I paid 3 payments to get someone bonded out of jail, I drive to the jail and the jail informs me they never received the third payment to equal the $25000 required, So i checked my email and noticed only two receipts not a third one, so i call allpaid they inform me the 5000$ payment did not go through, so i made another one with a different credit card. and received my receipt. Now i notice on my credit card that i was told the payment did not go through there is a 5450$ charge so I overpaid the bond 5000$ because of allpaid missinformation also NEVER received the email transaction receipt like I did the other 3 payments, I received the receipt today by contacting all paid.. I can recover my overpayment 5000$ from the courthouse but allpaid refuses to refund the 450$ for the payment that should not even existBusiness Response

We are sorry this consumer had issues when trying to make a bail payment to the Vermillion County Sheriff (IN). In general, AllPaid does not have access to records or payment amounts for this customer (recipient) - we are reliant upon the consumer to provide the payment amount and specific details about the payment. Once we process a payment, notification of payment is immediately available to the recipient (Vermillion County Sheriff). At that point, only the recipient can decline, accept or make changes to the payment. Mr. ***** had 5 transaction attempts on 01/17/25. Of the 5 attempts, 4 were authorized and sent to Vermillion County Sheriff - the total amount was $30,000. Vermillion County Sheriff accepted all of the payments on 01/21/25 and AllPaid settled those payments with them on that same date.
Authorized transaction reference numbers are: ********, ********, ******** & 44587140. For reference # ******** the consumer used a different email address for the payment notification than he did on the others - it's possible it was mis-typed and that is why he didn't receive notice on that payment.
As a goodwill effort, AllPaid will refund the service fee of $450 for one of the $5,000 transactions. That refund will be processed on 2/14/25. When the consumer sees that refund in their account is dependent upon their card issuer's policy.
These transactions were accepted by and paid out to Vermillion County Sheriff on 01/21/25. Disposition of bail funds or how a court may return or forfeit is dependent upon the state law where the bail funds were posted. This is communicated to the user of our system during the ********************** process - attached are the consumer terms of service for reference. The service terms specific to this transaction can be found in section #4 (below) and attached for convenience. We suggest the consumer follow-up with the jail and/or the court in this jurisdiction for any refund related to these transactions

A bail bond was supposed to be refunded to my account in early October. The Oakland County MI courts gave AllPaid a check, #*********, for $200 and they claim to have credited my card. Discover has no record of a credit given to me by AllPaid and nobody returns my phone calls.Business Response

We are sorry this consumer had an issue with using our service. We have found 12 different transactions for this consumer between 9/29 - 9/30 - which are payments to the Oakland **************************** ** (The Recipient) for Cash Bond. These transactions were paid to The Recipient between 9/30 - **/1. As part of our transaction process, the consumer must agree to our terms of service. Item #** of our Terms is:
AllPaid is obligated by Our contract with the Recipient to transmit funds to a Recipient Account the Recipient has identified to Us for all Transactions involving that Recipient. Once funds have passed to the Recipient from AllPaid, the Recipient is solely responsible for how those funds are applied or any refunds. If You disagree with any of the Recipients actions in how the Recipient handled Your payment, please contact the Recipient not AllPaid.
The Recipient is solely responsible for refunds to this consumer. I would encourage this consumer to contact our help desk at ************ to further discuss any of the 12 transactions.

We regret this consumer had a delay when using our service to process a payment to the ********* Jail. In reviewing this transaction, the payment/transaction notification was sent immediately to the jail at the same time it was authorized at 7:22pm. Our customer, the ********* Jail, is set-up to receive notifications via fax. They are also set-up to automatically approve payments, which you can see as the "Approved" timestamp on the attachment. It's possible their fax machine was not in working at that time and they didn't receive the notification as they normally would. However, both the jail and the consumer contacted our call center and our call center agent resent this notification to an email address at the jail after doing a 3-way call with both parties. The payment process completed successfully at that time. As per our terms of service, any refunds would come from the customer (********* Jail) as they ********************** for the transaction was already sent to them.Initial Complaint

I paid my water bill for the City of ********, ** who uses AllPaid to collect their online payments. City of ******** then disconnected my water for non payment. I checked the bank, the payment, $145.55, had indeed come out of my bank. I went to the water department, they said they never received payment from AllPaid. We called AllPaid, they claimed to have not received payment, but my bank confirmed that the payment had, in fact, gone to AllPaid. There was no offer of a refund or any resolution.Customer Answer

The jail did not receive payment and defendant was bailed out on cash before this was paid via all paid. When calling all paid, I am told a supervisor will call and this matter has been escalated. I had to pay a rental judgment for a security deposit for a tenant. I logged onto the Newburgh Town court website to make the payment electronically. Court clerk calls maybe 30 mins later and informs me that I have to send the payment directly to the ex-tenant. She gave me the address. The clerk said I will process your refund now. The original amount came thru and then later was changed. I call the clerk back and she stated she has been trying to call to understand the problem but can't get through. So the clerk provides me with the phone number. I try to contact this business for several weeks. Finally get a hold of someone and she hangs up on me after I tell her the issue. The instructions on the Town court website did not say the judgement had to be mailed directly. The site allowed me to make the payment. Now ALLPAID won't refund me my $49.25 processing fee.Business Response
