5/04/2023 6:41pm Elote $3.95 + tax. RECEIPT# ** Cashier: 1 The corn had spoiled butter in it or spoiled mayonnaise.I kindly let the cashier know and asked if he can exchange it for one with out Mayo and butter/plain Or just a bag of chips, and he said no.that it doesnt matter if it tastes bad or anything -that if I want a plain corn; to buy one.I explained to him that its wrong to force someone to eat something that has something spoiled In it and the female worker stated that the butter was not prepared correctly -That I got the top of the butter ;***which its the oil .I am making a complaint to have someone go and inspect what theyre doing because another person might come back and shoot somebody there another person might have a heart attack if they are like ***** years old It is unprofessional and disrespectful for someone to be charged and not refunded their money ;for an item that was not properly prepared or if it was defected or unhealthy or toxic or spoiled and it is against the food and health requirements when serving customers.I asked for there business license number and they said they did not have one.So most likely they dont have a business license and or permit to sell food. Its important to notice this before someone gets food poisoning and dies.Thank you .GOD be with you - *****

    Business response

    06/03/2023

Hello, apologies for the delay in responding to the complaint. The cashier stated that there was nothing wrong with the elote after revision and the customer could not state what was wrong it. There were no missing or incorrect ingredients and as well the customer could not state if there was something lacking or too much of a condiment in the elote. Because the customer couldnt give a valid reason as to why the elote was bad the cashier did not believe that customer was entitled to a refund, a new elote, or any kind of compensation. The cashier out of kindness did offer a free kiddie cone ($1.25) because the customer was unsatisfied and it was the least he could do but the customer rudely refused and left that part out of their complaint. We cannot just change our policy to give the customer compensation just because they dont like something because we are a small business and not a franchise. We in fact do give refunds or remake things when we are at fault. In contrary to the complaint, the cashier did not force the customer to eat something they didnt want and explained that if they wanted something new they would have to pay for it. Just not liking something without a valid explanation is not a proper reason for compensation. In addition, the butter accusation is false. The employees showed her which brand we used and said she liked that brand of butter another thing they forgot to mention in their complaint. The females workers claim that they never said the butter wasnt prepared properly. The last accusation I would like to clarify is that we do have a business license number and the cashier never said we did not have one. He did not give it to the customer because he did not think he had to. The last thing the customer forgot to mention is that they made a customer in line leave because they were not satisfied with the outcome. A relative of the family business who ordered an elote on the same day before the event also confirmed that the elote. We have passed every inspection so I dont understand where the customer gets these conclusions. Yes I agree its important to settle things with unhappy customers in a respectful civil manner but we cannot just give stuff away without proper reason and as said we are a small business. Thank you and God be with you! -********
