never informed of this. This is not the same company that took care of me in the past.
Sincerely,

On 8/24/23 Risks/benefits/alternatives were reviewed with the patient. The patient signed the consent forms with witnesses that stated 2 new implants would be placed. On 6/29/23 patient was informed by the Oral Surgeon that retro-fitting a prosthesis to a new implant where there is soft bone is not advisable due to the increased risk of complications. The patient's implant failure was not due to a defect in material or workmanship but to bone loss.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because I was never told about the placements of the implants. I never received a call back from eon clinic with the surgeon and doctor discussion results because they had a different opinion about the new implants could fail The surgeon did not feel the new implants would failed. I never received in writing the one year warranty as promised. I started complaint of the issue to my #7 implant back in 2/23. On 3/13/23 record noted Upon prosth torquing the implant at site of 7 it came loose of its placement and was removed easily.
Plan is to allow the area to heal for 3 months and replace failed implant at site of 7. This note clearly shows the implant had to be torque to be removed. No where in the medical records is a discussion they would be u able to replace the #7 implant. I was not aware of this until the follow up visit. I am so sorry a spent $40 grand if I knew this was not going to work.
Sincerely,

Transaction took place . On Jan 11 2023. The main issue I had was that EON Lied to me about the detail of the Loan . Telling me that this was a medical Loan and i was the only one liable for the loan because I was the only applicant with no co signer. They only told me that there would be a ****. dollar if i canceled for some reason.. They never say a single word about other cancellation fees . Then while I was in the chair taking impressions they handed me a pile of paper . Consent Forms and that is where they got me in that consent form stack there were fees for cancellation . I called the lender on Jan 13 ******************************************************************* the truth . That if I should die before the loan was completely payed would my wife be responsible for the loan. They said If i were to die my estate would be required to pay the full amount. so I asked them to cancel the loan because i was lied to by ***. They could not cancel because they had already paid Eon on Jan 12 *****. I called Eon and they said because my a surgery date was on Jan 16 2023 so I owed them **** fpr the cancellation . they rushed the day of the surgery it was less the five business days from the application. I told me once I sign the consent form I had no chance to cancel No Chance at all they were get at least **** dollars from me . They had money from the lender and I was just screwed Ha Ha Ha shame on me for trusting the terms of the loan. I thought I had at least 3 days to cancel any contract . I tried to cancel in less the 48 Hours . it was not fast enough . I asked for the model of the teeth i received the models and got papers stated that they had no intention of providing the lower set of implant . After telling me that they were going to do their best to try and place implant on the lower jaw. another Lie that i was told. They refunded money to the lender all except ******************************************************* up for any cancellation . No chanceInitial Complaint

Deceitful practices. Went to Eon as a second estimate. Told them about the product and price offered at Clear Choice implant agency ($55,000). *** Consultant said she used to work for Clear Choice and that Eon offered the same product for less so I chose Eon and paid cash. Also advised *** that Clear Choice offered to come down $5000 on their price when I told them I was not choosing them, but I went with Eon to get the same product for less. Near end of the total process Eon advised that the permanent teeth material would be the same as the temporary teeth just with a bar added to give stability. Told there is a better product and I could only get the quality product (which was what Clear Choice offered) if I give them ~$10,000 more. This was never divulged in the initial consultation or at any time prior to that. Also during the time with temporary teeth I had several occasions where plugs fell out leaving holes. Told by tech "not important" but I found it allowed food to get trapped which was an issue. Another issue was teeth became extremely loose on bottom on a Friday and no way to get anything done until following Monday - no emergency number or resource. The ideal solution to this complaint would be that I receive the teeth that I was promised I was getting, (which I would have gotten from Clear Choice), at the cost I was quoted without having to pay anything additional.Business Response

Patient was offered two options for prosthetic material at the initial consultation. When the patient committed to moving forward, the material of his choosing was clearly identified on sales collateral and on contractual agreement. It should be noted that with either choice, both prices were lower than a competitive quote the patient had received from another provider. Based on price alone the patient initially chose the hybrid acrylic prosthesis. Our Clinic has been notified and is currently in communication wit the patient. We are confident in a resolution.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:The business never gave me 2 options for materials at the onset, as they indicated in their response. I was only ever told about one type of material. The second material at an additional cost only came up when I was more than halfway through the entire process. After this complaint to BBB I was given an offer to get the better material for $6000 instead of $9900+. That amount was still higher than I anticipated I should pay. I spoke with someone (******) who indicated she would talk with the 'owner' and see if they could offer a better price. After several calls and promises of returning my call, she finally came back indicating that the owner said they couldn't go any lower. I've decided to go forward with getting the teeth that I've already paid $44,000 cash for, however I'm not at all pleased with the lack of willingness by the company to resolve this issue to my satisfaction.

It looks as if you have been working with the clinic to resolve the issue as best as possible. As a representative of the Eon Clinics, I can assure you that the reason Implant restorations are expensive for consumers is because they are expensive for any provider to deliver- this means Eon Clinics as well. Our business is NOT a 'high margin' business.
Costs get eaten up by raw materials, labor, overhead and advertising very quickly. It also looks like the Clinic Manager has partnered with owners to arrange an "at cost" plan if you wanted to go with Zirconia. By your last entry "I've decided to go forward with getting the teeth that I've already paid $44,000 cash for, however I'm not at all pleased with the lack of willingness by the company to resolve this issue to my satisfaction", I see you have chosen a definitive prosthesis made of Acrylic/Titanium which is a great choice.
If there is anything else you need, please feel free to reach out to **** ******* Manager) as she is your best source for assistance in matters such as these. I do not have the ability to make financial arrangements, override clinic decisions or partner with ownership for patients.
Wishing you the best,
*****
