Me and my insurance company were charged for service I was never made aware of. I was well aware that I would be charged for my individual session but not aware that I would be charge for group meeting and if I missed group meeting. No one even mention the group session until I asked about other options until my appointment. At that point I was told about the group but there was never any mention of charges. I went in thinking it was optional. I was under the impression that it was more like a support group. The session were poorly ran, 2 people often made it their own individual therapy session. The meetings were not kept to the intended purpose. A lot of chatter about nothing that had to do with the purpose of the group. Rarely got a chance to speak. I was told my the therapist that I was on a different level than the others and she would remove me from group. I don't feel that should have ever been said. When I advised my therapist of the charges she told me that I should have been told about them and she would contact billing. Never heard any more about the charges and now I received a letter from collections with a bill of over $400. I have no problem paying for the 3 individual session but I do not believe I should pay for group session that I got no benefit from, was unaware of and to top it all off being charged for so called missed appointments. I also believe there was some discriminatory comments made to me like the other clients were Medicaid or Medicare. I was told to apply for charity and I was told that if the Medicaid or Medicare clients missed appointments they were charged. When I asked why I was being charged, I was told because I have insurance. I asked wasn't Medicare and Medicaid their insurance and she said yes. This was the office manager. The first lady I spoke to told me that they couldn't pick and choose who the billed but the manger said different. my main concern is their billing practices and my name in collations

Correction. I was told that Medicare or medicaid clients were not charged if they missed appointments. I was told I was charged because I had insurance.
