Purchased a Gold Series home water softener from Petro's Culligan *************) in ********* IN on 05/10/2016 for $1706.65 - to include a lifetime warranty for the correctly operational and fully functioning unit. Our customer account number is ****** In December 2021 observed that the softener had not regenerated for a lengthy period of time - possibly going back as far as October or November of 2021. On 12/15/2021 Petro's representative ********************* *************) visited our home to inspect the unit. She stated she had not seen this particular problem previously and did not know the operational difficulty. She scheduled a service call by a technician. On 12/21/2021 svc tech ******************* visited our home. He too stated he had no idea what the problem was and called his office and spoke to a *****************. ****** replaced a retrofit kit and a thimble-size rubber grommet. I gave ****** my personal check made out ot Petro's Culligan in the amount of $192.00. The unit has since regenerated twice - but with loud grinding and squeaking noises. The unit has not run more that about 45 minutes during either of the two regeneration processes. On 02/08/2022 ****** returned and replaced the rubber grommet once again? 03/15/2022 ************** returns and explains the purpose and time length of the various regeneration cycles. She also checks the percentage level of our soft water. ****** has told me the noises are probably from our furnace? ************** is of the opinion I have errored in recording the length of time for both regenerations? The noises have lessened - but do continue and are not at all indicative of a proper functioning water softener. This unit is not right. It as not been repaired - and our furnace is not at all so involved. That - and my inability to record time are both insulting. I want the return of our $192.00 - and for Petro's Culligan to honor their commitment to the life time warranty. Attached please see a thread of emails exchanged.
