This is a review of the billing department.I received a notification from a collection agency in September for a supposed missed bill from an IU Health Radiology appointment in April. I never received a paper bill or an emailed bill, much less any follow up to indicate lack of payment. According to my IU Health portal, I had no open invoices. When I researched the collection agency, there were dozens of reviews on the BBB site indicating that they were a scam company. When I called IU Health directly, they confirmed that they do use the collection agency that reached out to me and that I do owe them money. They ignored my comments re no open bills on my portal, laughed when I said that my research shows the collection agency they use as a scam, and told me I must have missed something when I said I never received a bill from them.I am now out $400 because IU Health claims they billed me and claims I never paid said bill. I am disappointed in them for escalating this to a collection agency with no attempt to contact me directly first.

There is not one treatment, one ER visit, one test, one anything that I have received that justifies the 5k I have paid this institution for services which in my personal opinion is substandard. For example, I thought I injured my hip from a fall and went to this ER. They did a hip x-ray which revealed not one injury or issue with my hip. However, in 2016, the *********** did a hip x-ray that detected numerous injuries to my hip almost 10 years prior, but ** did not detect a one. This hospital told my mother she had congestive heart failure during her ER visit, however according to her cardiologist and regular doctor, she does not have this condition. I have spent thousands of dollars with IU Health, and I am no better off today then prior to spending all this money.
