I contracted this business to remodel primary bathroom. Throughout project there were concerns voiced regarding quality of workmanship. One major concern was the replacement of a wall that the vanity was to be installed on. This wall was not installed level. When the quartz was to be installed, this contractor advised that it could not be installed due to the non-level condition of the wall. Therefore the wall had to be completely removed and replaced. This contractor is charging me TWICE for the completion of this wall. As it is an error on the part of his staff that initially constructed the wall incorrectly I do not feel I should be charged for the wall that needed to be corrected. We have not come to an agreement regarding the $800 he feels I owe. I have paid him for all the other work that was agreed upon. There were many other issues we had with this contractor including being charged for supplies that were not used on our project or left for our use after the project. Also charging for supplies that would be considered part of their work product. Throughout the project i have supplied this contractor with lists of issues that were occurring. at the time. If you require this documentation, please let me know. I am wanting the $800 remainder waived and to have him stop threatening me with a contractors lien.

During the renovation of a small bathroom in December 2021, workers from Get Flooring brought two 50-pound bags of mortar to our home. When the work was completed, the bags of mortar were left in our front yard beside the left end of the porch. In spite of several calls to Get Flooring, they have not returned to remove the bags.

    To Whom it may concern,

We have received the complaint from the client and the job order that was signed by the client has been attached for review. In our work orders it clearly states that all materials are to be supplied by the client. The client has an option to supply them on site for the installers, or they have the option to have our installers pick up the materials and we provide a delivery charge. In the work order it also provides a waste removal fee. There is nowhere in our contract that it states after we supply materials for a client that we are to pick up the extra materials and dispose of them. Any materials that are leftover is the materials of the client. This is not the responsibility of the installers nor our company and not an additional service we provide. Any questions, please feel free to contact us at the above referenced email. Hope this work order and signature of approval from the client acknowledging this helps. Thank you and have a nice day.

    Complaint: 17013052

I am rejecting this response because:

We will supply some background to our complaint.  We contracted to have
our sheet vinyl bathroom floor replaced with porcelain tile. It was
explained that the floor would be demo'd, new duroc installed, the
porcelain laid, and installation of a new 'transition' from the
    bathroom floor to the hallway.

The installer from Get Flooring did not do a complete demo; he peeled
off the vinyl, sanded the existing subfloor, installed the porcelain
and did not do anything with the transition.

When I received the invoice after the job, I saw that I had been
charged for 2 50# bags of mortar (which would cover 134 sq ft (my bath
is 30sq ft), 2 sheets of duroc, a box of nails to secure the duroc, 50
contractor bags (the worker used 2).  I told the business manager,
***************************, that I was not willing to pay for items that were not
used in my job.  She said she checked with the employees and then
waived the entire fee for the materials. This means that I did NOT pay
for the 2 bags of mortar that were left by the side of my house. (I do
have a question why there are 2 unopened bags of mortar--what was used
to secure the porcelain to the base?).

I contacted **** ************** who I was told was the project manager
(he is also the owner of the business) who told me to throw it away in
my trash.  I cannot move the bags, and if I could, my weight limit for
my trash is 50#.  I told him that was unacceptable. On Jan 14, 2022,
he emailed "maybe I'll stop by today to pick up." See attached screen
    shot of his email.

On Jan 19, ******************************* emailed that **** said "when he is in the
********* area that he can pick it up,"  See attached Jan 19 screen
    shot.

Last week, we received a call from someone at Get Flooring who said
the bags would be picked up immediately.  This did not happen, in fact
the next day, we received the reply from Get Flooring to the BBB.

We are not trying to get any money back for a substandard job; we are
not posting nasty reviews on social media.  We are not asking for an
apology for the extremely disrespectful and unprofessional way this
company has behaved.  We are simply asking them to remove their
property--the two bags of mortar for which I did not pay-- from our
property.  If they are unwilling to do that, we are unwilling to
resolve our complaint to the BBB.

    Sincerely,

    To Whom it may concern,

We did mention about coming by when we are in the area as a courtesy but we are rarely in that area and that is not the territory we deal with normally. Therefore that is why we have not been that way to accommodate their request. As stated in the beginning of the contract, we will pick up materials for a project and any materials that are left over are in the possession of the homeowner and not our materials nor responsibility. We apologize to them if they feel it is an inconvenience, but this is our standard practice that we have always had and no homeowners have had any issues on this matter.

We have had numerous calls from this client regarding this matter and IF by chance we are in that area they will be alerted. But until that time, this is something we do not provide. Just because a homeowner requests and feels that we have to do something that is not in our normal practice and does not mean it warrants a complaint because they have a request that is not in our scope or provided. It clearly states in the estimate that was accepted we pick up materials and deliver them. It does not state we pick up leftover materials used for a homeowners project after the job is done. This was something they were aware of when they first asked about the materials being picked up and when ******** stated we do not provide pick up of materials that were used for their job, they refused to take that for an answer.

Bottom line, these are not our materials and we do not provide serviced to pick up materials. Waste was handled and debris was removed off their site. We fulfilled our responsibilities regarding this project. There is no further comment on this matter and this is where we stand.
