Nature of dispute and attempted resolve: Before the work was completed in November, I told ******, the head worker on the job there was a lot of cold air coming in the lower vent and the fireplace and it had not been like this before. He agreed and added 2 small pieces of insulation behind this vent. I then paid for the job.As the weather turned colder, the cold air coming in through the vent increased. One morning after extreme cold temps, I work up to ice on the inside sides of the framework of the fireplace. I took pictures and sent them to TJ's. After several exchanges of requesting help to get this issue resolved, **** the owner did come out. He stated he thought the air was coming in from the outside air intake vent and that I didn't need it for a fire so we could stuff it with insulation and cap it off. I agreed to this and he did the work that day. Although it maybe a little better, the problem is not resolved. After sending them emails to request further problem solving, I had heard nothing further from them. It feels like I now have an open window in my house. 5. Billing number: *******

We have reached out to this homeowner, and gave the explanation that we had done everything we could, short of tearing the chimney down to the ground and starting over.  This is actually very common for a zero clearance fireplace on an exterior wall to have cold air coming in.  The chase is well insulated(better than when we started actually).
