In February, 2024, we purchased a Brand New 2022 Road Warrior 5th Wheel Recreational RV. Approx. 3 days ago, we started smelling gas. After investigating, we noticed fuel spilling from carburator. The Generator would not run anymore. I began calling. Dealer said to call RV maker, ************** Heartland said call Cummins, who warranties the Onan/Cummins 5500 Generator. During the next 50 or more phone calls later, I asked for any help, suggestion, advice, anything that would help us get through this heat wave,.while visiting *****, **, since we are stranded here, WITH NO POWER from Generator. On 8/6/24, I kept notes on all phone calls. I started calling at 0830 PST. No person helped from Cummins in **, **, or ****** were able to help us. The result was the same verbage. "We really can't do anything else unless you take the unit to a authorized Cummins service department." No matter how many times I explained that there was no power to close the sliders to move unit. They gave me wrong numbers, service ***** With "phone issues", cold customer service and disconnected calls.

I hope this serves as a negative on the profile of this organization. Shame on them. Also, I enlisted the professional services of a mobile repair company to get the necessary repairs for the "failed unit." We could have been killed.

I will definitely seek legal help. I want to ensure that large corporations do not get away with this kind of ignorance to consumers.

Thank you for your effort. Sincerely, the ***** HOMESTEADERS, From *************, ***

Receipt for ********************** We hope we did not violate the Warranty we have with Onan Unit, due to Cummins/**** refusal to fix a warrantied issue. This repair was a matter of survival. We had no power, in the middle of the dessert. We had no choice, life or death.

We tour regularly with our musician daughters in a winnebago rv. When we are unable to plug in to "shore power", and when on the road, we rely on the generator to provide power for a/c, microwave, refrigerator, etc. The generator is 1.5 years old, and is only halfway through the warranty period. We have had a number of issues over the last 6 months, requiring replacement of every major component, including the generator engine itself. Now, 6 months after replacing the engine, it has completely seized, due to some catastrophic failure resulting in all of the crankcase oil spewing out all over the engine compartment. We are, of course, in the middle of an 11 week tour, in the middle of the summer. The fault was discovered on a 100+ degree day in the *******. We were instructed to drive out of our way to a service center for repairs. After driving an hour out of our way and waiting 5 hours, we were told that no one there was authorized to approve a warranty repair. These conversations started on Monday, July 15, and the morning of this debacle was Wednesday. No one at the ************ facility was in any way helpful, and kept deferring to headquarters. ************************* is the supervisor of customer care at corporate and has been zero help. We were not provided a phone number, and were told on several occasions that she would contact us. This never happened and we were passed around to several different people who had no authority, and eventually instructed to drive even further out of our way to ********* to have them remove the generator so a "qualified" technician could be scheduled to come and evaluate whether or not the failure was warrantable. Aside from the fact that there really should be no question on that, especially given the prior 10 visits to Cummins facilities for warranty repairs, once we arrived at the ********* location, we were told that NO work would be done without preauthorization of $842. Clearly, this will take more than the allowed space here...

I purchased a stand by home generator. Their salesperson stated Cummins was reliable & has dealers in my area. I am in a remote location in ** & need a reliable power source in the storms we get. After installation from their service company, I had nothing but problems. The electric company (high charges for an hour & a half ONE way) & stated they cannot get it hooked up to my wifi-internet-nor phone. They could not dig the line because the ground was frozen, stated they could not do it. Sent an very inexperienced "kid"- work that never was done correctly. They could not get the app working, messed up my home computer stating he didn'tknow what a router was. FINALLY, it did a self-run monthly but then stopped doing in January. It failed to function at all in two storms, I was out of power for DAYS. I was out in blizzards trying to get it to manually start. The battery was charged, the oil was correct, etc. I sent the fault codes & the issues to (***** at ***** Electric) as well as many emails to Cummins on their app and their online chat and regular email and phone calls. They waited to reply at all until the warranty was past for travel costs reimbursement. Then they said they had no record of my complaints. Then they stated they are in some large lawsuits and I perhaps I should join in with the class action suit?? Then, when I filed my first formal complaint, the electric company person ***** went on & on about parts and codes and electrical jargon arguments until I told him (*****) to stop contacting me. It was ridiculous. I was building my home, expected professional installation & a working generator. I paid THOUSAND for the generator & more for the installation. Cummins refused to honor their warranty, ever. They stated I would have to give my credit card or a blank check for them to even come & look at it. Their phone triage line during both storms stated they would charge me $1600 just to schedule a "look", no guarantee of repair. I refused. Nothing since.

In July 2023 I purchased a Cummins generator, (model no.: A068H732) for $1559. It was delivered to my home in *******, **. After unpacking and following the installation instructions I attempted to start it. It would not start. I reread the directions, but after trying all afternoon, it still didn't start and the battery wore down. I immediately called the Cummins customer support line and worked through some online remedies but none of the suggestions worked. So I researched troubleshooting information on ******* and found this generator has problems with the choke. I again called Cummins support and was told they would look into this particular problem and would get right back to me. There was never a return call. I tried several more times to reach them and received a recorded message starting they would call me back but they never did. I continued to try to start the generator as we lost power frequently during this past rainy season but I was unable to start it. I continued to call the customer service number but again I was unable to reach a real person, only a recording. A few weeks ago I called and the number was no longer in service. On 4/5/24 did I finally reached a service person, ***************************. He later emailed me to say he had reached out to two other service supervisors and gave me their emails. I called one those service supervisors on the list he said Cummins does not do on site repairs and that I'd have to bring the generator in for repair (Cummins provides a residential warranty of three years) but the Generator weighs 136 lbs. I would have load it into my Prius and drive it over 100 miles to the service center. I'm 76 years old and have *** battling stage 4 cancer. He said he was sorry and that there was nothing he could do. I am too old and tired and sick to be haggling with these people. I need a working generator that will run as promised. I would like a refund so I can find a generator that does work; or failing that, an exchange.

We have a Coachman cross country sport coacch 354 mbs with an Anon Generator owned by Cummins. This particular model for the 2005 has an issue with a poorly designed oil fill tube the splits and leaks oil. There are several hundred motor coaches with this problem. And they know it because they built a new design but to replace it and clean up the mess the want close to $5200 to take it out fix and put back in. On a problem caused by poor design and materials.. I have contacted them only to get : Its out of warranty sorry! This problem creates a safety hazard in that it could cause a fire but they wont fix it unless you foot the bill for their mistakes.

I own a 2017 ****** Titan XD with a 5.0 Cummins engine installed in vehicle. the engine has 150k miles and most diesels get around 300k miles. i was driving vehicle down the interstate around 70 mph when engine started running rough and smoking from under vehicle due to valve cover bolts backing out and causing a major oil leak. vehicle has 0 psi in cylinder # 3 when spec is around 280PSI. contacted Cummins for a solution, and was told there's nothing they could do to help. I've done a lot of research and this engine has multiple issues and complains with valve cover bolts backing out is one of those issues. I feel like the engine has many flaws and would assistance with the vehicle repair.

They keep throwing parts at it and nothing, they have replaced most of it I don't know why they don't replace the whole thing. They don't seem too care about us or our issue there life goes on.

I have taken it to 2 different Cummins dealerships and they have kept it for over 8 weeks and cant even figure out what the issue is.
