I purchased a 2013 Buick Encore Convenience from The Auto Ranch after test driving the vehicle (as is). During the sales process, I was informed that the company also does work on vehicles and gets better prices on parts, labor etc. When driving the vehicle home, 3 miles down the road the check engine light came on with a P0420 permanent error code. I contacted them the next business day and was told to bring it in, the front o2 sensor was changed and they believed and informed me that the problem was fixed... to no avail as the light reappeared. After much haggling and waiting I finally got them to change out the front catalytic converter, was informed the problem was fixed and to come get the vehicle over 3 weeks after sitting at their shop and was told to call them if it had any more issues. Driving home with my son following me the check engine light came back on. I pulled it in to a parking lot have the code checked. Now I have P0420 permanent (bank 1) and B3883 and a second B3883 code and oil leaking.I called and told them what happened and they gave me "the mechanics name and number" that worked on the vehicle. I have called the number given multiple times and only get voicemail and no call back. I informed The Auto Ranch that I haven't been able to make contact with the mechanic they are referring me to and what has happened with the vehicle since picking it up this last time. I told them that this vehicle has been nothing but problems since purchasing it, having them work on it and being told the problems was fixed when it hasn't been and now it is even worse than before they worked on the vehicle. I have given the option for them to trade me a vehicle worth the money that I paid for the vehicle that was worked on and sold to me by them that is in worse condition then before it was worked on. *Note* The Auto Ranch has given me 0 paperwork on any repairs done by their company.Business response

My apologies for the late response, I was out of the office last week.
Mr. and ***************** purchased the Buick after test driving the car. They signed and understood the car is as-is . At the time of closing **************** told me his son worked on cars and was looking for work, we were not hiring but will keep him in mind. After the purchase they called and said the check engine light came on, we do everything we can to help our customers so we asked they bring it back so we could check it out. The first time the Buick came back it already needed an oil change so it seemed to be running fine except the check engine light for an oxygen sensor. We installed new O2 sensors (2) and a New Catalytic converter, we also installed rear brakes at cost for the ****** Family . We drove the car for a full day with no issues or lights. They picked up the Buick and a week later he called heated saying the lights on again and he demands I fix it . I asked if he would bring it back in for us to check it out so he did. Upon looking at it the second time someone had been under the hood after our last inspection. Someone else changed the oil and had there hands on the O2 Sensors because it was zip tied up, and the intake had a piece broken . There is under no circumstance a way i can watch over another persons mechanical abilities and I should not be responsible for the outcome of there short comings. Someone else worked on the vehicle. We did everything we could to help the ****** Family . The Buick was purchased AS-IS with no Warranty of any kind.
The average market value of the 2013 Buick Encore is $10,350 They paid $5,600 plus sales taxWe have tried to upload to your page and it will not except our file. Can i get an email address to email the Buyers guide and purchase agreement with the ****** signature

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined the response would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
The only people who have worked on the vehicle since I purchased it was The Auto Ranch. The claim that someone else worked on/got under the hood is absolutely FALSE! The only thing done to the vehicle other than through them was a scanner to check the codes was used.

On April 14, 2022 I went to THE AUTO RANCH to look for a new car. I found a 2011 Buick enclave that I liked. We took it for a test drive for about 35 minutes. On the highway, interstate, & main roads. The car seemed to be working fine. Two days after me purchasing the car it started doing weird things as far as me driving on the highway I would be going 80mph & it would drop down to 60mph while my foot was still on the pedal forcing me to release off the pedal because it was like I was flooring it. My engine light ended up coming on. I took my car back to the dealership that I purchased it from maybe three times in that next week of having my car. they told me each time that nothing was wrong with it. But I knew something was because it was doing it every time I drove the car. He would tell me when he drove it that nothing was happening. After the fourth time me taking my car to them they claimed I needed a battery. They gave me a new battery but that did not help. My car then started overheating saying engine power reduced. I took it to AutoZone to get it read to see what was wrong & they claim it was my timing chain. I told the dealership I bought it from & they were very rude & told me to go through the warranty that he was not obligated to help me any further. I went through the warranty & unfortunately the warranty only covered $500 and it cost $5200 to get the job done. I went back to the dealership trying to figure out something else and compromise on some thing but he was very rude & told me hes not obligated to help me to deal with it through the warranty once again & hung up on me. I tried to have my mechanic call & talk to him & see what we could do but he also was rude to him & hung up on him as well! I am a single mother with 5 daughters. My car is our lifeline! I have lost my job & so much money because I dont have a car. My ************ are struggling & I need this resolved so I didnt just throw away over $8000. Please help us! Thank you so much!Business response
