While we are generally satisfied with the **** it is impossible to purchase parts from them as they do not respond to emails and their computerized phone system never allows you to get to a person!! 8/6/2021 was date of purchase. We have had issues with the 4x4 function in a Landmaster L7. Our most recent issue occurred February of 2023. It was due to a recall issue on the shaft of the rear differential. The shaft fracture and the coupler for the four wheel drive wasn't able to activate the four wheel drive. I have had multiple conversations with two managers at American Landmaster since February 2023 most recent email being last week and no reply. Any email I've sent for the last month has had no reply and any voicemail left has had no reply. They have sent me chasing mechanics they claimed would fix it, but all have said they do not work on this particular brand. I am seeking reimbursement or at the very least to have this machine fixed and payed for by American Landmaster since this is an issue caused by their manufacturing flaws. Unfortunatley we do not have a dealer in your area to service the unit that being said the closest dealer to service it would be Odyssey Motorsports in Hayden ******** is 216 miles from your zip code. From the last conversations I read it seemed as if you had found someone to do the work but then they backed out. We had sent parts needed because of your decision to use some one you had found. Parts were sent out directly to you per your request. As for the repairs needed, we would rather have a certified dealer to go over your machine and ensure that all work is completed to our specifications. With this being said we do not pay for transportation of your machine as it is stated in our warranty policy. Please let me know what is needed from us to help you get in contact with a dealer near you.

This is NOT a warranty issue. It is a recall issue that is due to poor manufacturing. You told me that it could be fixed at ********* Powersports in ******, ID. You sent me the parts and they rejected the machine because they didn't want to work on it after researching it. My mechanic said the same thing. As I mentioned before we will cover the repairs under warranty with no problem. You will need to get this to your nearest dealer as I explained in my last responce. Per our warranty policy which is included in the owners manual we do not cover the cost of pick up and delivery of your vehicle for any warranty repairs. I appologize that the shops you mentioned were not willing to work on the unit. Unfortunately since they are not in our dealer network I cant help with that. If you would like me to assist in making arrangements for a dealer to pick it up, that I can do and have them contact you as to what their charges are for pick up ande delivery.

I purchased an L4 4x4 *** new from Land Master *****. After about 3 weeks the engine was bogging down, backfiring, and then shut off. It happened intermittingly so we brought it back to the dealer we purchased it from. A few weeks later I picked it up and the problem returned shortly after. I brought it back to dealer and a few weeks later was called an told it was ready that he was able to duplicate the engine problem and fixed some things he thought would cause it. A couple weeks later the *** was having the same issue and I brought it back to dealer again. I called Land Master main office and was told any issue I had with the *** had to go through the dealer. I asked him what my options were to get away from this ***, to exchange it for another *** of same style, or refund money. Was told that Land Master does not take back *** with problems, and they did not do refunds. Was told that the issue was a Kohler engine problem that ****** would have to deal with. Being a disabled Veteran I was all for buying an American made product, but I have been completely disappointed on how this has been handled. We are stuck with a new ***, paying notes on that we cannot enjoy with any peace of mind.Business Response

I bought the 2023 EV Crew 2/23 after several calls with AL who assured me the machine was rugged and was tested on hills at its factory and AL believed it would work in my community. This was confirmed by the retailer who (knowing the intended community well) assured me it would work. However, machine quickly overheats and cannot handle even 20-degree slope and on the first ride slowed to stop and then quit, resulting in long walk home and having to get another vehicle down the trail to tow it home. Retailer verified all settings are correct and drove it himself and confirmed it cannot handle hills as advertised by ********** is no dispute with AL or retailer that the machine cannot handle the trail. I then learned the 2023 unit is prone to overheating with those problems fixed on the ******************************************************** the 2023 model. I paid $22.6k (plus upgrades) for a machine I cannot use at all. AL sent me on one goose chase after another, and it took a while to realize that as they initially come across as sincere. The regional representative first told me he would work with the retailer to rectify the situation, but when asked to do so he refused. He said this is a problem between me and the retailer. I will post a video on ******* showing the mild trail it cannot handle about a 20-degree slope, once I coordinate another vehicle to tow me home (again). Heres the worst part though AL says (under About Us on its website) that AL is committed to building Gods kingdom and to always put customers first. As my unbelieving relative says if you buy AL youll have plenty of time to read your Bible on the side of the road as thats where youll be. A company that wont admit they produced a defective machine and then fails to address it sincerely and ultimately makes false statements should take down any reference to glorifying God off its web page as that is worse than selling defective machines and refusing to deal with it.Business Response

We purchased an L7 on 4/13/23. We had issues with the power steering locking in the full turned position on numerous occasions. We returned it to the dealer which had it for over a month. They stated the Landmaster would not sign off on the warranty repair for almost 3 weeks after it was completed. They only signed off after having to contact Landmaster 3 days in a row. We received the unit back stating that they replaced the power steering unit and rack and pinion. It is now 12/8/23 and we are again having the same issue. I also went to do the initial oil change to discover that the oil drain nut is located in a position where you can not get a wrench on it. This is due to the nut being up against the steel skid plate on the bottom of the machine, neither a wrench nor a socket can fit. I further discovered that this engine was not designed to be used in this machine. The company had no record of this type of engine being used, a Kohler EH650. The manual they sent with the machine was for a Kohler 450 and their records indicate the unit was installed with a different model then either of those. I believe this is why the drain nut can not be accessed via the access provided in the skid plate. I have contacted the company numerous times and spoke to a "tech", these people have no idea of how to help and just jot down what your issue is and told me they would have to check on it and would call me back, they never have. I did call back and ask to speak to an actual person who build these so I can get an answer, it goes to voicemail and I never receive a call back. I am unable to change the oil on this machine and the company refuses to help. I would like this defect to be fixed or to be able to return this unit for a full refund.Business Response

The engine in your L7 is a Kohler ECH650 and we have been using this engine in these UTV's since 2019 so for Kohler to let you know that these engines where not meant for our machines is concerning considering we purchased them from them directly and were involved with our engineers so that they would work properly in our application. If you received the wrong manual I apologize as we install the engine and include the manual that the engine manufacturer provides with each engine. If you are needing a copy of the correct manual you can always visit our website Manuals - Landmaster and find the owners manual and service manual there.
I attached the picture you sent with an arrow pointing at the drain plug that you mentioned had limited access to. I am a bit confused as I have never had a complaint or mention as being inaccessible. An open end wrench should be sufficient enough to use in this matter.

If the EH650 is an engine you use regularly then you need to notify the "techs" that answer your phone. They had no records of ever using that engine and stated my unit showed a different engine installed. They also had no idea that the units had grease zerks (I asked what kind of grease to use as your manual does not state) they stated that there is no grease zerks and when I asked if she wanted me to send a pic she hung up on me. Your techs have been unable to answer any questions and the one stated that "just yesterday another employee showed her where an oil dipstick was".
I assure you an open ended wrench, nor a socket can fit on the drain plug as it is too close to the skid plate, maybe if I were to remove a rear wheel or a fender and come at it from the top but is that really what I have to do? And that still does not fix the power steering issue.

Our nonprofit charitable organization purchased an American Landmaster electric *** with funds we received from a ****** The *** has broken down twice within the warranty period. We purchased our landmasters in April of 2022, starting at 30 hrs. We have had issues with how they would start meaning when attempting to start them they would have problems with running and staying running and the brakes. We sent them back to ***** lawn and garden for warranty work. ***** lawn and garden had them for about a week and stated they we perfectly fine. For about 2 weeks we pushed through the running problem just for it to get worse. I reached out to ****** ****************** with Landmaster and also to ************************* Vice President, to try to figure a resolution. They told me that **************************** was a dealer and a warranty center. We had **** tractor do warranty work on the brakes and engine, they adjusted the brakes. After a month of the unit being there we finally got it back, Brakes were still not the best and the vehicle Backfired. At 80 hours the starter stopped working on my unit, I reached out to **** tractor to start a warranty claim on it, they stated to me I would have to bring it in for them to install it. I reached back out to ****** and asked him if they can just send a new starter out before I took it in because I do not want it sitting in a shop for over a month again, he told me to have **** order a new one as warranty and if they had any questions have them call ****** and he would authorize the order then I could just install it. After 2 weeks of not hearing anything I reached out to **** at **** tractor and asked him about the starter and if it was ordered, he stated they will not work on Our units anymore because landmaster has not paid for the last warranty work and were ever we bought them we would have to take the landmaster to them for any work.Business Response

American LandMaster will be ordering a starter for the customer. ********************** will send the starter to the customer at no charge as a warranty concession.
The starter is warrantied by the engine manufacturer. Any warranty work done on the engine components has to be done by a ****** certified mechanic. That is the reason why American LandMaster did not initially agree to send out a starter to the customer. However, since the customer is having difficulty getting the work done at an authorized service center, American Landmaster is making this concession and providing the starter to the customer at no charge.

We purchased an electric *** from American Landmaster (AML). We had the *** in our garage, charging, with the extension cord provided by AML. We smelled something burning. My husband who is a retired ******* firefighter, was able to pinpoint the smell immediately and we discovered the *** to be on fire, under the seat, where the charging system connects to the battery. Had we not been outside its very likely our garage would have burned down with everything in it. We did some research and discovered that the Chinese made cable/receptacle they use is inadequate and not the proper voltage as labeled and to handle the current. I called AML and was told that I should go through the dealer directly. The dealer picked up the vehicle, removed the burned out wires and replace new ones, which appear to be the same inadequate type that caught fire, per AMLs instruction. AML considers this a solution. I emailed them to inquire as to whether they would be issuing a recall for this part but did not get a response. We also emailed the company to inquire if this has happened to anyone else with no response. We absolutely do not feel safe plugging this in at our home or garage as we dont trust this solution is sufficient. We also believe it is very likely that the entire system was damaged from the fire and want ALM to take this *** back as well as issue a recall so others are not endangering themselves. Had we been charging overnight, at our house, which we have often done, things could have turned out very badly. It has been our experience that American Landmaster does not take this matter seriously, at all.Business Response

It is for that reason that the dealer offered to have the vehicle sit on his lot. Purchased L7 Trail...don't ride it on a trail...it is not built for anything but smooth flat paved surface.First two rides each ended in dealer repairs to make it serviceable again.Third ride ended in the vehicle catching fire. Gas caps leak. Dealer had previously replaced one for us. Official fire report shows drive shaft snapped causing an electrical fire which went up under seat below driver. Operator did not know he was on fire until two other riders stopped him. A bottle of water and a bottle of Pepsi were required to extinguish the spreading fire.Now dealer has locked up our vehicle and will not allow us to even look at it. AFTER SERVICE REPS FROM ******* inspected the vehicle in person and made up a story about operator and accelerant being used to start the fire.We have an attorney now and no one will talk to us or return our property.
