We've been using CarX for years, however they've recently begun charging ridiculous prices and using deceptive business practices. 2014 ********** brought in for a tune up. Told us that it needed new brakes and quoted us $1600 for new pads and rotors on all tires at $25/hr labor cost. A full set of pads and rotors costs $600 for premium ceramic brake pads and coated, cut, tuned rotors at local parts stores, even less online. No mechanic would ever take 40 hours to change brakes. What's more, on inspection the brakes were pristine, months of life on the pads and the rotors were like-new.2000 ***** civic needed a valve cover gasket, new spark plugs, wires, and distributor. Quoted at $2600. A valve cover gasket for this model is $30 **** Distributor, wires, and plugs all together is $160 online or $300 in stores. Same labor rate as above. Both of these jobs together totals 8 bolts, and 4 spark plugs. It took me 1 hour to replace the distributor in my garage, and I am not a mechanic. Do not trust this business. I am sure the mechanics themselves are great people, but these billing practices are far and away the worst I have ever seen in the automotive industry.
