On or about February 2020, I finally gave in and invested in a magic 3.5 cu. ft. electric portable clothes dryer. Upon arrival, I noticed that the slightest touch (i.e touch involving the the very tip of my index finger and my small cat brushing against the door as he walks by) would open the dryer's door. Although I was asked by ********** to send the item back, I made the decision to keep the item because I did not have the original box and we were in the middle of a pandemic. After two years of use, the machine now shuts off seconds after turning it on. I have to wait hours before I can turn it back on again. I can no longer use the dryer. I am unable to have the item replaced because I am out of the warranty. I am now left with the option of spending 500+ on another dryer. Considering how long I have had the dryer, the thought of having to buy another dryer is so unacceptable.Business response

I purchased a fridge from them in Dec of 2021 I told them that the fridge does not work and its still under warranty I was told by a rep if its out of service help they will give me a refund I sent the receipt and proof where it was purchased from. Now Im being told to cut the cord from the fridge and send it to them that means I also have to pay to ship it, that is very dangerous Im a senior to try and cut a cord I have no tools to cut this cord what there asking me I can get a electric shock or even worse. That is not policy it says nowhere on the warranty to do this. I will never deal with them again to actually tell a customer to cut a cord off of a fridge that you can get hurt is very wrong thing to do. Plus its paid for since they dont have a repair place they cant fix it its covid why would you even want a cord back doesnt make sense to me.Business response

Purchased a Magic Chef 27 lbs. Portable Countertop Ice Maker in Stainless Steel Model # HNIM27ST February 17th 2021 from *********** It broke Dec of 21 and was under warranty. We contacted MC Appliances and was told to cut the cord, send a picture of the cut cord, the receipt as well as a picture of the back of the machine and they would issue a refund for the purchase price of $116.22. I have emailed continously to get out refund and now 7 months later, we still do not have our refund. They refuse to return any messages and I want our money back as they promised.Business response

I called Magic Chef on March 23 to report that the refrigerator I bought 9 months ago suddenly stopped working. It took almost a week and several calls to get a a service person scheduled to repair the refrigerator. Magic Chef's service center -- appliance repair professionals, just made excuses.Business response

I purchased a Magic Chef 3 cubic ft Freezer with SS Door from ******* which arrived at my home on March 19, 2020. I purchased this appliance at the beginning of Covid to make ensure my family had nourishing food during an uncertain time. Also we are in our 70's and were not shopping in stores.About 15 months after owning this unit we opened it one day and discovered the bottom covered in an oily, chemical smelling liquid. We lost all our food and never used it again. I am responsible for not reporting this earlier but it would not have mattered as it was a couple of months past Magic Chef's 1 year warranty. This freezer cost $199 plus tax. I personally spoke with a **************** representative at ******************** and she advised there is nothing they can do as the 1 year warranty has passed. She said she could direct me to a repair shop but that I would be responsible to pay for the repair.Business response

I purchased this Magic Chef Dual Wine Cooler it does not cool, I called Magic Chef and they said it is past 1 year warranty, the brochure says the compressor is a 5 year warranty, but I can not get it my self I have to call some service company to order it. Well just to come and check the unit the company will charge 125, plus the labor cost to install the compressor. I ordered a part from Magic chef and it did not help, the part cost me $35. The sad thing is that I love the aesthetics of the wine cooler, it looks brand new. I just want a replacement.
