We enrolled our 4 year old in ******************* at ATA. She was required to pass a very short test of some sort to be accepted. Overall, Mrs. ********************** did a fine job. However, there was a boy who would also attend class dressed in a red uniform. It was never made clear as to whether or not he was a student. He halfheartedly assisted in the way a young boy does. Additionally, we were offered a "night out" as ATA prepared special activities for kids so parents could enjoy an evening to themselves. The activity involved nerf guns and older kids dressed as zombies. Like many 4 year olds, ours is still watching kids shows, and is very scared of dark imagery. This clearly was not considered even though there seem to be quite a few kids in the 4-6 year old age range, with some as young as 3. While some skills were learned, I feel the experience was lessened by a young boy who just randomly showed up and was not treated as an assistant or student and behaved however he wanted. He just minimally helped, and offered no feedback during exercises. On one occasion he was so disruptive in class I felt I had to speak up and say something. I later contacted ATA about exercising an option to end our contract at 6 months. I have also requested a discount due to the lack of professionalism in handling these issues. I have sent 2 emails and have received no response. I would prefer confirmation in writing.
