Have a contact with Quest exteriors for a concrete driveway, gave a deposit of $2750 and now 16 weeks later no one answers the phone, no one at their office. I want my deposit back.Initial Complaint

I have paid Quest a deposit of $4500 to install a stamped concrete patio. Patio was to be stamped and sealed and was to have a spot designed to hold enough weight for a large brick fireplace and another spot for a hot tub. Contract was singed towards the end of May 2022 and was to be completed in **** weeks. As of now 11-15-2022 Quest has done nothing to resolve the issue. They came out in late July and tore my yard up and it has been torn up every since. I am going to have to pay someone to come out and undo what they have done. All I want from Quest Exteriors at this point is my deposit money of $4500 back and nothing else. I entered into a contract with Quest in May of 2022 I was told it woulb be **** weeks to get my patio completed. I paid my deposit (50%) and still mid November do not have a patio. I have asked for my deposit back on a couple different occasions and was assured that my project will be done shortly. This company will not be honest with you if you try to contactthem and will make it sound like you the customer are the one in the wrong for calling and questioning what is going on.I have called *********************** (owner) numerous times and I either do not get a call back or am fed some excuse as to what is going on. Excuse after excuse after excuse is all I get. Truck broke down, ohh dispatch messed up, no cement powder might be the most legit excuse they have used but even then after nearly 25 weeks that is not an acceptable excuse.I just want Quest and **** to own up to theirmistakes and refundmy deposit back to me.Initial Complaint

On Sept 6, 2022 I signed an agreement with Quest Exteriors d.b.a Quest Concrete to have them install 644 square feet of **** psi fiber reinforced concrete 3.5-4 thick walking path and patios. A nine tier step extension was also agreed to. I issued a check in the amount of $6000 as a 50% down payment (total agreed price was $12,000) on the date we signed the agreement. Since then, they have stopped answering the office phone, salesman cell phone goes unanswered and I have visited the office at ******************* West ********** office has no visible signage, doors were locked during normal business hours and there appeared to be no one in the office or any sign that people worked at the office (no visible laptops, computers, phones, etc. visible).Initial Complaint

I have paid 50% down payment for driveway extension to Quest Exterior Sale Manager *******************. I made the down payment of $1841.00 and the check was deposited on Aug 23. At the time of signing contract, I was told that the work will be done around mid October. I have been calling Quest ever since but I am not getting any responses. I get the answering machine when I call and I cannot even leave a message because the answering machine is also full. There is no mean to communicate with Quest Exterior and they have completely failed to provide me any update on the work order. Today is Nov 14 and I suspect that Quest Exterior is not planning to honor the contract. So at this point, I would like to get my down payment back and I no longer believe Quest Exterior has any intention of doing the work.Business response

Put down a down payment of ***** for concrete work. Sales, project manager, and desk clerk has been laid off. They said due to shortage of Materials. After reading reviews on **** list Im not the only one. I cannot get anyone to call me back. *** drove to the office and it looks closed. Have all emails with sales and manger . I paid $4,500 for a deposit to have a slab poured in June 2022. The work was supposed to be done in August and kept getting pushed back. The first week of October I received a call that they were finally getting to my job but were waiting on supplies (concrete) but expected to be within the next 2 weeks. I called and left messages and emailed with the office and ***** who was handling the office side of things is no longer with the company. I called the contractor ***** and was informed that he has been laid off. I cannot reach anyone to get my deposit back. I went to the physical address today and no one was there. I am trying to reach the owner so that I can get a refund.Business response

We signed a contract with Quest for a job to be done on June 7 of 2022 with a lead time of 5-7 weeks. We gave 50% of the job total as a down payment. After reaching out multiple times because of no communication back the project manager came out to look at the space. Since then there has been no communication and now the phone is disconnected and the website is down for maintenance. Home advisor has multiple recent reviews with the same issues- down payment collected and cashed, no communication or work completed.Business response

I received a quote from Quest to pour a patio behind our house. The quote is dated 8/17/22 and is in the amount of $3,500. I paid half of this ($1,750) with check #** dated 8/23/22 to reserve our spot in line. On 9/20/22, the project manager came to the house for what Quest calls the "take off" appointment. He said that the job actually takes place 2-3 after this appointment. Quest never reached out to me after this. After 3 weeks I messaged the project manager. He said that Quest was not doing any concrete jobs because of a lack of raw materials. No one from Quest reached out with this (or any) information - I had to learn this by contacting the *** Three more weeks passed (now 6 weeks after the take off appointment), and I still had not heard anything. I messaged the ** again (11/1/22) to ask what the status was of our job. He replied on 11/2/22 saying that he was laid off from Quest because they had no materials to do any concrete jobs. Again, no one from Quest ever reached out with any of this information. I have called the office multiple times and left messages with the secretary and voicemail. I also emailed the person who gave me the quote. No one is returning my messages. Quest took $1,750 of my money, apparently cannot do my job, and is not returning any of my calls.Business response

I got a quote for patio on 9/21. He said it would be 3-5 weeks before they can start. I signed the contract on 9/26 and gave them $3200 for a deposit. 5 weeks later, I hear nothing from them. I call and talk to the scheduler and she said she will have the project manager reach out. I hear nothing for a week so I call 3x a day for 1 week and no one is answering their phones. I finally get ahold of the scheduling lady again and ask to cancel my contract and she said she would management reach out to me. I dont trust her so I drive 35 mins to their office and its locked up and no one is there. I call her again and ask for the managers number and she said she cant give that out and she will let him know to call me! Im an furious now and want my $3200 backBusiness response

Overall Issue: lack of communication & lack of PAID FOR service.We signed for a patio and fence on June 5th, we were told it would be 5-7 weeks out. We heard from them on August 8th after we contacted them. We had a scheduled visit on August 30th, were we were told it would be completed within 2 weeks. We did not hear anything until we emailed a project manager who we thought was ours. This project manager told us that our project manager was changed and would be contacting us soon. We did not hear anything again until 10/14 where I called and asked to speak with someone immediately. I was told by ****** that they were leaving a note for the owner. I did not hear back again from them. I called again on 10/17 and had to threaten legal action to get someone to contact us about the services we paid for. Someone called us (new project manager "****") on 10/17 and we were again promised weekly communicative calls. We have not heard anything back as of 11/1 and I have already called and left voice messages to call myself or my husband back.Business response
